CHAPTER 40 part 1
CELIA'S POV:-
Hi! I’m Celia. I’m a student at Oxford University. I study Biology and I’m hoping that I will be a successful professor one day.
I was walking down the street thinking about what my father said. He wanted a picture from me. I was the only one in the house that had a camera.
My hobby was to take photos of every interesting thing I see. He didn’t want any random photo though. He wanted a picture of either a werewolf or a vampire.
I laughed so much at what he said. Did he really want that?! I don’t believe in such paranormal things but I guess I have to go to the forest and try to search for something that doesn’t even exist. I will have to take a photo of something else and make it look like a werewolf or a vampire.
I took my camera out of my backpack and took a deep breath before opening the tall black gates of the forest.
My hands were shivering with fear. I never came to this forest alone before. I walked more inside and looked around. Everything was dark. The more I walked inside, the more my instinct was telling me to dash out of that creepy place.
Suddenly, I heard a loud noise making me scream and turn around.
I saw the gates closed. I remember leaving them open. I didn’t have the courage to go there so I just continued walking.
Rustling of leaves could be heard around me. I hugged myself and took some random pictures.
I looked closely at one of the pictures I took and froze in my tracks. There were two silver eyes in the corner of the picture.
I closed my eyes and took several more pictures. I looked at them and felt my heart beat fast. I could see a tall creature standing in the middle of the photo. With every photo, he was getting closer to me. I didn't want to get another photo because I knew he would be right next to me if I did so.
Without thinking twice, my legs started running towards the gates. I heard a sound behind me, indicating that someone or even something was following me.
Tears trickled down my cheeks as I kept on running. I was suddenly tackled down on the ground. I closed my eyes and sobbed slowly.
“Please d-don’t hu-hurt me”I begged.
I heard a growl making me open my eyes and look up. Those same hypnotizing eyes were staring right at me.
“What a-are you?”I gulped down.
He stood up and took my hand in his. He carried me further in the forest. My voice disappeared. I couldn’t say anything. I wanted to scream for help but there was a deep feeling inside me telling me that I was safe in his arms.
I looked at him and found him staring at me too. With every step he took, I could feel his weird clothes rubbing on my cheek. I don’t even know why I was thinking about him as a man not as an animal or a weird creature.
From what I was seeing, he looked like a vampire. A crazy thought struck in my mind. My hands crept up to my neck where my camera was. I took it in my hands and quickly took a picture of his face.
He widened his eyes in surprise and growled at me dangerously.
I pushed him back and ran to wherever my legs were leading me. If anything happened to me, at least I have some evidence in my camera, if he didn’t crush it of course.
I screamed as I felt something grab my wrist and bite into my neck. After a few minutes, my vision got blurry and I fell down on the ground.
Strong hands held me and all I remember was seeing a giant wolf running after us before I lost my consciousness.
CHRIS' POV:-
I couldn’t believe I'd finally found her. My mate. As I was running with her in my arms, I smelt a new disgusting smell. I turned around and found a rogue wolf.
With one simple move of my hand, he was laying on the ground dead.
I took her to my house and laid her on my bed. I drank some of her blood to keep her unconscious for some time, that’s why she was sleeping.
After a few hours, she woke up and looked around. She widened her eyes as she saw me and looked at me with fear in her eyes.
“I’m Chris." I smiled at her.
“Where am I?” She asked, ignoring what I just said.
“This is our house,”I answered.
“Our? Are there other people who live here with you?” She asked confusedly.
“No, I meant my and your house.” She widened her eyes.
“That’s kidnapping!” She yelled.
“I thought you are an adult not a kid to kid-nap you.” l teased her as she groaned in annoyance ”What’s your name?” I asked in interest.
“Celia” She answered while rolling her eyes. Celia, what an amazing name it was. I could say her name several times without getting bored. “What do you want from me? My parents can give you money or anything you want. Just leave me alone." She said desperately.
“I. Want. You.” I pointed at her.
“Why?” She yelled.
“Because you’re my mate.” I shouted back.
“What do you mean?” She asked.
“I’m a vampire.” l said and to my surprise, she didn’t look shocked. So I continued ”Every vampire has a soulmate. It’s rare to have a human mate but here you are.” I shrugged.
“How can I know that you’re not lying?” She gave me a suspicious look.
I leaned in and touched her cheek "Don’t you feel the sparks? I think this is enough proof." She removed my hand and sat back.
“I still don’t believe it. You can be using me for all I know”. She replied stubbornly
“I guess there’s no other way.” I muttered as I stood up and grabbed a knife from the drawer.
I could hear her loud heartbeats. Did she really think I was going to hurt her?!
"P-please leave me a-alone. Don't h-hurt m-me please." She cried. Tears were streaming down her cheeks, her lips were shivering and her whole body was shaking.
I placed the knife on my wrist and made a small wound. She hissed in pain and held her own arm.
“See? You felt the pain too.” I threw the knife and licked the blood off my hand.
“That’s impossible” She said mostly to herself and closed her eyes ”Why me?” She added.
“That’s because you’re special. The blood goddess chose you because you can take so many responsibilities and you’re smart. If you weren’t, you wouldn’t have been my mate. In fact, I would never like to change it.” I could see the corner of her lips rising into a smile but still, she didn't look happy with the news.
“Can’t you choose someone else? And what is the blood goddess?” She raised her eyebrows in confusion.
“No, I can’t. Our god is the blood goddess and she chose you. I can’t change it. Also, if you leave me, I might die and you will be hurt. So what do you say?” I asked while taking a deep breath.
"I don't want this" She looked down with sadness in her eyes.
"Do you want to let me die and get yourself hurt? There's a chance you might die too." I held her hand in comfort and raised her chin to make her look in my eyes.
“I guess I have to say this. Since if I didn’t, we both would be hurt and I can’t let someone die because of me." She sighed.
“I promise to let you live happily. You will never regret your decision.” I hugged her in excitement which made her laugh, it was music to my ears.
“What about my parents?” She rubbed the back of her neck nervously.
“I’m sure they will accept it when they will know that if we don't live together, you will be hurt.” She nodded hesitantly.
****
A few hours passed by quickly. We talked about everything. I told her about my life and she told me about hers.
She was a pretty smart student in her college. I was very proud of her.
“I used to read vampire stories when I was younger but none of them said things like that. They had different characteristics about vampires.” She said as we were walking down the stairs.
"What did they talk about?" I asked curiously.
"They said that vampires can't get out when the sun is up because they would die. Also, that vampires are humans' enemies." She answered innocently.
I laughed and said. "That's true. We can't get out in the day but there's a really smart guy who made us a potion to make us stand under the sun with no problem. About humans, you all used to be our enemies but from millennia ago. When Sfumato Da Civi, our old vampire master had a human mate, which was the first time ever, there was peace with the humans and vampires."
"That's awesome," She giggled.
I already showed her the house and we were heading to her house. She didn’t want her parents to worry more about her.
“I’m nervous.” She whispered as we entered the car.
“Don’t worry. Everything will be okay”I smiled and leant in for a kiss.
After pulling away, I saw how red she was and burst into laughter.
“That was m-my fir-first kiss.” She said, making me gasp.
“If I was one of your guy friends, I would’ve taken it for millions of years.” I laughed and started driving.
We arrived at her house and we knocked on the door. She kept praying that everything would be okay when suddenly, the door was slammed open.
An old worried woman looked at Celia before hugging her tightly. She looked exactly like her. She must be her mother.
