CHAPTER 12

Calla nodded her head and Ethan crawled out of the bed. He gave her his hand to help her out. Then he pulled her out of his bedroom. Ethan took her to the top floor of his big house. She looked around, everything was clean but still untouched. He opened a huge door and pulled her in. The room was beautiful. Her eyes widened in shock as the room was almost decorated as she always wanted. She looked at Ethan and asked. "Why did you bring me her?" Ethan sighed, sitting on the edge of the bed and patted the bed for her to sit beside him. She walked to him and sat beside him. He took a deep breath and started explaining.

"It was my Master's room, Master Dalton." His voice had a hint of sadness, Calla held his arm and gave him a small smile.

"Was his room?" Calla asked, unsure of how to ask him directly.

"He's dead. He died a long time ago." Ethan replied, his voice cracked at the word "died". Even after so many years, he couldn't just accept the fact that his master is gone and he's never coming back.

"I'm so sorry Ethan. I can feel your pain as I can feel he was so special for you." Ethan nodded his head and sneaked an arm around her waist, pulling her even closer to himself.

"He still is. I wasn't his blood, but he kept me as his own, like his own flesh and blood. Not only him, his wife and his children as well." Ethan said with a small smile on his face.

"So vampires can have kids. All these stories about vampires can't have kids, are nothing but a lie?" Calla asked.

Ethan looked at her for a few seconds and then replied. "It depends…"

Curiosity rose in Calla's mind. "Depends upon what?"

Ethan sighed and started explaining. "If we are talking about my parents, then my mom was a witch and my father was a vampire. A witch can conceive with a vampire. Incase of my Master, then he was a born vampire, a born vampire can impregnate a human. But if we are talking about Xavier and Mara, your step sister and brother in law, then that's one of the most rare cases."

Calla frowned her brows and asked in confusion. "What do you mean? What's so special about them?"

Ethan looked at the painting of his Master and explained to her. "It was known as just a myth, until we came across Xavier and Mara. They both were turned vampires, both of them had the same master, who had turned them both. Xavier was turned long ago when Mara wasn't even born…"

Calla cut him in the middle. "Okay wait! What do you mean by that?"

Ethan chuckled and explained. "Xavier was about 200 years old. Do you know how they actually met?"

Calla shook her head and replied. "No. No one ever told me that."

"Xavier was kind of a messenger, for your mother. Your mother was a normal human being but she knew stuff about the supernaturals. Xavier used to visit her and Mara fell for him. Your mother was more than happy with them together. Xavier was a great man. He took care of Mara, loved her and also loved you." He replied and wiped off the little tear that slipped out of Calla's eye.

"As we all know, he was a turned vampire, he couldn't have kids but they got Sophie, your niece. It is a myth that a turned vampire could impregnate another turned vampire. If they have convinced a child during the solar eclipse." He explained. Calla opened her mouth but Ethan already knew what she wanted to ask.

"During the solar eclipse, the Moon gets powerful. And we supernatural creatures are connected with the moon and its powers. During full Moons we get powerful and during a solar eclipse, we get to the peak of our power. So on the peak of our own powers, anything is possible. Mostly the children like Sophie are called magical born or a miracle. Because turned vampires can't impregnate without any magical spell." Calla nodded her head and just kept listening to Ethan.

"And about Sophie, she is even more special. She was convinced during the solar eclipse and was born on the blood Moon." He said.

Calla looked in her lap and spoke. "How do you know this much about my family?"

Ethan just chuckled and replied. "Because of you." Now Calla was very confused.

Ethan understood and said. "I'll show you something that will help you to understand everything." Ethan said and zoomed out of the room. He came back in a few seconds with an album in his hands. He sat back on the edge of the bed and handed her the album.

" Open it." Ethan said. Calla opened the album and the first picture she saw was her own picture, a bit vintage kind of picture. Calla shut the album and stood up from the bed.

"What is this? Do you think I'm joking here?" Calla said with anger. Ethan chuckled because he knew what she was thinking. Not just because he could read her mind but because of the picture she just saw.

" It's not you Calla. Have you ever worn these types of clothes in your life?" He said. Realization hit Calla and she opened the album again. Going through the whole album she was giving shocked looks to Ethan.

"This is one of your ancestors. You're exactly like her." Ethan said and Calla looked at him.

" Who are they?" Calla asked.

"This album belongs to my Master's family. This woman you're looking at…" he pointed his finger on a lady in the picture and continued. "... She is the wife of my Master, his only love Lilly. And a mother to me after my family died."

Calla looked at him and back to the album. "So you're saying, your Master is one of my ancestors?" Calla asked.

Ethan nodded his head and spoke again. "Yes! That's exactly what I'm saying."

Calla nodded her head and Ethan continued to explain. "My Master fell in love with Lilly. She was beautiful, smart, caring and very protective and brave. They both were in love. My Master proposed to her and she accepted. They got married and had 3 kids. 2 sons and a daughter. They were a happy family. Lilly never liked to be a vampire. My Master never did anything against her wishes. She turned old and grey but my Master loved her everyday more than yesterday."

Calla had a cute smile on her face and she patted his shoulder. "They must be an ideal couple."

Ethan nodded his head and spoke. " More than ideal." Calla nodded and looked at the painting in the room.

"So which child do I belong to?" Calla asked.

"The oldest one, his name is Ashley. He is a very good man."

Calla raised her brow and asked. "Is a great man?"

Ethan chuckled and replied. "Yes! He is still alive. It's still not his time to die. Not yet." Calla blinked her eyes a few times, taking all the information in that Ethan had given him.

"So how come my mom died?" Calla asked.

"Simple, she was a human. Unfortunately not all of us are chosen for these powers. The guardians choose a few of us to have this kind of special powers." Ethan explained.

Calla gave him a serious look then spoke again. "So you're saying I'm unworthy to this stupid power?"

Ethan couldn't control any more. He heard those words out of her mouth and started laughing hysterically. She was partially jealous of him and his powers. "Ha ha ha! Not funny Mr Carter." She stood up and was about to leave when Ethan grabbed her by her wrist and pulled her hard. Calla ended up landing upon his hard chest. He pulled her even closer, that she was now sitting on his lap.

He cupped her face and spoke. "You have no idea what you have in here…" he pointed his index finger on her chest. "... you're more than powerful Calla. Never compare yourself with us. We are powerful but not like you." Calla's cheeks turned pink. He pulled her to his chest, wrapping his arms around her. She quickly wrapped her arms around his neck.

"So since when do you know me?" Calla asked.

"The day Lilly had passed away." Ethan replied.

"And when was that?" Calla asked again.

"Five hundred years ago."
