CHAPTER 21

"Why did you bring me here Ethan?" Calla asked. She looked around the open ground she and Ethan were standing in. Ethan didn't tell her anything about where and why he was taking her. He just told her that they are going somewhere.

"We are here to teach you to fight." Ethan replied as he stripped off his jacket and threw it on the ground.

"But I know how to fight. I can even kick your butt." Calla replied with a mischievous grin on her face.

"I know you can fight, all thanks to me. Well, not all thanks but if it wasn't for me, you wouldn't have learned to fight. I am the one who made you this perfect." Ethan replied. Now his face held the grin and Calla's mouth was on the ground.

"What do you mean?" Calla asked as she recovered from the shock that was given by Ethan.

"How about I just show you? Come, hit me. Hit me as hard as you can." Ethan said.

"Are you sure?" Calla asked and Ethan started laughing.

"Yes Calla, I'm sure. Now come and hit me." Ethan reassured her. Calla tightened up her ponytail and stretched her muscles a bit. She looked in Ethan's eyes and decided her aim. She aimed at his stomach. She ran in his direction as fast as she could. Ethan was watching every single move she made. She came close and was about to punch his stomach hard when Ethan grabbed her elbow and twisted her arm behind her back.

"Aaooo…" she screamed in pain.

"Make it hard for me Calla. It was the easiest trick you just used." Ethan whispered in her ear and licked her earlobe.

"Oh yeah." She said. She threw her head back and head-butted him on his face.

"God, shit. What the hell?" Ethan screamed loudly. Calla chuckled. Because of the sudden impact, her arm was out of his tight hold. She turned around and winked in his direction.

"That is called the real revenge baby." She said and Ethan raised a brow at her.

"Okay then, let's move forward. I know you can fight and kick anyone in butt. But fighting supernatural creatures isn't that easy. You first need to choose a weapon. I have brought a few here. Choose one and choose wisely." Ethan said as he showed her the wooden weapons in a huge bag Ethan had carried. Calla carefully examined all the weapons and chose a sword.

"This one." Calla said and showed him a wooden sword.

"A sword, are you sure Calla?" Ethan asked with a shock visible on his face.

"Yep I am sure." Calla replied confidently.

Ethan took the other sword and held it in katana style. Calla observed his actions and tried to copy him. "Don't copy me Calla. You should hold it as you're comfortable with it." Ethan said and Calla nodded. She quickly held it in reverse grip. Ethan smiled and lunged at her. For about an hour or so he kept attacking her and she kept blocking all his attacks. A few times she got hit. But he only cared about her to learn to use the weapon she had chosen for herself. After an hour he realized that she can't take it anymore. He stopped and packed the bag. He held the bag and grabbed her hand. They both started walking towards his house.

They stepped inside the house and she laid down on the couch. Ethan chuckled and scooped her up in his arms. He took her to his room and made her lay on the bed. He went to the bathroom and filled the bathtub with warm water. He added her favorite fragrance and stepped out of the bathroom. "Go and get yourself cleaned up. I'll be waiting for you here." Ethan said. Calla turned around but Ethan's low growl made her stand up. She went to the bathroom and peeled off her clothes. She dipped her fingers in the tub and slowly got into the bathtub. She moaned as the warm water soothed her aching muscles. She laid into the tub and enjoyed the warmth of the water with her favorite lavender fragrance. After a few minutes when she felt her muscles weren't tense anymore, she took the shampoo and washed her hair. Then she took the soap and washed her body. Satisfied with her body fully washed and fresh, she hopped out of the bathtub. She drained the water and wrapped a soft towel around her small figure. She went to the mirror and looked at her small body. There were few bruises on her body. She sighed and wrapped a small towel on her head. Calla stepped out of the bathroom and sat at the edge of the bed. She was exhausted with all the work out and training with Ethan. She laid down on the bed and closed her eyes. And within seconds, she fell asleep.

Ethan left Calla in the room and went to the kitchen to cook dinner for both Calla and himself. He fried Chicken quickly and went to his Master's room. He had a few things left to finish. With teaching Calla a better fighting technique, Ethan was also searching for the answers. He was searching for Xavier and Mara's killer and also for the person who was looking for Sophie after she was taken. He opened his mother's book that he found outside of his parent's house. He closed his eyes and started reciting the spell to locate those creatures. But to his surprise he found nothing. "Shit." He cursed and ran his thick fingers through his soft blonde hair. He started to feel pissed at the situation. But he knew, all he needed was just a hint about the person who was behind this master plan. He put everything back to its place and exited his Master's room. He went back to his room and found Calla sleeping peacefully. She was looking so cute. Then his eyes fell on the big bruises on her small figure. He clenched his fists at the site. He exited the room and went to the kitchen. He quickly took some ice from the fridge and packed it up in a zipper bag. Once done he quickly went back to his room.

He sat beside sleeping Calla and pulled her in his lap. He lightly started applying ice over the bruised areas of her body. She jumped in his lap as the cold ice touched her soft skin. She opened her eyes, panic visible on her face. Her eyes met with the ocean blue eyes and she released the sigh of relief. She relaxed in his arms and he kept applying ice over her bruises. She could see an uneasiness in his eyes. He was sad and she knew he was worried about the bruises she had. She cupped his face in her small hands. She didn't know how to make him feel better. She wrapped her arms around his neck and pulled him close. He put the ice bag on the bed side table. "I'm fine Ethan." She whispered in his ear softly. He wrapped one of his arms around her waist pulling her even closer to his chest and with the other, he started rubbing her back. He kissed her cheek and she giggled.

"I'm so sorry I didn't mean to hurt you. All I want is you to be ready to fight and protect yourself." He whispered back.

"Shhhh… I know. You will never hurt me, ever." She replied confidently.

"You trust me this much?" Ethan asked.

She broke the hug and looked into his ocean blue eyes. She saw hurt in his eyes. She cupped his face with one hand and caressed his cheek with her soft thumb. "I trust you with my life Ethan. I know I have said so many things before but that was a misunderstanding. I trust you. I will always trust you." She explained. A year escaped his eye as he heard her. She wiped that tear with her soft fingers and gave him a sweet strawberry smile. He pulled her to his hard chest again and held her tightly like his life depended on her.
