CHAPTER 27
Ashley opened his eyes when he heard a loud moan. He knew the voice belonged to his granddaughter, Calla. He rolled his eyes when he heard her again. A gruffy chuckle made its way to his ear and he quickly sat up on the bed. He then noticed that he wasn't in his room. He was at Ethan's place and the room was actually his father's room. He looked at the other side of the bed and found his father sitting on the bed, chuckling lightly. He rolled his eyes again seeing his father's teasing smirk. "Stop teasing me father." He said in an annoyed tone.
"What? I am not teasing you son. I am just enjoying this very cute moment." Dalton replied in a teasing tone.
"Yeah, I can see that." Ashley said.
"Are you jealous, son?" Dalton asked.
"I am not jealous, father but it isn't easy. She is my granddaughter for God's sake." Ashley replied to his father.
"So what? He is a very nice man. You should be thankful." Dalton said and started laughing.
"Yes, I am very thankful dad. Now I know what Rebecca's father felt when he heard our moans." Dalton replied.
"Rebecca's father would have felt more anger than you are feeling right now. Don't you think?" Dalton said.
"Really father, you came here to give me hell." Ashley replied angrily.
"You shouldn't be angry, son. I promise you, she will be his queen." Dalton replied with a proud smile.
"I know father. He is a very good man. I am happy for them. At least she will be happy with the love of her life." Ashley said.
"You know, you still have a life. And Rebecca wasn't the end of the world. You still can have your happinesses." Dalton replied.
"Calla is safe but not me. I am still under the curse." Ashley replied in a sad tone.
"Are you sure, son? I can see you are free from it too." Dalton replied and patted his son's shoulder.
"Maybe, but I don't think I deserve it. I don't deserve happiness." Ashley said in a sad tone.
"I know son you made a mistake. You have learned your lesson and also have paid for your mistakes. Now it's time for you to live your happinesses too." Dalton said with a smile.
"I will think about it. So, is it true that he is losing his powers because he broke a promise?" Ashley asked.
"Yes, it is true. He made a promise to his mother. But he broke it." Dalton replied.
"What was that promise?" Ashley asked.
"I don't know. He never told me about it. But he told Lilly about the promise." Dalton replied.
"You know, if he is losing his powers and will be a mortal soon. Then he can't help Calla to find Sophie or her parents' murderer." Ashley said.
"I know, son. That's why you will help them to find Sophie." Dalton replied.
"But how? We still know nothing about it." Ashley asked.
"Time will tell you and teach you everything about your future. Don't worry son. You'll know everything when the time is right." Dalton replied. He then stood up and left. Ashley smiled and laid back on the bed.

Ethan laid beside Calla, both were panting. Ethan covered her naked body with the comforter as she was very exhausted with sexual intercourses they had in a few hours. Ethan couldn't have enough of her, he couldn't stop himself. And she didn't stop him either. It was her first time and she was more than happy that Ethan was her first. He kissed her cheek and pulled her close to him. He wrapped his arms around her and she did the same. Ethan was happy for the first time in his life. His life was in his arms, laying with him. "Are you alright?" He asked as he knew it was her first time and she could be feeling pain.
"I will be okay, Ethan. Don't worry too much about me." Calla replied with a smile.
"You can't tell me not to worry about you, it's something I love to do." Ethan replied and kissed the top of her head.
"I know." Calla whispered and her cheeks turned pink. Ethan chuckled softly when he saw her blushing.
"So what was that promise? You can tell me now." Calla asked.
"I have to tell you, is it necessary?" Ethan asked and Calla nodded her head. He sighed and forced a small smile on his face.
"My mother hated Humans. She was betrayed by humans so many times. She almost died the last time she tried to help a human. That day she promised herself not to help humans. I had a few human friends when I was a kid. She tried to stop me but I never listened to her. Then lastly, she forced me to promise her that I would never make any human friends again, nor I would find a mortal soulmate or I will lose all my powers. She made me promise to her and bound me with that promise." Ethan told her the truth.
"So it is because of me? I am the reason you are losing your powers." Calla asked.
"No, my mother is the reason I am losing my powers, not you. Don't blame yourself. And as I said, I will be happy to lose it if you are by my side." Ethan replied and captured her lips in a soft kiss.
"Thank you Ethan." Calla said after they broke the kiss.
"For what?" Ethan asked and chuckled.
"For everything you have done for me. For taking care of me. For cooing me when I used to cry. For completing my homework. For punishing my teachers whenever they punished me. For keeping me safe. For saving my life uncountable times. For making me laugh. For being a shadow for me every day and night. For reading bedtime stories for me when I was a kid. For singing me lullabies. For loving me. Thank you for being with me." Calla said.
"You don't have to thank me for all this. You have done more for me." Ethan replied and pecked her knuckle.
"So now what?" Calla asked.
"Now we will find your sister's and Xavier's murderer then we will find Sophie. Then we will take her back home safely. Then we will get married and raise Sophie like our own child." Ethan replied.
"Really, we can do that." Calla asked.
"Of course we will do that. And you are going to help me find her." Ethan replied.
"And where will we live? At your place or at mine?" Calla asked.
" Of course at my place." Ethan replied.
"Okay, then I will be decorating it as I want." Calla said and Ethan chuckled.
"You can do whatever you want. Now I can't wait to meet Sophie. I don't know if she will like me or not." Ethan asked nervously.
"She already likes you Ethan, don't worry about it." Calla assured him.
"And how do you know that?" Ethan asked.
"You remember when I saw you in that shop. I told her not to move as I wanted to talk to you. She called you my prince." Calla replied.
"I have heard that but, that doesn't mean she will accept me." Ethan said.
"She will love you Ethan. I promise." Calla said and kissed his cheek.
"I can't wait to find out." Ethan said.
"Good night Ethan." Calla said and snuggled closer to him.
"Good night my love." Ethan replied. They both closed their eyes and drifted off.
