Chapter 19 Her Plan

Judy's POV

I had always known that Wyatt's affection for me was superficial. To him, I was merely a tool employed to unsettle Evelyn. However, this realization barely fazed me.

My father was an Alpha of a Pack, and I firmly believed I was destined to become Wyatt's Luna in time. Working closely with him at the Pack, I clung to the hope that my persistence would eventually pay off.

Despite needing to leave Wyatt's Pack temporarily for work, I wasn't overly concerned. The fact that he still required my services was reassurance enough that our relationship hadn't soured completely.

With this thought, I picked up my suitcase and waved discreetly to the paparazzi lurking nearby. They eagerly raised their cameras. I planned to use the forthcoming photos to spark rumors about Wyatt and me.

As long as he didn’t outright reject me, there remained a sliver of opportunity.

"Stay here and wait for the Beta to come find you," Wyatt instructed, distracted by a phone call as he quickly departed.

He had come here with me on business, and I understood that. His abrupt departure required only a smile and a nod from me.

"Oh, yes, of course," I replied, smiling as I watched him rush away.

Now, with Wyatt gone, I was free to maneuver.

I needed to prove myself, to show Wyatt in this brief interval that I was far more suitable for him than Evelyn.

"Oh, wait a minute, isn't that an acquaintance?" I suddenly exclaimed, spotting Evelyn not far off. .

Why on earth do I still see her even in another city?

She seemed intent on ignoring me and making her escape, but I wasn't about to allow that. I approached her decisively, blocking her path. Her clothes were rumpled, as though she had endured some ordeal.

Evelyn's unexpected appearance here only confirmed my suspicions: despite her aloof demeanor, she was still in love with Wyatt and was playing hard to get to capture his heart more securely. This realization unsettled me deeply.

I couldn't fathom why Wyatt still held her in such high regard. She was merely the struggling Alpha of a failing Pack, seemingly devoid of any allure. Was his affection merely the result of her longstanding, secret admiration?

"Aren't you divorced? Why did you follow us here?" I asked, my voice laced with pity.

"You're trying to win back Wyatt's heart and save your failing Pack, aren't you? Bet you didn't expect to see me here, huh?”

"Why would you think that?" Evelyn replied, her expression one of genuine confusion.

"There's no need to pretend you don't care. I understand your true intentions quite well," I sighed, my tone softening.

At that moment, I even felt a twinge of sympathy for her. There might not be an Alpha in a more pitiable situation than hers.

I sneered, "Everyone knows your Pack is on the brink of collapse. If you had just maintained your relationship back then, none of this would have happened, right? But now, it's too late for regrets.”

Evelyn’s POV

Standing before me was Judy, undeniably beautiful but incredibly tiresome at the moment. I couldn't fathom how Wyatt found her appealing with her current antics; she seemed nothing more than an irritation.

The Moon Goddess! Did she have nothing better to do than obsess over her boyfriend?

As I contemplated whether it was the right time to approach the Alpha who could help me secure a new ore source, I simply didn't want to engage with her any further. I grabbed my suitcase and kept walking.

"Aren't you feeling guilty because of what I said? If so, you could honestly just buy a plane ticket and head back to your Pack now," Judy called after me, her laughter echoing in the corridor.

It was frustrating how everyone assumed I wanted to reconcile with Wyatt. Our relationship was irreparable.

"I'm not in the mood right now, nor do I have the time to chat with you," I snapped, clenching my teeth.

The ore negotiations needed my immediate attention; any delay could lead to serious problems.

"Is that so? But why do I feel like what I told you is very important?" Judy said as she reached out and grabbed my arm. "After all, it concerns Alpha Wyatt, such a powerful Alpha, right?”

"Let go!" I shouted at her, pulling my arm away.

But before I could free myself, Judy stumbled backward unexpectedly and fell, splattering mud across her face. She looked even more pitiful than before, sprawled in the dirt.

"Could someone help me?" Judy's voice trembled, sounding on the verge of tears.

"It's too painful... How could you hit me?" she accused, her eyes welling up.

The situation was rapidly deteriorating, but what came next was even worse.

"You all, stop!" Wyatt's commanding shout echoed sharply, jolting me.
