Chapter 27 True Identity
Evelyn's POV
I forcefully shook my head, trying to divert my attention from Bennett. But I couldn't help but look at him. His scent was so familiar that my legs gave way. I couldn't stop thinking about something happening only in the night.
I thought, 'This is just too strange. Mistaking Bennett for that male prostitute twice? It doesn't feel like a coincidence.'
But the truth will be out in a minute. As long as he answers the phone, I'll know whether he is that guy.
I was looking forward to the moment that Bennett picked up the call.
"Sorry, the number you have dialed is temporarily unavailable, please try again later."
Hearing the mechanical voice on the phone, I couldn't help but sigh.
It seemed like I was wrong. Bennett's hand hadn't moved at all, so he didn't have a chance to hang up.
Bennett wasn't affected by that call and continued chatting with the people around. They had been talking for a while, but he still showed no signs of stopping.
I stared at him, clenching my fists.
Damn it! I just couldn't get rid of the idea that he was that male prostitute.
I was so tired that I got these illusions. It must be! Bennett, the noble man, couldn't be a male prostitute.
I still remembered that information showed that the man was still a student. He couldn't suddenly appear here right now.
I hung up the call and quickly texted him: [Sorry, I'll be on a business trip recently, so you don't have to swing by the villa.]
I thought for a moment and quickly sent another message: [Maybe you should consider studying and mastering a skill to get a better job.]
The man's message came almost instantly: [Well, I can go with you. This way, I can help you get the work done faster.]
Then he texted again: [I miss you.]
I stared at the screen, feeling my mind had gone blank.
No one had ever spoken to me like this before. He was bold.
I could even imagine how he sent that message. What a cutie!
Wait, did I just call him cutie? Hell, I'm seriously in love with him.
I quickly replied: [Of course.]
Then I sent him a date. It was a few days later—just to give him some time to prepare. Then, I hoped to see him in my room. I couldn't wait to have sex with him in this suite.
At least, there was someone like him trying to make me happy. That was enough.
If possible, I hoped that this happiness could last longer.
I gotta do my best to keep him by my side.
With that thought, I returned to my room and called Alex.
"Do you have a way to sign that male prostitute to my company?" I asked.
"What? Why?" Alex seemed surprised by my idea. "You didn't wanna do this before."
"I know," I sighed unconsciously. "But things are different now."
Of course I remembered I had said that I wanted to raise the child alone. At that time, I had a very clear plan.
But now it was hard for me to maintain the status quo.
I had to choose a simpler way because I didn't want to take any more risks.
"I want him to stay by my side," I said firmly. "It would make me feel more secure. And that way, Wyatt won't keep bothering me."
"That's impossible, boss," Alex sighed. "After all, he's still a student. He won't agree to do something like this."
"Alright, I won't put you on the spot," I replied, feeling upset.
But he couldn't refuse. This money was enough to save his family. I couldn't think of any reason to reject it.
The only explanation was that Alex was incapable of dealing with this kind of situation. He couldn't convince the barkeeper. But I could handle it without bothering Alex.
And since I'd decided, I would secretly turn on the lights to see his reaction the next time we met.
The day I had agreed with the man was approaching. I was eagerly expecting that day.
