Chapter 26 Friends
Wyatt's POV
"Wyatt! Are they together?" Judy tugged my arm, still talking incessantly.
I just wanted to tune her out.
Evelyn seemed to have completely ignored Judy's words and started walking further away. Her figure with Ben became blurry.
The Moon Goddess!
During this period, Evelyn must've gone through something special.
I thought, 'I need to know what happened, or things are gonna get out of hand. But no matter what, I won't doubt Ben. We grew up together, and I know him inside out. He would never make me upset.'
"Look at the way they gaze at each other!" Judy continued talking. Her voice grew louder as if she wanted everyone to hear.
Judy added, "There gotta be something going on between them!"
"Shut up! How dare you question Bennett, an Alpha!" I didn't want to hear her continue judging Ben.
"No! I have evidence. It must be true!" Judy didn't want to stop talking at all. She suddenly looked up at me as if something occurred to her.
"You've already had someone investigate Evelyn. Go and ask! Evelyn is cheating with Bennett!"
"Enough!" I was at the end of my rope.
Perhaps Judy had also caught the Mad Wolf Disease! Otherwise, she wouldn't keep going against my orders like this!
I didn't want Ben and Evelyn to know about all of this.
I gave Judy a slap, sending her backward. I just couldn't stand her anymore.
Soon, I successfully left the underground city and returned to my room.
I didn't want to care about what Ben would say to other Alphas for I was already exhausted all day. I just needed a break.
I lay in bed, but my mind was still occupied with Evelyn. I couldn't chill out at all.
Finally, I got up and dialed a number, "Any progress on digging up who Evelyn's cheating with?"
Evelyn's POV
Bennett led all the other Alphas in the cave to continue moving forward. Soon, we all walked out of the cave.
I finally saw the sun.
"Feels great!" I lifted my head and squinted my eyes, feeling amazed. I even thought I would never see the sun again.
Bennett turned around. Yet he wasn't looking at me at all but the other Alphas.
Although everyone looked a mess, at least they all survived.
"This is yours, Alpha Evelyn," said an assistant-like werewolf standing next to me as he blocked my path and handed me a box.
I looked around cautiously and then noticed that almost everyone had a box in their hands.
The assistant said, "The man in charge of the lode and Alpha Bennett believe that every Alpha has done a great job in this test, so this is what you all deserve."
I could barely utter a word, but I knew this was my Pack's last shot.
He opened the lid, and I saw a box full of minerals to cure the Mad Wolf Disease.
"Thanks," I said, holding the box, and tears blurred my vision. These minerals would help my Pack stick it out for a while. I could wait and figure things out later.
After all that happened, Bennett was still willing to help me. He was truly an extraordinary man.
Holding my own box, I stood outside the crowd, carefully watching Bennett.
He didn't care about me anymore. The werewolves surrounding him were enough to keep him busy.
"Thank you so much, Alpha Bennett! If it weren't for you guiding us, we wouldn't have made it out." I heard people sincerely thanking him.
"This is my duty," Bennett said in a plain tone as usual.
"He's truly amazing," I couldn't help but sigh, gripping the bracelet in my hand.
It felt like everything was an illusion, or Bennett was just concerned about a solitary Alpha.
And I shouldn't have other thoughts about him. It was an insult to him. Bennett was such an excellent Alpha; he shouldn't be treated like this.
I must be crazy, or else I wouldn't have mistaken Bennett for that male prostitute. Bennett was too noble for that. For other Alphas around him, he was as important as the Moon Goddess.
He couldn't possibly be someone who sold their body for money.
But speaking of that man, I suddenly realized that I hadn't contacted him these days.
Based on his personality, he never liked others to stay around me, much less wanted me to fall for others. He would get angry.
I felt like I should reach out to him.
I took out my phone and quickly dialed his number.
Not far away, someone's phone rang. But I was very familiar with that ringtone, it was Bennett's!
I looked up.
