You Love Me?

After some time I waited while reading another book, then she came back while carrying some books and put them back in front of me. You're face doesn't imply pleasant things, somehow her expression can change like that?

"What's wrong Afrow? Why do you look dissatisfied?" I asked.

"I didn't find a book exactly like the one in your hands, Mrs. But I have tried to find a book that is quite similar to it. I hope the contents of the book will not disappoint you. If you need anything else you can tell me. I will go back to the back to check if there are any books that process like that," Afrow explained. He then returned to the bookshelf he had come from earlier.

"Wait! You don't need to go back there again to find the same thing for me. I think this is enough and we don't have much time to read books. If you want, please help me carry this book into my bedroom for me to read. Because I'm starting to feel my back is tired and a little sore," I asked Afrow.

Afrow nodded in agreement to my request and with a gesture of grabbing the book on the table, I happily walked beside him back to my room.

It wasn't for no reason that I wanted to bring the book back into the room for me to read there alone. I didn't have much space to explore the contents of the book when I was in the library. Since there were other people around me and there would likely be other werewolves watching my activities there, I chose to bring it into my room alone so that I could read the book more freely.

"Afrow, can I ask you some more questions?" I said on my way to the bedroom.

"Of course, ask me anything as long as I can answer your questions then I'll be happy to," Arrow replied enthusiastically.

"As for the room I'm staying in, will it be used by James as well? I actually want to use that room for my own space because for some reason since I got pregnant I've felt like having a place to be alone and calm my mind. I'm afraid that my emotional fluctuations during my pregnancy will offend James. So I wanted to confirm this by asking you," I told Afrow.

Afrow rounded her mouth and nodded. "I think he gave you the room for yourself, Mrs. Because he already has a private room and he is not the type of person who enjoys sharing a room with others even if it is with Mrs Xezedha. That's why it's likely that the room you're in now was specially given to you."

I heard Xezedha's name again this time, but there was something intriguing this time when I heard that answer. Doesn't that mean Xezedha once shared a room with James? If that was the case I would be even more annoyed not to be pregnant right now, because that ignorant man had spent a beautiful night with another woman yet chose me as the place to contain his seed.

"So... Xezedha slept with James?" I asked for confirmation.

Afrow bit his lower lip and seemed to regret what he had just said. It was natural for him to feel that way because he probably thought that I was jealous because I had learnt from Afrow that James and that woman were in a relationship.

"Take it easy, you don't have to feel sorry. I already knew that the two of them had a special relationship from James. Anyway, I don't have any feelings for that man and you don't have to feel guilty for explaining it to me. As long as you know that I'm actually not at home here, but because I have the responsibility to give birth to these babies, I am forced to stay here until the time these babies are born," I said soothingly to Afrow.

Afrow looked shocked, his expression turned sad and he looked at me with pity. For people who still have common sense and are considered sane, they should feel compassion for women like me, instead of putting more pressure and torture on me like James did. But that's okay because fate won't change even if I keep grumbling about it.

"I am quite concerned about that, you are a good woman and have a good personality. I think there's no harm in making you a difficult person here for Mr Alpha King. Even though you might not become a Luna but I don't think there is any elevation to having a position here as a person who has great merit for the Voghmoon bloodline," said Afrow as if he was unhappy.

I laughed softly. "You don't have to be upset about it, I don't want a title or any strings attached here either. As long as you know my intention for giving birth to James' babies wasn't because he had any strings attached to me, I just didn't want to leave while carrying what would make that person chase me around. That's all, I never demanded anything here."

Afrow lowered his head slowly, he looked at me deeply and sincerely. "If you had been allowed to leave this castle, would you have thought to look for someone who could be your life partner? A woman as good as you would be a shame to waste."

My gaze softened and I was reading the intent of Afrow's gaze. "What reason do you have to ask me that? Are you thinking of finding a mate for me? Setting me up with someone?"

I couldn't read the man's expression right now, wanting to show me something, that meaningful gaze and smile seemed to want to give hope; also wanting to give love; trying to be filled with doubts but still full of struggle; if only I had the power of werewolves I would definitely read the contents of the man's mind.

"I apologise profusely if my actions were insolent and presumptuous. But I have good intentions to make you happy once you are out of this castle and free from the constraints of Lord Alpha King. I think you are a person who deserves to be happy with the person who loves you," Afrow said suddenly.

I was speechless and stunned when I heard that phrase. Afrow was expressing love for me? Was this a joke, but it was too much of a joke. And I know very well that at least for some time now I've known that this man in front of me is not the type of person who would joke about serious things. He's a man who has a very good commitment to his business.

"Please don't make me think in circles. And I'm sorry if my question sounds like a joke, but I didn't mean it that way at all. Did you just make a declaration of love to me?" I asked with a curious look.
