Complained
"Tsk, conversations will always be difficult with you. I was just going to ask you why you went with Afrow to the library. But it got this big," James said.
I regulated my emotions and spoke again. "What do you mean by that? I don't even understand what you're talking about. I'm just interested in magical things, that's all, nothing more and nothing less. What can a human with no powers like me do anyway?"
"You don't have magical powers, which doesn't rule out the possibility that I will learn those things and be assisted by other elements to realise them. In a flexible world like this, everything seems easy when using magical powers. And the materials to obtain them can be obtained from nature. But I once again warn you not to do anything strange. Everyone here is always watching you and you have no room to escape from them."
Those words sounded like a threat to my ears, not that I felt threatened but I knew that I was being threatened by James. Even though I didn't do my plan recklessly, but still James could read my movements.
"It's up to you what you want to say about me. But you're just guessing. Instead of running away, I need to summon up the energy to respond to your utterly nauseating nonsense," I said as I swatted James' hand away.
James chuckled. "It's fine if you're really bored. I'll give you time to entertain yourself by taking a walk outside the castle, but don't even think about running away because I'll order many of my subordinates to keep an eye on you."
This sounded like good news to me, about me asking directly it turned out that I had already been given the opportunity to look around outside the castle. I will not waste this opportunity this time.
"How strange, are you trying to bribe me? I didn't think you were a person who gave things selflessly," I said.
"There's no need to beat around the bush, I know you want it but you're feeling a bit prestigious. If you don't want to I will immediately cancel my intention of agreeing to let you go on a tour outside the palace," James replied coldly.
Alright, I'll give in this time. Instead of getting on his nerves again and making him change his mind, I'd better be nice this time and follow that man's ego.
"Alright, I apologise. I honestly feel bored being here all day. Words are still together with my parents, I'm always travelling around everywhere every day even though it feels tiring," I said while complaining.
"Yeah, it's up to you and I don't care about your past. Today I'll be at the castle only until just before noon, after which I'll continue to be busy until tomorrow morning. So don't do anything to bother me or cause trouble out there while I'm not watching you," James said while pointing at my face with his forefinger.
He then walked away leaving me alone. I just shrugged and felt like I didn't care. After all, this was my goal because I could analyse and understand the nature that existed in this world and combine it with my research through the book I read earlier.
Suddenly I felt cheerful and excitedly I arranged my appearance of mirror life. It turns out that Aluna's body is paler than my body in the human world, Aluna's hair is also redder than my hair on the other body. I honestly feel that Aluna's body looks much more beautiful than my actual physique. But that's okay, I even feel happy that I can get beauty just by closing my eyes. Hahaha, that sounds funny.
When you were done with my dressing up, I casually waltzed out of the room. I didn't see Afrow standing guard by the door. In fact, last night he didn't seem to be faithfully waiting for me in front of it. Could it be that he was already on duty guarding another place or doing something else that James told him to do?
"Looking for who, are you looking for your cheating man?"
That voice, that voice that I hate so much. The voice of a woman who likes to find trouble with me. And when I looked for the source of the voice, my suspicion was confirmed with Xezedha standing there. She chuckled softly and walked towards me like a model strutting down the catwalk, so confident and always haughty.
"Can you not greet people from that distance? You're like a ghost," I said, not to be outdone by her.
Xezedha's expression turned sour, she must not have liked what I said.
"You never learn, little girl. You must still not realise who I am and how important I am to James. Compared to you who is nothing, you should already understand that," Xezedha said trying to insult me.
"So? Do I care? The position you've reached is not what I want to achieve and it's not important to me, so can you see the difference? Yeah, you're definitely not getting my point," I said back with a sneer. "I don't want to argue with you anymore, but you're always picking on me. Never mind, I'm busy."
"Well, I know why you no longer chase after James and seek his attention. Is it because of your special relationship with Afrow that makes you easily want to change your heart to Afrow? It turns out that you are a very, very naughty and disgusting girl."
This time I didn't want to keep quiet. Since Xezedha's words had already crossed the line and started insulting Afrow, I assumed that this time she was starting trouble again.
If I left it alone, she could be slandering and fighting against James and Afrow. I don't want Afrow to get into trouble again because of me. He's already done too many good things for me, and at least if I can't repay his kindness then I won't cause more trouble for him.
The more I kept quiet, the more Xezedha acted up and kept looking for trouble. I knew Xezedha wanted to be in charge here and get rid of me. I didn't care what Xezedha wanted, the most important thing for me was to get out of here. Either out of the palace or out of this world altogether and back to where I came from.
"Xezedha, if you keep bothering me then I might complain to James about this. I know I'm nothing to James, but these babies could get you out of here. Do you understand?" I intimidated Xezedha with my gaze while puffing out my chest in front of her.
