He Doesn't Respect Me
James stepped quickly towards me, with an angry look he approached me and immediately pulled my hand hard.
"Are you stupid? What did you do that for, huh?!" James snapped at me.
I really didn't understand what James meant when he did that to me. What was the stupid thing I had done? Didn't the two of us just meet in the main room of the castle? I didn't do much other than greet him and then leave. I could be suspicious of the moment when I met Xezedha just now.
"What is it that you're so angry with me? You're suddenly angry for no reason and doing things to me," I retorted unhappily.
I tried to remove that hand from me as well, the park said the difference in power between the two of us at best was quite large so I had trouble removing her hand from mine. He had no words but he did that to express his anger.
"Let go of my hand you rude man! If you're really angry with me then you can kill me right now. I won't mind because I only lost my life and I will be at peace in the afterlife with these babies," I half threatened James.
James was stunned and finally realised that he was being rude to me. He immediately let go of his hand that was gripping mine, he then looked at my hand and made sure that what he was doing was not hurting the baby inside my foetus. It sounded painful because the man who had soothed the heart inside my womb was only concerned about the babies and not me. But that's to be expected given the number of surrogate mothers out there.
"Now what do you want? I need to know what made you so angry with me just now. As I recall, I didn't do anything silly in front of you," I asked James for clarity.
James looked at me coldly as if his gaze was going to pierce straight into my heart, I was momentarily stunned and swallowed harshly, even though I knew he wouldn't do anything to me that could hurt the baby in my womb, but still I felt scared by his anger.
"What did you just do to Xezedha? Answer me honestly and I never accept lies because I don't like lies." James asked seriously and intimidatingly.
I guessed that what made James angry was my interaction with Xezedha. But I still don't understand where I went wrong. Was Xezedha the closest person to James or was there some diplomacy between Xezedha and James that James needed to maintain? It was all swirling around in my head and I needed to know what kind of relationship existed between the two of them.
Don't get me wrong, I don't actually care who and how James is in a relationship with, but I need to know that so that I can be careful and know how to act that can save me from here.
"What do you mean by asking that? You come in all of a sudden with a big temper, when I haven't done anything. You should remember that I'm carrying your child, if you make a mistake and hurt me then you're not hurting me but you're endangering your child's condition," I said.
I couldn't afford to lose this argument with James. At least I should have cornered him and apologised to me first, especially since this problem arose because Xezedha started the problem first, not me who was looking for trouble.
"Don't always rely on that foetus of yours to pressure me, I know you're in the wrong here. Xezedha couldn't have done anything wrong because she's not that kind of woman. Now you can stop replying and just tell me what exactly you did to Xezedha. Don't make me more angry because of your long-winded talk," James said at length.
I bent my face in a very sullen manner, this time my intimidation didn't work because she didn't really find my threat boring. It turned out that the woman's value or position in James' eyes was also so valuable that he was more concerned with her affairs than my threats about his own babies. I became even more curious as to what exactly was the relationship between the two of them for James to actually defend that woman.
"Alright, I'll explain. Actually, we crossed paths in the castle hallway and accidentally met. And Xezedha only greeted Afrow. While I was ignored by her and in fact not greeted at all just like a breeze until I felt completely humiliated by Xezedha. She should have respected me a little more even if she didn't salute me at least she respected my presence there because wasn't I carrying the child of a King Alpha? Where is her respect for someone who is carrying her pack leader's child?"
"So?" said James asking for a continuation.
I was a little shocked because James' reply was just like he didn't really care about the problems I felt and instead thought it was just a trivial matter. Isn't James a person who upholds his dignity and wants to be respected by others? There's no way he wouldn't be angry if his babies wasn't treated the same way people treated James. There was something wrong with this man's head.
"Wouldn't you feel offended if that woman did that to both of us? Doesn't that mean that Xezedha doesn't respect the child in my womb? Shouldn't the child of a leader be respected by everyone without exception?" I reasoned.
I'm sure James will be a little provoked this time, he might not have bothered too much earlier because his thinking hasn't reached that part yet. There's no way a very arrogant person like James would just stay silent when matters of self-esteem are left unattended.
James paused for a moment and seemed to be thinking. Maybe he's contemplating what I just said and starting to realise that the person he should be angry at is Xezedha, not me. I can't wait to see the moment when James scolds Xezedha, it's going to be so exciting.
"Oh yeah? I think your assumption is wrong and your thinking is actually logically flawed. Xezedha is only disrespecting you not that she disrespects my baby, you already feel like an important person here when your position here is nothing but a surrogate mother for my baby. So from now on you need to get your head straight, because compared to everyone here you are the lowest and most insignificant," James said coldly and contemptuously.
