A Little Problem Arose

"Alright, I guess that's enough. I'll be leaving---"

"You just said goodbye to them?"

James turned his head, "Didn't I say it to you before?"

"You said it to them twice, don't you want to say it to me again? Aren't you going to miss me on your long journey after this?" asked Xezedha with a spoilt look.

I just kept quiet and tried to stay away from the two of them. I didn't want to be called a scene-stealer, plus Xezedha would definitely say all sorts of things and annoy me even more after this if her intimacy with James was disturbed by my presence.

"Never mind, you don't have to be so spoilt. I won't be gone long anyway," James said as he kissed Xezedha's forehead. "I'll go first, you have to make sure that Aluna's foetus is okay. I will contact you later if I need to hear from you."

Xezedha only smiled a little, she could not cover the annoyed look on her face when James said so. It was obvious that James was not being intimate with her, and he even told her to confirm the condition of my foetus. I don't feel like winning because of this situation, because there will be repercussions after James leaves, and it will be even more troublesome for me.

I sighed while stroking my belly, I hope my life in this castle goes easier without Xezedha's existence.

"Aluna, I'm leaving now. You can ask Afrow to let me know if you need anything from me," James said.

"Er... Yes, I will if needed. Just focus on your journey," I said.

James nodded and gathered with the rest of the werewolf pack who were ready to head out of the gate. As the alpha, he had to lead his troops at the forefront. After a while I finally saw James' wolf form again, even though it wasn't the first time, James' wolf form looked amazing and much more amazing than the other werewolves' wolf forms.

"Are you sad?"

Afrow was already beside me. The werewolf party always had the ability to disappear and appear quickly with their lightning-fast speed. I didn't even feel any sound or vibration when she came.

"No, I was marvelling at the wolf form of the werewolves. They look like a pack from heaven," I said with awe.

"Do you think my wolf form is good too?" asked Afrow.

"Very! Very, very good. I still remember your wolf form when we first met in the forest," I said enthusiastically as I looked at her.

"I thought my wolf form was a little strange compared to the others, I was quite confident after you complimented me just now," said Afrow.

"I'm not praising you, I'm telling the truth," I said in denial of Afrow's estimation.

"Alright, I understand. Well then, Lord King Alpha has departed. Let's go inside, today's weather is sunny but quite windy, you need to stay warm inside to avoid getting sick," Afrow advised me.

I chuckled softly. "Alright, you're such a nagging old grandpa. I'm not a child anymore."

*****

Me who was sitting in my room relaxing while reading the book Afrow brought me the other day, heard some commotion outside. I had been given a message by Afrow that if there was a commotion then I shouldn't go out right away because it would add to the situation, I followed that advice because I thought that if I went out and there was an enemy then I would only complicate the situation because Afrow or the guards in the castle would have to be confused between defeating the enemy or saving me first.

"Gosh what's going on out there?"

I wish I had super vision like the werewolves have, not that I could tell what's going on behind the walls without having to peek out or ask anyone else. If it's like this I can only wait until there is news that I know from others, although I'm also confused about what I should do.

I didn't want to do nothing because I would look like a spoilt girl who always depended on others. I also wanted to do something useful so that I wouldn't be a burden to others.

Shortly afterwards, Afrow came in with an agitated face, he shook his head lightly and seemed to have just finished the chaos outside. I who saw that was eager to ask him but I was not sure because I saw that he was tired.

"Mrs Aluna, are you alright? Were you attacked?" Afrow asked.

I was a little surprised that he asked me that, even though I had stayed in this room and didn't go anywhere.

"I'm fine, I've just been staying here since earlier. I'm worried about the situation out there because I heard some commotion earlier," I replied.

"It's good that you didn't go out. In the basement, in the research room, there was an explosion. I don't know why the explosion happened but it definitely destroyed the room, and the understanding that the scientists were doing there was lost because of the explosion," Afrow explained.

I was very surprised to hear that explanation from Afrow. I had heard from James that there was research being done there about the remaining limbs of the attackers being studied for identity in order to trace who exactly the person who had ordered the attack on us the other day was. I thought it might have been done by the enemies somehow but surely they didn't want the results of the research to be known.

"That's terrible, is anyone injured there? It certainly wasn't a small explosion that could destroy a room until there was nothing left," I said with concern.

"Luckily no one was hurt and because the scientists there were also werewolves so they didn't suffer any injuries from the incident. But unfortunately the results of their research were destroyed, even though they must have done many things to find out the results of their research," said Afrow.

"That's right, and must have made various efforts to do that. If the one who did that is the same enemy as the one who ordered those attackers to attack us a few days ago. I think so because the reason could be to eliminate the traces and evidence that point to them," I gave my opinion to Afrow.

"Your thinking is quite observant, Mrs Aluna. I also thought so because I saw the connection between one incident and another. But I am also still trying to find out what caused the incident. But the thing I'm thankful for is that no attack happened here to you, I was worried that they were taking advantage of this condition to do a kidnapping or something. Although the news of James and the pack members' departure may not have spread yet, there's no telling if they'll find out first," Afrow said.

I rubbed Afrow's shoulder to calm her down. "Stay calm and think clearly, we'll just think of what we can do no matter what the situation is."

"Even though Mr Alpha has just left with the others to carry out hunting activities, there is already an incident like this here. And please don't stay away from me, after this I will continue to stand guard in front of your room to ensure that you stay safe. The matter of the underground room will be taken care of by the other soldiers here," Afrow said.

I smiled a little. "I'm always here, and don't worry so much. You've been looking very tense all this time, even since yesterday-yesterday you've been looking very tense. You should relax yourself for a while so that you don't get too tired. I know you're just as worried about me in the midst of this situation, but you have to believe that everything will be fine. It could all just be a coincidence."

"But--"

"Shhh."

I put my forefinger on Afrow's lips, I was annoyed by his attitude of always being serious about everything, although his demeanour seemed calm but I'm sure there were many things raging in his mind.

Afrow blushed like a tomato, yes it looked awkward in a very cute way when I did that to him. Like a pubescent boy who had just experienced love at first sight, he was too awkward to react to anything.

"Never mind, if you continue like this I will feel guilty. Because the one who made you become this tense was me. Just calm yourself down and take good care as usual. I believe in you and I trust you," I said encouragingly to Afrow.
