More Happy If With Afrow

I then ate my meal solemnly, the flavours in the dish were so delicious that it made me want to eat the dish again and again. However, I just realised that there was also Afrow beside me who was looking after me while I was eating.

Being in this situation made me think of several things at the same time.

"Afrow, I don't think I can finish this whole meal by myself. Would you help me finish this meal with me?" I offered Afrow.

"Hm? I understand that you feel bad about eating alone without offering me. But it would be unethical for me, a subordinate, to eat with you. That's fine, you don't have to worry about me. Because I actually ate before I came here. And also the food eaten by humans and werewolves is different," Afrow explained to me.

In just one answer I was getting all the answers to the questions in my mind. I actually wondered if werewolves taste the same as humans when they eat? What kind of food do werewolves eat? Do werewolves also eat the food that humans eat?

I'm the type of person who likes to find out about things and ask other people, because I think it's easier for me to understand something if it's explained by someone else rather than finding out alone.

"What kind of food do you guys eat? Don't you eat rice like humans?" I asked curiously.

Afrow smiled with a knot. "Actually, our food is you."

I was immediately dumbfounded, heck if Afrow took offence, I immediately backed away and took a few steps away from the man. His answer really sounded terrifying to me, hearing answers like that from those creatures make me feel so scared. Isn't that the same as talking to our own predator?

"Ahaha I'm joking, Mistress. We're not that bad, but if you come face to face with vampires or ogres you might want to be careful and alert. Because the food they eat is related to your limbs," said Afrow.

I had trouble swallowing my own saliva. Living in the world side by side with mythological creatures were things that were not easy for ordinary humans like me to do. I can't imagine other humans who aren't under the guardianship of powerful beings facing off against those mythological creatures. I began to think that outside this castle, there weren't any humans who were screaming because they were being eaten by such creatures.

My body felt goosebumps, at first I had felt at home living in a world like this and didn't really think about returning to my home world. But after I learnt more about this world, I agreed that humans and supernatural or mythological creatures should coexist in the same world.

"Then what kind of food do you eat, if not humans?" I asked for confirmation.

"Our food is related to the magical plants or animals here. We can also eat your food, but it doesn't mean much to us. Because there are no nutrients for our magical powers. And, we actually don't eat very often, but once we do we can eat a large portion."

Listening to a story or explanation while eating is a very pleasant thing for me, especially when the information I listen to comes directly from the object I am researching, I thought that werewolves ate humans as their food when I was still in the human world, I thought so because I had watched a pretty scary film about werewolves. Luckily after I was thrown into this world, my thought turned out to be untrue, if it had been true then I would have been in danger here.

I nodded in understanding. "So that's the reason why James is feeding me such large portions of food? Even though I'm carrying a werewolf child, my stomach can only hold human portions of food."

I complained and exhaled softly. I put the fork and spoon in my hand back onto the plate. Afrow who saw that just stood by while looking at me with an understanding gaze.

"If that's the case, then how do you explain the eight empty plates of food beside you?" replied Afrow, refuting my words.

I looked over to my side who was there, as I wondered if maybe I was joking with my own consciousness? It was like a joke that I pulled out to insult myself. I had openly and clearly said that I couldn't bear to eat such a large portion of food, but it turned out that I myself had reneged on my words in a fairly short period of time.

As Afrow was looking the other way, his actions seemed deliberately contrived and even seemed like he was teasing me. I who saw that felt annoyed and embarrassed, even a person who rarely jokes like Afrow was teasing me now.

"What are you doing with that face?" I asked in an annoyed tone.

Afrow pretended to be surprised and immediately glanced at me, he moved his eyes left and right a few times and then gave a fairly crisp-sounding laugh.

"I wasn't doing anything with my expression earlier, I was just looking up at the clear sky this morning. Oh by the way I just found out from another bodyguard this morning just now that you asked James to let you go for a walk outside the castle today. Is that true?"

Me who was still eating some of the leftover dishes in front of me, looked up and stared at the man's face who was talking enthusiastically to me. His gaze was sparkling and he seemed to be having so much fun talking about this, I couldn't help but wonder who was in the mood for a holiday? Isn't it me who's going for a leisurely stroll outside the castle?

"Apparently the news spread this quickly, as you heard it, I was indeed allowed by James to take a walk outside the castle but still under your supervision. However, it was not actually me who asked him directly, because we had an argument earlier so he ended up offering me to entertain myself outside the castle while he was busy. I naturally agreed to the offer, when else would I be able to relax outside this stuffy building if not now?"

Afrow nodded in understanding. "I see. Alright, after you finish your meal, I will escort you until you are satisfied with your walk out there. Although there are already other guards assigned to guard at a certain distance, it will be safer if I accompany you by your side."

"It's my pleasure, when else can we both relax out there. I'm sure you're always busy too, right? You must be tired every day working with that stiff-tempered man, right?" I said with a chuckle.
