Chapter Twenty - Worrying about the bad boy
Farrah
Violet and I pulled up outside of the school in my car. We were met with a crown of people, all standing in the same area.
“What is that all about?” I asked.
“Probably two dumbasses are fighting or something,” She said, rolling her eyes.
“Seriously, what is the need for fighting? It doesn’t solve much, if anything, it just makes things worse,” I said, shaking my head.
I have not ever understood the concept of two people fighting or people encouraging fighting. Why would you want to hurt someone like that? Be hurt by someone like that? I don’t know, but it isn’t for me. I found a parking space, and we headed out.
I shook my head, going to walk by, but stopped when I see it was Asher fighting with two of the guys from the football team. It was two against one, but Asher seemed to be getting the best of them both. And right on the side-lines encouraging was none other than Maisie and her stupid friends. I was scared that Asher would get hurt especially with two of them, and what happens if others from the team decide to join in? He has no chance.
“I need to get in there,” I said.
“What? No, are you crazy, what if you get hurt?” Violet said.
“And what if Asher gets hurt?” I spoke.
I barged my way through the crowd. Maisie looked up, smirking at me. Why do I have a feeling she has something to do with this?
“Asher, stop!” I shouted.
I don’t want him getting hurt or getting into trouble. He looked at me for a moment, his expression blank. The look in his eyes was enough to scare me out.
“This has nothing to do with you,” Maisie said.
“Shut the fuck up, OK? What is wrong with you, encouraging this,” I hissed.
“It is entertaining,” She laughed.
I shook my head and turned my eyes back to Asher. He was back to fighting with them both.
“ASHER WILL YOU PLEASE STOP! THEY AREN’T WORTH IT!” I shouted.
Suddenly Stuart and Lennon barged through, getting to Asher. They grabbed him, pulling him back. I watch as the guys Asher was fighting with slowly backing up. They weren’t so tough now were they when the numbers were fairer.
“Get the fuck out of here,” Stuart hissed, stepping into the jocks.
They held their hands up and turned and walked away. The crowd slowly started vanishing. I rushed over to Asher, making sure he was OK.
“Are you OK? And what the hell, Asher, what if the rest of the team jumped in, then what would you have done, uh?” I said, prodding at his chest.
He didn’t look too bad. He had a busted lip, and his one of his eyes was red and starting to swell.
“God, you ruin all the fun,” I hear behind me.
I knew who it was without looking. Maisie. Oh, hell no, I am not in the mood for her. I swung around, going over to her.
“What the hell is wrong with you? You are not right in the damn head; do you know that? What the hell did you do, uh? I know this has something to do with you,” I snapped.
I was angry. I was not a violent person, but I wanted to slap Maisie.
“He deserved it,” She said, “He should have thought of that before he stood me up,” She added.
It is official. She is a psycho bitch! I don’t have a single doubt.
“Oh my God, what the hell is wrong with you?” I said, “Maybe if you weren’t a crazy assed, needy, stalker bitch then he would not stand you up,” I added.
Where was all this anger coming from? Maisie opened her mouth to say something, but no words came out. She stomped her foot, drew me a dagger and turned to storm off. I turned my attention back to Asher. I wasn’t done with him yet.
“And you? What if you got seriously hurt? What if someone saw and you got suspended, or worse, expelled, uh? Did you think about any of that?” I spoke.
I continued to ramble on. I think I was losing my mind a little too, never mind Maisie. Asher listened to me, nodding his head when he needed.
“Are you even listening to me?” I said, throwing my hands in the air.
“Yes, ma’am,” He said, a hint of a smirk on his lips.
“Do not smirk at me, Asher,” I said firmly.
I went to start rambling again, but I think Asher had enough. He grabbed me, pulling me close to him, and kissed me. I whimpered, kissing him back for a second, but then decided that was not going to work this time. I pulled away, stepping back.
“No, that isn’t going to work, Mr,” I said sternly.
He smirked at me again, pulling me into him again, and kissing me again. This time, I couldn’t fight it. I melted into the kiss, slipping my arms around his neck, and kissed him back. I didn’t seem to be caring that we were at school.
Asher pulled away first and gave me a smug look. Damn him!
“I am still mad at you,” I huffed.
“OK, then you stay mad at me for as long as you need, sweetness,” He said.
“But honestly, are you OK?” I asked, running my fingertips softly over his eye.
“I am fine. I can hold my own, and I have been in worse situations, those guys are punks,” He said.
“How did the fight even start?” I sighed.
“They approached me when I arrived and started on me,” He said, “Apparently Maisie was talking shit to them about me, telling them I was talking about them, and wanted to fight them,” He added, rolling his eyes.
How pathetic is that? All because of what? He didn’t go over and hook-up with her? I swear if I ever get like that, I want someone to slap sense into me.
“That bitch is crazy,” I said.
“Yes, she is,” Asher said, wrapping his arm around my shoulder, “Let’s head in, the bell is going to ring soon, and I know you hate being late,” He added.
I nodded, and we all headed inside. I was not expecting to start my day like that, that was for sure. I am just glad he was alright. The guys walked us to our lockers to get what we needed, standing back and waiting for us.
“What was that?” Violet asked.
“What?” I asked.
“The way he just pulled you in and kissed you. Have I missed something?” She asked.
“I don’t know. It seems to be happening, a lot,” I said, “I am sure he mentioned something about kissing buddies,” I added, laughing.
“If that is what you want to call it,” Violet giggled.
“I don’t know what to call it,” I said, “We are friends, who kiss, a lot,” I added.
We both bust out laughing, before heading back over to the guys.
“What are you two giggling about?” Stuart asked.
“None of your business,” Violet said, smiling at him.
“I will get it out of you later,” Stuart smirked.
Violet rolled her eyes and shook her head. I need to ask her what is going on with her and Stuart. I will ask later when the guys aren’t around.
“Come on, baby girl, let’s get to class,” Asher smiled, wrapping his arm around me again.
“Sure thing,” I replied.
I have no clue what is going on with us, but I wouldn’t even dare ask because he will probably freak out and run for the hills. I don’t want that. I enjoy our time together, and what is happening between us now is fine.
