Chapter Fifty Three - I need it to be perfect for her...

Asher

“I look like a fucking idiot!” I groaned as I came out of the changing room.

Stuart and I were shopping for tuxes for the dance.

“No, you don’t. God, you are a drama queen,” he laughed, “Why are you wearing one anyway? Farrah said you don’t need to,”

“I know, but I want the night to perfect for her,”

This entire thing wasn’t for me, but I know Farrah is looking forward to it, and I needed this night to be perfect for her.

“It is Farrah, bro. You going with her will be perfect enough,”

“I know because she is incredible! But, after everything she has put up with since she got here, she deserves the night to be perfect,” I responded.

A lot of the trouble she has gone through was because of me.

“Maybe, but the two of you keep through it all,” he said.

“Yes, we have, but I still want it to be great for her,”

I went back into the changing room to try another tux on. Surely, I will be able to find something that I like, that I feel comfortable in. I tried the next one on and looked at myself in the mirror. It looks not too bad. I could work with this.

“How about this one?” I asked and stepped out.

Stuart looked at me for a moment.

“Yes, that one is better,” he smiled, “You look good, buddy,”

“Thanks,” I smiled.

Thank God I had found something. I feel like I have been here for hours. I was ready to get out of this place. Stuart picked his like an hour after we came here.

“Now, let’s go get these paid for so I can get out of here,”

I have had enough of the mall these last couple of weeks. All I wanted to do now was go and see my girl. I feel like I have barely seen her the last week. I had been busy taken my grandma to appointments, and thankfully, she was on the mend. Farrah had been busy with homework, trying to find a dress and helping with the dance committee. It was Saturday, and neither of us had any plans.

The dance was next weekend. So, this weekend we were going to relax and do nothing. I was going to get us lunch before going to hers. Her parents were away for the day, so we had the place to ourselves. I just wanted to hang out with her. Anything else would be a bonus.

“Can we go in for a minute?”

I stopped outside of the jewellery shop because something caught my eye. Stuart nodded, and we made our way inside.

“Hello,” the store person smiled, “How can I help you?”

“Could I take a look at the blue butterfly necklace in the shop window, please?”

She nodded and went to get it for me. It was beautiful, and it’s something I know that Farrah would love. It would match her dress for the dance. I only knew the colour, nothing else, because she wouldn’t let me see it until the dance.

I took a better look at it and checked the price. Thankfully, it wasn’t too expensive, and I could afford it. Farrah would slap me if it were too expensive.

“I will take it, thank you,” I grinned, “My girlfriend will love it,”

She put it into a box and a gift bag for me. I paid, thanked her and then we headed out.

“Now we can grab lunch,” I laughed.

“Thank God, Violet just texted me asking where her food was,” he laughed.

“Yes, our girls get cranky without their food,” I chuckled.

We both laughed and went in search of where to get lunch. Farrah wanted a chicken salad, so it wouldn’t be hard to find that.

***
I arrived at Farrah’s place and walked in as she told me to. I found her on the sofa, wrapped in a blanket as she watched some sort of what looked like a romance movie.

“Hey, my love,” I announced.

“Asher,” she beamed.

She switched her movie off, tossed the blanket from her and rushed over to me and threw her arms around me. I sat the things down and wrapped my arms around her.

“I missed you,” she whispered and pressed her lips to mine.

“I missed you too, baby girl,”

Once our lips parted, I held her close to me for a minute. We separated and took our place on the sofa, and I dished out lunch.

“I have been looking forward to this all day,” she smiled and tucked straight in.

I did the same, comfortable silence coming between us as we ate.

“Did you find a tux?”

“I did, eventually,” I chuckled.

“That good, but I told you, babe, if you don’t want to wear one, you don’t have to,”

“I know, but I want the night to be perfect for you,”

“Asher, the night will be perfect because I will be sharing it with you,” she replied and kissed me.

I slipped my arm around her shoulder, and she rested her head on mine. I kissed the top of her head.

“I love you, sweetheart,”

“I love you too,”

We finished up lunch and got cleaned up. After we did, I went into my bag and took her pressie out.

“I thought this would go perfect with your dress,” I spoke as she took it from me.

“You didn’t need to get me anything,”

“I know, but I wanted to. I saw it and thought of you,”

Farrah took the box from the bag and opened it. I watched her entire face light up when she saw it. She turned her attention to me, the biggest smile on her lips.

“Asher, it is beautiful,” she gushed, “Thank you,” she added and kissed me softly.

“I am glad that you like it, baby,”

“I know you said it is for the dance, but I would love to put it on before then because it is so pretty,”

“Of course, you can, my love,”

Farrah asked me to put it on for her, and I happily did. She went to look at herself in the mirror with it on. She stood admiring it. I smiled as I watched her and went over to where she was. I slipped my arms around her and kissed her shoulders.

“It is perfect, baby boy. I love it,” she cooed.

“Beautiful,” I whispered.

I wasn’t talking about the necklace, though. I was talking about her. She smiled and turned to face me. She covered my lips with her once again, this time a little harder than earlier. I groaned, snaking my arm around her and held her tightly as we kissed.

“I think we should go to my room. I have missed you in more ways than one,” she breathed out.

“Mmm, me too, beautiful,”

I nodded, took her hand in mine, and we headed to her bedroom. I was anxious to connect with her in more ways than one.
