Chapter Nineteen
She was fidgeting on her side in the bed. She was turning left to right, right to left and then straight glaring at the ceiling.
He peeped at him. He was scooting his fingers rapidly on the keyboard.
" What's disturbing you? " He said. His eyes were still locked with the screen.
"Ho-w do you know every time? " She popped her elbow on the bed and glanced at him without blinking her eyes.
" You're my wife." He said, still he didn't glance at her.
" It doesn't make um, any sense. When I wasn't your wife you still guessed right," she said, moving her eyes back on the ceiling and laying on her back.
" What doesn't make sense, Bebe? Our marriage or my sentence. " He said. He tried to talk calmly but failed.
" I I did not mean that. " She fussed.
" Puzzle out for me, babe. " He said. He didn't find it necessary to look at her. He was completely alone with her. He had made words to her that he wouldn't force himself on her. Ignoring, not looking at her was the only way he found to suit him to keep his words. He wanted to touch her, feel her and make love to her.
" I'm s sorry. " He felt hurt in her voice. Which made him look into her eyes. His heart ached to find water shining in her eyes.
" Hey! What's wrong? I didn't mean to hurt you." He leaned in, resting his hand on her soft cheek.
" Did I upset you?" She asked. He could see the pain in her beautiful brown eyes. He wanted to explain to her how much he wanted her. Sliding the laptop on the nightstand. He bent down his head. Putting his weight on his elbow, he brushed his thumb under her eyes.
" No. It was a busy day. You should sleep. " He said.
She nodded, closing her eyes. When he saw her sleeping. He went back to his work.
She couldn't comprehend. Why did she want to know? Was he upset with her or not? Why was he behaving decently? She closed her eyes when her heart was ready to embrace his words. It was genuinely a big and busy day for her. She did not realize it until she hit her aching back and legs because of high heels, although she wore them for a few minutes. Sleep easily embraced her.
NEXT MORNING :
She woke up. Her weight was on her belly. She opened her eyes. Her eyes fell on the huge diamond on her ring finger. She turned on her back and stared at the ceiling. She ran her hand next to her side and found it empty. Blinking, she straightened up and scooted her eyes around to see him. Her eyes laid on the note on the nightstand. White iPhone was resting beside it, her gift. She picked the note.
' Rose, I have got a meeting to attend. Most work was pending for many days. I'd be busy the whole day. There is your phone on the nightstand. If you need anything, call me. It's your home. Don't feel shy. '
She put the note back and picked the phone up. She smiled thinking that finally, she got her phone. Placing the phone back, she paced toward the washroom. She brushed her teeth. She folded polythene on her feet for protection from the water to her wound.
She bathed with hot water. Wrapping herself in a towel. She sat near the bathtub and washed her feet carefully to save the stitches from getting wet.
She put on a golden gown with a V shape neckline. Her wavy hair was falling down the shoulders and back. It was the perfect dress for the next day after her wedding. She picked her phone. She was waiting for her friend's message as they were sent back to their house after the wedding. She was glad and disappointed when they left as he couldn't blackmail her anymore and she'd be alone in his house. She frowned as she lit the display to get no new message. She stared back at the door and thought, should she leave the room or not? Deciding, she got to the door and stepped out. Her stomach was growling.
' I should find the kitchen first, ' She thought.
She started to walk downstairs and got her slippers missing on her feet. She frowned and continued to step ahead as the food was more important. She was looking around to meet her new family members. Unfortunately, there were only maids. She was hoping to find the kitchen easily.
" May I help you, ma'am? " One of the maids asked, maybe she was around her thirty
She peeped back at the kitchen and thought, perhaps she wasn't allowed to step in the kitchen. Otherwise, why would anyone ask her, stepping before inside the kitchen? But his note was saying it was her house too. She was feeling hungry. She thought to call him. But dropped the idea as he must be busy.
She felt shy to ask her for food. She just shook her head and decided to explore his house. Maid bowed her head and started to do the dusting. Her eyes were also finding Mel and Angelina. Who was nowhere to see? She frowned.
' What kind of people are they? Can't they see I've been in this place since yesterday? I haven't eaten anything since the morning. I should go out. ' She thought.
She paced back to her room. She grabbed her purse and opened it to check the cash. Thankfully, it was more than enough. She picked a white scarf and wrapped it around her head. She put on her white shoes. There was still a pain in her foot. It was really painful when you got hit again on your wound. It felt like hell. The medicine helped a lot. She thought of swallowing medicine after eating something. She put on brown and purple shades. She headed back out of the house.
She was astonishing. There was security all around but no one asked her a single question. Why was she here? What was she doing? Why was she going out of the house?
Shrugging her shoulders, she continued to walk. She found a small restaurant not so far from his mansion. She got in through the glass door. She ordered two veg sandwiches and orange juice for her. There were a few people in the restaurant.
When she was satisfied. She got on her feet.
Her eyes rested on chocolates, ' I didn't give him anything. Should I buy it for him? Everyone likes chocolate.' She thought.
She bought some chocolates. She paid the bill and strode back to her husband's beautiful mansion.
It was lemonade green grass that hugged the land beautifully. There was a big fountain in front of the entrance giant double door. She stopped to see this place closely. She stepped in through the extra huge iron gate, but a guard stopped her.
" Do you have an appointment, ma'am? " He asked.
" I live here. " She said.
The guards exchanged looks with another one. They both started to laugh.
Then it stuck in her mind. She removed her shades from her eyes and scarf around her face. Both stopped to laugh immediately. There was a horrible look on there's faces.
" How can this be? " One guard said.
" You didn't guard the gate. " He reprimanded the other, " Boss will kill us. " Second started to shiver.
She thought about it. She could understand why they were scared. Perhaps, she wasn't allowed out of this house. But somehow she managed to invade the security. She smiled, they couldn't recognize her with a covered face.
" I'll not tell anyone that I went out. " She said and started to walk in.
" Should we tell the boss? "
" Are you crazy? "
" What if ma'am tells the boss. "
" Better we should shut our mouth and be more careful next time. "
She heard them from her back. Was he really that bad? It wasn't a big crime to go out and eat. Their fear was clearing one thing, she wasn't allowed to go out. Sadness wrapped her face. She removed her shoes and caught them in her second hand. She saw a door and thought it would end in another garden. She smiled and walked toward it to see another beautiful garden in this mansion. It was a narrow long aisle with grey solid concrete walls and floor. She was feeling fear in her heart. It seemed an endless path to her. When she finally saw a huge heavy metal door, not another garden. Suddenly, her heart jumped in her chest, hearing painful loud cries. It froze her for two full minutes. She blinked her eyes. Holding a chocolate paper bag in her hand, she kept her hand on her heart. Undesirably, She carefully took steps toward the metal bulky door. It was already creaked open, enough for her size to pass through. She halted for a second to decide should she take the risk? She heard that earsplitting voice again. It was more loud and painful than before.
