Chapter Thirty Four
He was looking disturbed. Should I call him? What if he is busy? What if he would be running, chasing some trouble maker holding his gun? He'll not reprimand me, but I don't wanna take the risk.
" For God sake, go and call him, Rose. It has been more than an hour you are pacing in the room enchanting ' should I call him? ' He's your husband. You can call him or you can visit his office. " Ana said, getting impatient.
" He will be busy. " she slowly said.
" Why don't you call and ask yourself? " Ana wiggled her eyebrows.
" Where is Isha? " She stared at the door.
" Don't change the topic, Rose. " Ana rolled her eyes and got up from her bed. She picked her phone and waved it in front of her, " See, your phone is screaming to make a call to him like your heart. " Ana said.
" No, not a good idea. " She turned toward the window shaking her head in disbelief.
" Fine, I'm calling him. " Ana frowned and dialed his number, putting it on speaker.
" No, " She squeaked morosely, running at her. But her feet halted when she heard it ringing. Precisely, she wanted to hit Ana. In some corner of her heart, she was relieved and part of her mind was in trepidation.
" Hello," His heart melting voice came.
Ana put the phone in her hand and waved at her.
" Rose, " His voice came again, making his heart throb.
" H hi, I'm s-orry I disturbed you. " She stuttered.
" No, you didn't. " He instantly said.
" Um, " She bit the dry skin on her upper lip, " A-re you okay? "
" Rose, " He said coldly. She shuddered with the coldness in his voice, " Stop stuttering. I'll not harm you ever. "
" I kno-w, but I do not know. Are you okay? You um was looking upset this morning." She dug her nails in her palm.
" Do you need anything? " he replied a few seconds later.
" Why? I can't call you. " She instantly replied
She heard his laugh through the phone. She hung up. Her face was full of incredulousness. She waited for his call again. She inhaled deeply when it did not ring in her hands. She put her phone on the flight mood. Putting it on the nightstand, she rushed out of the room.
Kairo was coming with a beautiful blonde hair girl. She erroneously bumped in him.
" I'm sorry, sorry, " She said with speed. She was gasping for air in her lungs.
'' Where did you come from, A Marathon? " Blonde girl sarcastically said, contorting her lips.
Kairo tightened his jaw and passed her angry glare. Which sent her in mute.
" What did you do this time? " He asked with doubtful eyes.
" Nothing, I did nothing wrong. " She innocently said.
" I don't believe you. Tell me. " He asked again.
" Seriously, nothing. " She demurely said.
" R.. . ., " He started but interrupted by his phone ring. He raised his finger to wait as he walked away to attend his call. She was fidgeting for an unknown reason. She threw a side glance at the girl and then at Kairo who was standing at some distance.
" Who are you? " Blonde girl asked coldly.
It offended her, her being rude to her. Her new family adored her and mostly family members had spoiled her especially, his parents and her husband. She narrowed her eyes at blonde.
" Where's your phone ? " Kairo sauntered toward her and asked, crooking his head.
" In the room, " She grudgingly replied.
" Brother is reaching home in five minutes. " He said to her.
" Why? " She retorted.
He raised his thick eyebrows, " Let's go, baby. " He said to the blonde with a smile.
' Aren't he and Isha dating? She thought.'
She was tolerating his odd behavior after the incident. When Liam left the house, she was the cause of it according to Kairo. She didn't blame him as she herself thought the same about it. She accused herself of his sorrow.
She marched toward her room hanging her head. She plopped on the bed and grabbed the phone. She dragged it out of flight mood. Within a second, two messages popped up on the display. It was telling her two missed calls from Liam. She mooted to call him and poised herself to bear his wrathful voice. Distastefully, only from the fear of his anger, she calls on his number. It rang behind her making her jump. Devouring the guilt through her throat, She stood up on her feet like a kid ready to have her punishment, " I'm sorry. " She softly said.
He trapped her wrist in his hold, " Come, " He said, tugging her with him outside of the house.
She didn't question him. She went with the flow in her absent mind. When she saw him, sauntering toward the gym room. Her heart jumped in her chest. Ominous thinking clouded her.
Will he put an apple on my head and shoot me? Will he hit me as his punching bag? No, he can't harm me, he told me many times. He will ask me to clean the gym. How will I lift the heavy equipment to clean it properly? " She jutted her lower lip and looked at him for his sympathy.
" Liam, I'm sorry. " She said courageously again.
He stopped in the middle of the gym and whirled to stand ahead of her. There was a punching bag on her left side. She sighted it and felt sweat on her forehead.
" Punch it. " He said, beckoning with his sight at the punching bag.
She blinked. Thoughtlessly, she fisted her soft right hand and punched it. It didn't even slightly stir.
He crossed his arms and lifted his hand to his jaw. He rubbed his fingers on his tiny grow hairs on the chin.
He looks more handsome with this light beard, she thought and smiled.
" Did you use your whole power? " he asked.
" Perhaps, I don't know. " She shrugged.
" Look at me, " He said. He punched the bag. The way he raised it she thought it would stir lightly. Making her shock bag swing making a ninety degree angle landed back, making several thirty, forty, forty five degree angels all the directions.
" Waoo, " Her mouth gaped in astound. You are the superman. " She ate the distance and pressed his biceps with her fingers " Wao, you are so strong." She smiled showing her full teeth.
He was glaring at her wearing a killing smile, " Try it again. Do as I did. " He said.
She nodded her head. She clenched her hand in a tight fist. She forcefully hit it with her fist. It stirred this time, making her groan in several pain, " My finger! My Finger! " She shrieked in pain. He cursed under his breath. Taking her tender hand in his strong. He rubbed her fingers, putting light pressure on her fingers.
" Is it okay? " He asked concernedly. She giggled, "You were pretending. " He glared in her eyes,
" It hurted a bit. I don't wanna do this. " She said.
He tugged her wrapping his arm around her waist, " I want you to learn it at least punching and kicking. You will learn how to use a gun. " He said.
" I'll not kill anyone, " She saddened and winced at the same time.
" You'll not. It is for your security if I'm not around. " He said.
" Bodyguards, " She suggested.
" I know, how are you with them? Rose, you'll learn all this. You'll carry a gun with you." he declared.
" No way, " She squealed.
" It's final. Tomorrow is your training. No excuses. " He issued another order without her will. She hung her head to gain his NO, " It's for your own good. You'll not regret it in future. " He kissed on the top of her head.
" I don't know, " She said apathetically. She put her arms around him and her head rested on his middle of chest.
" Brother, " Voice came from her back.
She turned her face, " Lorenzo, " She said with a mixer of astonishment and a smile on her lips.
" Good afternoon, Rose. " Lorenzo smiled.
" Hey! H-ow are you? " She asked with a smile.
Liam pulled her to his chest, " Relax, babe! He's not one of them. " He whispered in her ear.
" I know. What's going on? " She asked.
" I should come later, brother. "Lorenzo said and turned to leave.
" Lorenzo, " Liam said, " See you at night babe. We'll talk about what you want to know. " He said, placing his hand on her cheek.
" Okay, " she whispered.
Her mother in law was reading a magazine sitting on a red soft couch, " Practice on the punching bag, Rose. '' Olivia said, lifting her head above the magazine.
" But Mom, my fingers are hurting. " She made a lame excuse.
" Todd! " Olivia called her bodyguard.
He came with black cloth. Olivia stood up and took it from his hands. She wrapped it firmly around her hands, " Now practice with it. It will not hurt now. " She said.
Unwantedly she paced back in the gym and glared at the punching bag. She inhaled, deflating with noise. She started to punch it. She was punching on it with no interest. She was getting bored and feeling defeat. She punched on it in frustration. It moved more than stir. She smiled. She did it again. It was more than stirring again.
" Very well! " Olivia said from behind.
She spinned with a smile, " I didn't believe it. I did it. "
" You'll practice it daily. Now let's play some games. " Olivia said
Her mother in law took her toward the back wall of the gym. There was a hard paper box, hanging with the help of thick thread. She could see a big hole in it.
" What's this? " she asked in confusion.
Olivia took a gun from Todd's hand. She stepped back, gulping the air.
" It's a toy gun, Rose. I've specially made it for you. It has features the same as real. But it's not real. See! She pulled the trigger and a small yellow round ball came out of its tunnel and got It through the hole. Olivia extended it toward her. She took it with a smile. She remembered playing with it when she used to go to school.
Someone cleared her throat. They turned to see him, " Liam, " Olivia smiled.
" Brilliant, she's holding a gun with a smile. Should I? " He smiled and looked at Olivia.
" Sure, " Olivia smiled again.
Making her stand in a proper position, he walked behind her, " First, we'll work on aim. Now aim it. " His one hand on her hand on the toy gun's trigger and the second on her stomach. She was sweating with his touch.
She had done this in her childhood days with Hacker, Ana and Isha. She shot it and it went through the hole.
" I think you have played with it. Ain't you? " Liam asked, bending his head.
" Hacker taught us. " She shyly said.
" Excellent! I'll teach you how to use a small gun. What do you say, Liam? I don't want her to distract while learning." Olivia asked and smiled looking at both.
" Sure, " He said Olivia but eyes were on her, patting her cheek softly, he left the gym.
