Chapter Thirty Nine
Her hand was enclosed by his strong warm hand. Opening her eyes, she soaked the morning light in her eyes. She smiled and felt his hand's grip around her as it was some safe environment for her. She mostly didn't get him in the room when she woke up. She slipped her hand from his hold. He grasped her slipping fingers and snapped open his eyes. Bringing out a gun in his second hand. He perplexed, when he didn't get anyone around them but the sound of gasp from her parted lips.
" Goo-d morning, " She tried to smile but his gun made it faded.
Closing his eyes again, he threw his head back on the pillow, " Morning.... Did I terrified you? " he asked in his slow voice.
" No, I um, I startled you." She sighed. " Can I go to see them in the hospital? " She asked him apprehensively.
He opened his eyes and gazed at her. He lifted his hand to touch her but stopped himself, " Sure," He said, getting out of the bed. He put the gun on the table. He sauntered toward the washroom. It perplexed her, why did he stop? Sighing, she plucked the phone from the nightstand and busied herself on her phone.
After bathing, Liam came out of the washroom in white towel around his waist. His hair was dripping. She was gawking at his perfect solid chiselled back. His skin was shining with water. He plucked white suit from his cupboard. He buttoned his black shirt and donned his clothes. She could not peel her eyes from him.
" Take your time, babe. " It startled her. She blinked and stared at him to say something. But she was so busy in her thoughts. Liam was already ready for his day and went toward his study. She realized it when she heard the thud of the closing door.
Keeping her phone near his gun. She stepped out of the bed. She brushed her teeth and bathed. She donned in black sleeveless jumpsuit. She put on light makeup. Her loose hair was hanging down her back. Grabbing her purse and unplugging her phone from charge, she headed toward the study.
She knocked on the door, " Liam? " She said loudly his name.
" You haven't any need to knock on the door. You can walk in. You don't need any permission. " he said, eyes lost in his file.
She was gawking on her lower lips. Guilt of killing someone was still alive. But she was glad that all are alive, injured but alive. She came in standing four steps away from him, " I'm ready. " She whispered timidly. She was roaming her eyes around. She hadn't been here before. She didn't want to stare at him again.
" Come, " he said. Turning sharply at her side, slipping his hand on her waist. She was making efforts to match with his long strides.
When he stopped at the dining table, She heaved a deep sigh. He was looking disturbed. " I'm not hungry. '' She said.
" I know. Veg sandwich? " he asked, locking his eyes with her.
She couldn't say anything to him, but she managed to say, " okay." She looked at the table. There were only two of them. She peeped at his wrist watch to know the time.
" Six o'clock. " He said, filling her glass with juice.
" How do you know everytime? " She asked confusingly.
" When you will feel the way I feel for you. You'll know this. " he said.
She fixed her eyes on him for a while. She was waiting for him to look at her. It didn't happen. Deflating, she shifted her gaze away from him on her food, " Did this also relate to that feeling? " she asked, pointing at her plate.
She liked to eat veg sandwiches whenever she got confused and didn't know what to do?
He glanced up at her and smiled. His gaze drifted from her plate to her face, " Kinda." He said.
Keeping her eyes down, she gathered her hair behind her war, " Are you mocking me?" She restlessly asked him, adjusting on her chair.
" I'll never." He spoke softly.
She felt a surge of strange feelings hearing his voice. She was feeling as though he wasn't treating her as he usually did. Ping of hurt was the next level of tolerance.
She ate her breakfast while he was busy on his laptop and sipping from his coffee. When she finished her breakfast. She waited for him. Whenever she beheld him, strange things clawed her heart and stomach. She raked her eyes from his typing hand to his face, his stubble then down his throat. His three buttons were unfastened, showing his muscles beneath his black shirt.
She closed her eyes, ' You are staring at him. Stop it. He'll catch you. ' she told herself and opened her eyes.
He put his empty cup down, " I've to pick my files. You can wait near the car. " He said, walking toward his study back.
' He did not talk about the incident once. ' she thought.
She couldn't understand. She was feeling it or he was actually behaving not unusually. She stood up and paced out. She was waiting for him near his car. He came back with a blue file. He was attending his call. He halted some feet away from her. She was struggling to control the urge to run her fingers in his dark hair.
She spotted Ana and Isha walking toward her, " Are you going to the hospital? " Ana said.
" We are coming with you." Isha smiled.
" No way! You both need rest." She shook her head, glaring at them.
" That's not fair. It has been two days since that tragedy. We are better. " Isha said.
" You both should rest in your room. You should go and sleep until you both heal properly. I'm going with Liam." She pointed at them with her finger to get them back.
" We should not disturb them." Ana smirked, brushed her arm on Isha's.
" Oh! Yeah. You are right. " Isha winked at her.
Her gaze traveled from Ana face to Isha, reading naughtiness in their tone. She raised her eyebrows and leaned against the car. Without any word they went in.
She moved her sight from there back to Liam. He slipped his phone in his pocket " Get in the car." Liam told her, opening the door of his car for her.
She climbed in, looking up at him. She was expecting him to say more but her expectations ended soon. These days his face calmed her. But his silence irked her. She tried to figure it out but got no result. Was this the feeling? Liam was talking about.. LOVE, voice raised from somewhere in the corner of her heart. She shook her head and put the seat belt on.
Putting on his seat belt, He ignited the engine. She glanced at him, quickly turning her sight back to the road. He was looking different today. His coat was gone, lying on the back seat of the car. His waistcoat was superbly fit around his torso. His sleeves were rolled up, showing his unique tattoo. She was craving to run her fingers on his tattoo. She was thinking how to break the silence between them.
" You can touch it. I mean watch it carefully. " he said, breaking her though.
She winced and felt a strong jerk in her body, " I I I wasn't thinking this." She lied.
He arched an eyebrow at her, " You are my wife. You have authority over all this." He smiled, turning his gaze back on the road.
" No, um you have a nice tattoo. " she said coyly, bewaring to meet her eyes with him.
It was a unique tattoo. She hadn't seen it before anywhere. It didn't mean she looked for people's tattoos in public. It was a beautiful sword with a heavy and finely curved handhold. There were two snakes crawling around the sharp blade of sword and facing each other, above the handhold angrily ready to attack.
" Thanks, " he smiled.
" Is this some kind of a symbol? " she asked.
" Hm, Mafia King. " He said, pulling over the car in front of the hospital.
She glanced out of the window, " How much time do I have? " She asked.
" Take your time. " He said, running his fingers on his phone. She glanced at him. Trepidation was enclosing her to think of going away from him. Her breaths were coming with difficulty with the thought of going away from him at the same time. She inhaled from her mouth.
' It's just fear, because you went through all that in the past days. You are fine. - She told herself.
Instead of working it, her eyes filled with water. Why was she afraid of going away from him? A sense of foreboding was clawing her, making her tears fall from her eyes.
" Rose! What happened? " He asked, taking her face in his hands.
" I'm feeling strange. Weird. I don't know. I don't wanna go far from you. I don't know what's happening to me? " She said sobbingly, scrubbing her nose with the back of her hand.
He pulled her to his chest. She felt his hand under her thighs, " It's okay. Take deep breaths. Don't think too much. He can't harm you. " He said, patting her head. He rubbed his fingers on her scalp.
She put arms around his neck. She was not fearing or thinking about Hebrew. She was feeling comfy in his arms and was scared to go away from him. She snuggled her head on his shoulder. " What about Hebrew? He'll come for revenge. " She said, making him halt for a second.
" Stop thinking too much. No one will harm you. " He said.
She stopped crying. Putting her hand on his chest, She pushed herself back. She glanced down where she was sitting?
She was sitting in his lap. Her hands were on his chest. His waist coat got wet with her tears, " I'm sorry. " She said, scouring her fingers on the wet spot.
Nodding his head, he seized her hand. He placed a soft kiss on her hand, " You wanna go home. " He wiped her tears
" No, I wanna meet them. " she said.
He stared at her for a while, " Okay. " He opened the driver side door. Travis was already waiting outside of the hospital with heavy security.
" Are you going to the office? " She asked.
" No, " He said, slightly shaking his head.
She smiled. Bringing her face closer to him. She pecked on his cheek, " I'll be fine. You should go to the office." She whispered slowly.
Shockingly, he stared at her. Wordlessly, she climbed out of the car. She knew her action had put him in shock and a pause mood. She couldn't help herself not to touch him. She walked in the hospital and did not dare to turn to look at him.
Angelina and Mel were in a private room of the hospital. Travis said Angelina was getting bored and she wanted television in her room to push away the boredom. She just told the doctor whom she worked for. They immediately agreed to have a television. Mel was in the second private room. There was security out of the door, but not to protect her. It was so she couldn't run.
She stepped in the private ward. She went into Mel's ward. Her eyes were closed. Her head was covered with white bandages. There were machines beeping around her. She didn't want to disturb them. She whirled on her ankles, stepping toward the second door. She just wanted to see her, wondering who would have hit her if Liam's men didn't do anything. She didn't come to her conscious yet and her injury was a mystery.
She walked in the second door and lifted her hand to open it. But Travis already opened it for her, " Thank you, " She said with a smile. He bowed his head.
" Rose..." She heard the weak voice of Angelina.
" How are you? I'm sorry you are in pain because of me. " She was hesitating to face her.
" I should be sorry. I couldn't protect you. " She whispered.
" Well, I'm not here to hear sorry from you. " She smiled, " How are you feeling now? " She stepped near the bed.
" I'm feeling better than before, Rose. My bad condition gave me a chance to see my daughter. " Angelina smiled.
" Miley, Is she here? " She asked, looking around.
" No, Danil sir said. She shouldn't stay long as Hebrew is still alive. She stayed for a few minutes." She sadly said.
" Yes, Hebrew is still alive." She hesitated.
" Thanks Rose, for saving my life Again. Your friends are really brave. " Angelina smiled.
She smiled small, " I know. Don't mention it. You need rest. I'll visit again. When you will not be feeling sleepy. " She said.
Angelina nodded. Biding her bye, she exited the room. Travis was waiting for her to escort her to her husband. He was sitting on the chair. There was a diamond ring in his hand. He was staring at it. His face was gloomy. Mel had broken his heart and she was aware of it.
" Travis. " She said.
" Yes, ma'am. " Travis stood up, shoving the ring in his pocket.
" How is Mel? I can talk to Liam. If you think she can mend herself for you? " She asked him.
" She'll recover soon, ma'am." He ran his gaze fastly around to secure the area, " No, we don't have any future. " He paused, " Sir is waiting for you ma'am. " He said.
She always wanted to feel these love feelings which were now totally impossible. She wanted to understand her unusual feelings which ruled over her when she intended to go away from him. She thought to ask Mel, ' How's it feel when you fall in love? ' Maybe, this could help her to comprehend what she was feeling for him. But it was quite impossible after whatever she did. Liam would never allow Mel near to her.
Going through the main door, when she reached the parking lot. She stood still, when she found him waiting for her. He lifted his head in her direction as he had listened to her running heartbeat. His sad face beamed with joy seeing her in front of him.
He sauntered at her. She couldn't stop her moving feet toward him. They halted facing each other, " Wanna go home or elsewhere? " he asked.
Can someone think this guy could be so sweet? She thought.
" Elsewhere, sounds good. " She smiled, arching her eyebrows.
Wrapping his fingers around her wrist, he led her to his car. They got in the car and drove away from the hospital. He pulled over the car, reaching Lily mansion where they came after parting from his family.
Taking hold of her wrist, he led her to the backyard garden.
His gaze was fixed on her. She sat near the shimmering water, " You tried to make it exact the same but you could. My favorite fish doesn't come to the surface to say hello to me. " She said with a smile and her eyes on water.
He sat next to her on the soft grass. She glanced at him with her lovely smile, ' Stop smiling. You can give him wrong indication. ' she thought, returning her eyes back on the water. There was a cute smile on his face. She couldn't deny to praise it in her mind.
" Liam, What happened that day with Lily? " She asked and was shocked at the same time. She wasn't even thinking about it.
Crap! I ruined the moment.
" I should go to the office. " He got up. Instantly, she held his hand when he was taking steps to walk away from her.
" It's okay. If you don't wanna talk. I'll not ask until you tell me yourself. Please don't go. " She requested him.
When his eyes shot down at her. instantly, she removed her hand. She couldn't tolerate the intensity of his eyes.
Grabbing her upper arm he tugged her up to his chest, " Don't push it, Rose. You know you're not ready. It's almost unmanageable for me. Still I'm doing, because of you. " He said, gazing in her eyes. His tone was harsh but there was reality in his words, his stormy eyes were explaining everything to her.
She was hearing her own breathing getting faster. Her heart was fluttering. " I'm not pushing anything. " She almost whispered.
He pressed his lips in a hard line, " Paul will drive you home back. " He said, taking back one long back step and unhanding her arms.
She had not seen this level of thirst for her in his eyes before. He was clenching his hand to stop himself from touching her.
" Ma'am, " Paul said.
Without a word and beholding at him. She rushed out. Sitting in the car, she tried to distract her. She brushed her hand on her cheeks to wipe unwanted hair. She felt it wet. She couldn't get it why it was hurting her to go away from him. Why were her tears streaming down? What was happening to her? She wanted to make him placate. She could do this. She knew what was his need. Her heart was wrecking in her chest. Her nose was blocked, water was flowing down her eyes continuously. There was only her respiration voice, which was getting loud by the time. She felt his touch on the back of her head. She turned her eyes, finding pain and remorse in his eyes. Hurriedly, she put her both arms around him, " What's happening to me? " She squeaked between her sobs.
" Shhh, Relax. Give yourself some time. Don't think so much. Calm down. " He whispered, stroking her back.
It was only his voice she wanted to hear, his touch wanted to feel on her body. Although, she couldn't understand developing love for him inside her heart. She was sure it was related to him. Her breathing returned normal. His strokes on her back, his voice and touch managed to placate her unease. Hugging him tightly, she closed her eyes, head resting on his chest. His heart beat rhythmically helped to return her breaths to normal, placating her jumpiness.
" Paul, " He beckoned at him.
Backing from her, he closed the door of the car. She felt emptiness inside her heart, which he could fill only.
He smiled at her and then nodded at Paul. She couldn't smile back. Paul drove the car away from him. She could feel the pain which was coming out of her eyes in the shape of salty water.
