You're not her family
Before Mrs. Linda's slap landed, one of the bodyguards grabbed her hand and twisted it with a swing, making her fall down in a tangled mess.
"What have you done? You broke my back... Ow!"
"Ouch, my waist, my waist is broken," she yelled in pain from the ground.
"Mom!" Judy's eyes widened, her face pale, and she hurried over to lift her mother from the floor.
Mrs. Linda clutched her waist, her face twisted in pain. "Honey, I can't stay in this house with Alice anymore. How can you sit back and let her bully me like this?"
Several servants who had tried to block the bodyguards were also knocked to the ground. These servants had no force training and were no match for professional bodyguards. The bodyguards effortlessly subdued them, leaving the rest of the household staff too frightened to intervene.
"Alice Lewiston, you bastard child, how dare you rebel against your uncle and his wife like this?" Judy helped her mother stand up, glaring at me. "My mom is your aunt, your elder. How can you treat her like this? Do you really think you can do whatever you want now that you have backup?"
"Your mother shouldn't have tried to slap me in the first place," I replied coolly.
Mr. Carter, trembling with rage, raised his hand to slap me. But this time, I didn't stand still. I sidestepped his slap with a determined expression.
Mr. Carter's slap missed, his anger boiling over. "How dare you hide behind bodyguards and bully your Aunt Linda?!" He raised his hand again, embarrassed by his niece in front of everyone, determined to assert his authority as the head of the family.
"Mr. Carter, if you don't want your daughter's career to crash like that of Tyson the rapper, I advise you not to be impulsive. If you slap her, you might not be able to afford the consequences."
Mr. Carter froze, hearing a cold voice from behind him. A man hurried into the room and bowed towards me.
"Sorry, Mrs. Clinton, I'm late."
As soon as I saw Personal Assistant Tony, my heart calmed. I knew that if Enzo wasn't around, Tony could handle things.
"PA Tony, where's my husband?" I asked, calling Enzo "husband" deliberately.
PA Tony bowed again. "Madam, the President asked me to inspect the situation and call him later."
Mrs. Linda and her family were stunned, unsure of what I was scheming.
Just then, a magnetic voice filled the room. "Wife, did you miss me yet?"
The man's voice was not loud, but the moment he spoke, everything fell silent.
Judy, standing next to me, initially thought her beloved Gaston Veriland had arrived, but her expression quickly changed. She widened her eyes in surprise, recognizing the nobleman who stepped into the room with a powerful aura.
It was him, the man who had accompanied me to the movie premiere. Despite being ridiculed by him before, Judy had found herself thinking about him constantly. She had always thought Gaston Veriland was her true love, but after seeing this man, she knew that her heart truly belonged to him. She wondered why I always seemed to get the men she desired.
The tension, excitement, shyness, and expectation she felt facing him were emotions she never experienced with Gaston. She realized that her real feelings were for this arrogant and obnoxious man who claimed to be my husband.
Feeling my cheeks burn with embarrassment, I nonetheless faced him. "You're here?" I said at last.
Mr. Carter eyed the newcomer, recognizing him as a rich businessman, though they had never met. "Alice, who did you bring to the house now?" he demanded.
"Dad, it's him! That handsome dude I told you about. I guess Alice borrowed him," Judy interjected.
I made to move towards Enzo, but he pulled me back and stepped forward. "Hello, Mr. Lewiston. I'm Enzo Clinton, Alice's husband. My wife never mentioned having family members, and seeing you here makes me understand why."
Before he could continue, Mr. Carter stepped up aggressively. "What are you doing, young man? You can't just butt into our family's matters, even if you're her husband."
"But you're not her family," Enzo replied firmly. "You've shown that clearly today."
Alice looked at Enzo, I don't know what to say. This is the First time someone would step up against my Outlandish family and diss them.
How can they think they can bully me like they're used to?
Enzo pulled me closer to himself and gave me a peck right there before their very eyes.
Even though it's embarrassing, I really need to spite these ingrate family of mine.
"Your daughter stole my boyfriend, You stole my father's property d you want my mum's room? Never will I ever allow that to happen" I clutched Enzo's arms
"Let's go hubby" I Suddenly find myself saying.
