I left the room afterward and heaved a huge sigh of relief.
I eased myself and cleaned my face with some water, still wiping the water that was splashed on my face, the restroom door was kicked open mercilessly.
I looked back and met the angry face of Serena Briston.
“Hi Miss Serena, I….” before I could say anything, she hissed and walked to the mirror to redo her makeup.
I was surprised, then she began, “Spill it,” she said.
What is she saying? Spill what?
“What did you mean Miss Serena”
“You don’t have to keep giving me such an innocent and puppy face, speak, why did you approach Enzo and what is your motive”
I stared at her cluelessly, what was this lady saying suddenly? I didn’t understand anything from her words, I blinked innocently.
“Miss Serena what…….”
She grabbed my hand and twisted it backward making me yelp in pain “What are you doing?”
“Why!” she suddenly shouted.
I could feel tears dancing at my eyelids, I didn’t understand anything in what she was trying to say.
“Why what?”
“Why did you suddenly appear? Why are you married to Enzo, Why not me?” she released my hand and faced the mirror. “For years I have loved him, I have shown him nothing but love, I gave him business ideas, I sometimes go to meetings with him, so why you? Who are you Alice Lewiston?”
Here I think my happy days are over. I only heard of Love rivals and villains from Camilla and others, I never expected that this is how I would be. Judy took Gaston from me but Judy didn’t do up to this level. What shall I do in this kind of matter?
I closed my eyes and let my imagination run wild. Only if I hadn’t met him, only if Kyle had not been sick, Only if I could afford his surgery then I wouldn't have to marry him; only if his body was not allergic to my touch.
I sighed, I could see the pain in Serena’s gaze. I felt bad too. This is exactly what Judy did to me. She took my long-time boyfriend and how am I different from Judy? I also took Someone’s first love.
“Then…. Miss Serena, is he not allergic to your touch too?”
“Exactly! Why is he allergic to me too? Who are you? why is he not allergic to you? Did you come from Jupiter or Neptune?”
I shook my head clueless, “I don’t know”
She ran her fingers through her hair trying to suppress the tears that was threatening to fall. I don’t know what to say, I suddenly ran out of words.
After some time, she grabbed my dress from the collar and said maliciously, “I am telling you Alice Lewiston, stop any games you might be playing and leave Enzo, or else…. I’ll” Then she released me and stormed out of the restroom.
I fell on the floor, I almost cried, then I remembered that I had been away from Enzo for a long, he could come looking for me.
Then I arranged my dress and also left.

The table became lively as Ross and Ryu cracked several jokes, Serena laughed beautifully as if nothing had happened.
Enzo, Ryu, Caleb, Ross, Serena and, Alice interacted like long-time friends. Alice was somehow surprised at Serena’s flamboyancy, she wondered how she could switch faces that quickly without difficulty.
“So tell me, Serena, did you have a crush on anyone here?” Caleb suddenly asked jokingly.
Serena stopped laughing quickly changed her expression and shot Caleb a glance. The latter kept quiet but Ross who was the joker echoed, “Why will you ask such questions? Why will Serena have a crush on anyone? Except out Big Brother Enzo?”
As he said this jokingly, the atmosphere grew heavy. Alice kept her cool all eyes on Serena waiting for what she would say.
Serena looked at Enzo who seemed not interested in their discussion. Then she said. “whether I love Enzo or not, is my choice, and besides he’s happily married now”
Ross erupted in laughter. “Oh yes, he’s married another woman that partially means she’s more responsible and more important to Enzo than you, Only if you had looked at me the way you look at Enzo, then our second kid would have been graduating from middle school” others laughed at his joke but Serena didn’t take it as a joke.
She banged her hand on the table, “Stop it! Enzo is my best friend why should I have such feelings for him?”
“Exactly” Ryu chipped in while Caleb and Ross continued to laugh.
Alice smelt trouble, she bent her head, avoiding Serena’s direct gaze. Enzo noticed this, she pulled her to his side and touched her forehead, “Sweetheart are you okay?”
She nodded, not wanting to gain attention again. But Enzo did not plan to let her off easily, “No you are not okay, did you want to leave now?”
By this time, everyone kept quiet including Serena.
Without waiting for whatever they might want to say, she stood up while cuddling Alice who bent her head in his arms, “I will have to leave first since my wife doesn’t feel comfortable any longer”
They all looked at her with questioning gaze.
He was about to leave when Ryu said, “Are you leaving us your friends here?”
Without looking back, he replied, “I only do whatever she wants”
Serena felt this was slightly offensive, she let it out; “are you trying to prove that she’s more important to you than us?”
Enzo sighed and looked back without any expression, “Nothing is more important to me than her”
“Not even us?”
“All of you included”
