“What’s gotten into you, Trevor? You’ve changed a lot since four years ago. In the past, you accused me of stabbing you in the back. Now, you’re accusing an innocent boy? Why do you suspect everyone? What really happened to you?”
Trevor’s eyes narrowed. Ben’s expression seemed sincere, but Trevor wasn’t ready to trust anyone easily.
“You invited me here to lecture me?”
“I invited you because I thought you had regained your rationality. I don’t have a problem with you canceling our collaboration back then. Despite your suspicions, your honest assessment of the project was correct. Now, I’m back with a more mature and promising project. I hope you will review it objectively.”
Macey blinked at those words. He didn’t understand what had happened between them, but he could tell that the man holding his collar was indeed troubled.
“Do you know why I followed you to this room?” Macey asked, looking up at Trevor.
“Why?” Trevor demanded.
“Because you look really cool,” Macey continued sincerely. “Your aura is like a successful CEO that everyone admires. But after seeing your irrational attitude, I don’t admire you anymore.”
Trevor was stunned. This was the first time anyone, let alone a four-year-old, had the audacity to critique him so directly.
Trevor’s pride was hurt, but he didn’t know how to handle the situation. He couldn’t exactly put the boy in a sack and throw him into the sea—the media would have a field day.
Meanwhile, Ben was amazed by Macey’s boldness. Smiling, he bent down so their eyes were level. “Do you understand what irrational means?”
Macey nodded. “It means not thinking logically. The accusation from him was completely unreasonable. How could a cute toddler like me be called a spy?”
Ben laughed heartily and ruffled Macey’s hair. “Please forgive that irrational mister, little man. Sometimes, he can be a bit crazy.”
Trevor glared at Ben, who then gently pulled Macey to stand by his side. “Now, do you mind if I take you to meet your family? Which table are you guys at?”
Macey didn’t want the annoying man to know, so he whispered the answer to Ben. He was relieved that Ben was his escape route. Now, he just had to ensure that his mischief didn’t get Balqis into trouble.

Balqis’s eyes widened when she found their table empty. She glanced around, but Macey was nowhere to be seen. Mara guessed that Macey was hiding under the table to scare them. However, after lifting the tablecloth, she started to worry.
“Where did Macey go, Mommy? Did someone kidnap him?” Mara’s tiny voice quivered.
“No one kidnapped me. I’m here,” Macey called out.
Balqis and Mara turned to see Macey walking towards them, holding hands with a stranger.
“Macey!” Mara ran and hugged her brother. “Where have you been? Mommy and I thought you were lost.”
“Good evening, Madam. Sorry to worry you. Your son—”
“Went for a walk to explore this restaurant,” Macey interrupted. “But this place is very big and majestic. I got lost. I was lucky to meet this kind mister.”
Ben froze, amazed at Macey’s quick thinking. Such a smart kid!
“Why did you walk around, Macey? Didn’t Mommy ask you to wait at the table? You are causing trouble for this kind mister.”
“Not a problem at all, ma’am. I’m actually happy to get to know your amazing son.”
Ben smiled formally at first, but after looking more closely at Balqis’s face, his smile turned genuine. He had traveled around the world, but he had never seen such a beautiful woman. Even models like Isabela didn’t shine as brightly as Balqis.
“Ben Wilson,” he said, extending his hand.
“Balqis Minaj,” she replied, shaking his hand and then turning to her son. “Macey, is there something you need to say to Mr. Wilson?”
Macey nodded quickly. Holding his sister’s hand, he looked up. “Thank you very much, Mr. Wilson. I’m glad to meet you.”
“You’re welcome, little man. I can see where you got your good looks from,” Ben said, glancing at Balqis. She blushed slightly but seemed used to receiving such compliments.
“And who is this beautiful princess? Is she your sister? Wait, are you twins?” Ben asked, wide-eyed.
Mara nodded, adjusting her imaginary crown. “Yes, Macey was born fifteen minutes earlier than me. We are fraternal twins.”
“Wow, you and your husband are very lucky to have such cute children, Mrs. Minaj.”
At these words, Balqis’s expression froze. Sensing his mother’s sadness, Macey tugged at Ben’s suit and whispered, “Please don’t mention that, sir. We don’t have a father.”
Ben almost sighed in relief. The most beautiful woman in the world didn’t have a partner!
“Sorry, Miss Minaj, I didn’t mean to offend you,” Ben said, trying to mask his gratitude with a grin.
“Never mind,” Balqis replied, looking down to hide her emotions. “As a thank you, what if you join our table, sir? Let us treat you.”
Macey laughed. “Mommy, this restaurant belongs to his family.”
Balqis was stunned. Her innocent expression made Ben’s smile widen. “It’s okay, Miss Minaj. I appreciate your kindness. How about I treat you tonight?”
