♥ Chapter 5 ♥
Caterina Vossini.
21:30 '' Nightclub. '' Valdoria.
When I arrived at the nightclub, my presence immediately attracted the attention of the people waiting in line. They watched me with curiosity and admiration, but I simply ignored them and focused on my mission. When the security guard saw me, he bowed his head in respect.
“Welcome, ma'am,” he said, opening the door for me.
I entered with Bóris and Vladimir right behind me. We headed towards the VIP area, where I took a seat on one of the luxurious leather sofas. Bóris leaned over to whisper in my ear.
''I'll look for the policeman, ma'am. Klaus, our investigator, found out about him and sent the image to Vladimir and me.
I nodded in agreement as the two of them separated in the crowd, beginning their search for the target. I began to observe my surroundings with my intense, attentive gaze. Suddenly, something caught my eye in the bar. A very young boy was preparing drinks.
He had an air of mystery about him, with his hair falling over his eyes in a way that made him intriguing. His nightclub uniform consisted of a tight black shirt, which emphasized his slender body, and black pants that shaped his legs elegantly. He was different from the men I was used to. While the men in my life were muscular and imposing, this boy had a delicacy that made him unique.
I watched him for a moment, interested in the way he moved with grace and precision. His eyes, partially hidden by his hair, shone in the light of the bar, and his nimble hands handled bottles and glasses with surprising skill. There was something about him that aroused my curiosity—something I still couldn't define, but which was certainly worth investigating more closely.
I sighed and nodded, pushing thoughts of the boy aside. I was there to eliminate the policeman, not to take an interest in someone who could be my son or nephew, if I had sisters. But knowing my mother's life, I probably did. She always used men for her own pleasure.
Suddenly, I felt my cell phone vibrate in my pants pocket. I picked it up and saw that it was a message from Vladimir: “We found the policeman. We're in the alley waiting for you.”
A grim smile appeared on my lips as I stood up. I walked past the people, my gaze fixed on the objective. The crowd seemed to open up in front of me, as if they sensed the danger I represented. I reached the back doors and pushed them open, leaving the VIP area with determination.
When I reached the alleyway, I found the policeman trying to break free of Bóris' grip. He was desperate, and that amused me. I let out a low laugh and approached him calmly, my voice sounding as cold as ice.
'' Did you really think you could hide from us? That you could go on gathering information with impunity? Your greed and arrogance brought you here, invading my territory and thinking you'd get away with it. You should have been content with the crumbs David gave you, but you preferred to test the limits of my patience.
The policeman looked angrily at me, his arrogance still intact despite his obvious fear.
''You only guarantee yourself because of your male security guards. A woman can't defend herself on her own.
I laughed out loud, amusement evident on my face.
'' You think I don't know how to defend myself? Very well. Let him go, Bóris. '' I turned to the policeman, a defiant smile on my lips. ''Come on, come and hit me. If you can get to me, I'll let you live.
As soon as Bóris let go of him, the policeman lunged at me, but I dodged gracefully. He tried to punch me again, but each attempt was in vain. I kept dodging, playing with him with a constant smile on my face.
''Are you getting tired?'' I teased, my voice dripping with sarcasm.
He tried again, but I dodged easily, and then I decided it was time to end the game. When he threw another punch, I held his fist in the air and kneed him in the stomach. He fell to his knees on the floor, groaning in pain.
''Let's see how you do with that.'' I muttered, reaching out for his arm, and, with one swift, vicious movement, I drove a knee into his arm, breaking it.
His scream echoed through the alley, a sweet sound to my ears.
'' Remember what you said about a woman not being able to defend herself? '' I asked, my voice low and full of venom. '' I believe I've just proved otherwise.
I took a step back, watching him writhing in pain on the floor, and a cold smile curled my lips.
With a firm movement, I stomped hard on the policeman's chest, causing him to gasp and cough. My cruel laughter echoed through the alley as I looked at him with disdain.
'' You should have kept quiet, living your shitty life freely, but you wanted to get involved in something you shouldn't have. What a shame. '' I said sarcastically, amused to see the expression of anger and impotence on his face.
With a calculated move, I pulled my gun from my waistband and pointed it at him. My voice became even colder and crueler.
''Since you've made use of the information, I'll make use of your organs. They'll sell well on the black market.
