♥ Chapter 30♥
Axel Knight.
One week later.
"Is everything ready, love?" I asked as I watched Elara close her suitcase.
"Yes, I can’t believe we're going to the United States." She was radiant.
"Neither can I!" I kissed her cheek. "The best part is we don't even need tickets, right?" I joked, making her laugh.
"Definitely." She grabbed her suitcase. "Shall we?"
"Let's go."
We went downstairs and found her parents and Orion.
"I'm going to miss you two so much." Thalia was being dramatic as always.
"Mom, we're only going to be gone for five days. It's not that long." Thalia pouted.
"Five days is an eternity! I hate you, Axel. You're kidnapping my precious daughter." We all laughed at her theatrics.
"Dear, Elara is an adult now." Mr. Dante interjected.
"You'll take care of her, won't you?" Elara asked Orion, who was holding both snakes in his arms.
"Of course, and when you get back, she'll prefer to stay with me." I rolled my eyes at his confidence.
"Confident, aren't we? Well, we need to go." Elara went to her mother and hugged her. "I'll miss you, Mom."
"Just come back soon and safely." I smiled at her concern.
"We definitely will, Thalia, don't worry." I assured her, smiling.
Elara hugged her father, and then Orion.
"I'll message you as soon as we arrive in the United States." Elara said, and Thalia nodded.
We left the mansion and headed to the car, where Yenki was waiting to take us to the airport.
"I'll take you to the beach." I told Elara, and she agreed excitedly. Since there isn't a beach in our city, it's a very special place for her.
"I can't wait to see it. And I want to try all the delicious food. I'm so excited, Axel."
Her enthusiasm filled me with joy. I love her so much.
"We're going to have so much fun, sweetheart." I kissed her softly on the lips.
I looked forward and saw Yenki watching us through the rearview mirror. Furthermore, I gave him a stern look, but he just smiled.
I know he's happy that I finally admitted my feelings for Elara.
I sighed and placed my hand on her thigh while looking out the window.

We got out of the car, and I looked at Yenki.
"Yenki, load our luggage onto the jet." I ordered, trying to stay calm.
"Just because I looked at you in the car?" He seemed surprised.
"Exactly because of that. Now, go. Remember who’s paying you." I was firm but didn't want to be rude.
Elara chuckled softly.
"You're something else, love." She smiled and kissed my forehead.
"I know. Now, let's go."
We headed to the private jet, and Yenki passed by me sulking, which made me laugh.
We boarded the jet, and I still couldn’t believe what was happening. We were going on a trip together. Incredible.
"Well, let’s get settled." I guided her to the seats.
She sat next to me, and I held her hand.
"I think you took care of everything."
"Yes, love. I booked the best hotel in New York and converted the money to dollars." She looked at me, surprised.
"Axel, you're becoming like my parents now?"
I huffed at the comparison.
"It’s my money, and I want to ensure we have the best experience." She rolled her eyes.
"You're definitely starting to act like my parents, you can't deny it."
I smiled and kissed her forehead.
"Alright, my love."
I woke up to Elara shaking my shoulder frantically.
"I'm awake, I'm awake!" I said, and she smiled.
"We've arrived, love." She was beaming, and her excitement was contagious.
"Welcome to the United States, darling." She flashed a huge smile.
"Thank you, love. I'm so excited to explore this place."
"I'm going to show you so many amazing places."
"I can't wait, love. It's my first time leaving Zefinópolis." Her enthusiasm was infectious.
I felt like the luckiest man in the world to have her by my side. I'm happy I had the courage to admit my feelings for her. Finally, she is mine.
"We're going to have so much fun, love. Now, let's get off the plane."
She quickly unbuckled her seatbelt and rushed outside; the pilots had already taken our luggage off the jet.
I followed quickly, watching her eyes sparkle with excitement.
"Welcome, my love." I kissed her shoulder.
"This place is incredible."
Even though I've been here many times for missions, this is her first time here, and I want it to be special.
"Well, let's get going. We need to get to our hotel. I know you're tired." She nodded.
I looked at the pilot.
"I want you to be here to pick us up in five days." They nodded in agreement. "Let's go, love."
Although I had several contacts in the city, I realized I had been negligent in organizing transportation in advance.
"We can call an Uber or take a taxi, whichever comes first."
"Alright, let's go."
We headed out of the airport and saw some taxis waiting. I decided it would be quicker than waiting for an Uber.
"Let's take a taxi," I said, and Elara agreed.
"What's the difference between Uber and a taxi?" She asked, since we don't have Uber in our city, and taxis are rare as most people have their own cars.
"With Uber, you request a ride through an app, while taxis can be hailed from anywhere without needing an app." I explained.
I approached a taxi driver who was smoking.
"Excuse me, sir, are you available?" I asked politely.
"Of course I am, why ask?" He responded rudely, which irritated me.
"I just asked, damn it! There is no need to try to bite my head off with that rudeness. You know what? Go to hell!" I turned my back on him and walked back to Elara, who was waiting for me.
