Chapter One Hundred and Thirty-Nine

Kelley sat on the edge of the bed, his clothes lay in a heap on the floor and he looked up when the bathroom door opened. Milana walked toward him slowly and his eyes gazed over her nudity. Her hair tumbled over her shoulders and he couldn't look away from her.
She pushed him down on the bed and straddled his thighs. His hands cupped her ass and he pulled her forward on top of his erection. She arched her neck and closed her eyes as he fumbled to get his boxers off.
She slid her wet sex over his cock, teasing him. Kelley looked intently at her, his eyes memorizing her every curve before he lifted her and aligned his cock with her opening. He thrust in hard and Milana's hands gripped his shoulders. She started moving slowly and Kelley had to fight against every instinct to turn them around and fuck her without abandon.
He matched her rhythm, thrusting up when she pushed down. Kelley could feel his release building, his balls tightening and his spine tingling. Her clenching muscles sped things along and when she cried out, Kelley came as he thrusted into her hard a few more times.
That night, Kelley slept like the dead. It was the first night in weeks that he slept right through with no haunting dreams. The following morning, he showered and dressed in a suit before going to his study. The funeral would start at eleven and afterwards everyone would return to the house to celebrate Blain’s life.
He ate breakfast alone in his study since it was seven am and nobody else was up yet. He printed the documents he would need and placed them inside a folder in his briefcase. He worked until ten when Milana opened his study door.
Kelley looked up from his laptop and took in every inch of her. To him, she was the most gorgeous woman and he loved everything about her. She was one of the reasons he kept fighting, kept working so hard to keep them all safe.
“Good morning,” she said and walked around his desk, already dressed for the funeral.
Kelley pushed his chair back and pulled her onto his lap and kissed her. “A good morning it is,” he agreed as she smiled and climbed off his lap.
“Can I use your laptop to order a few things? I think I left my cable on the island,” Milana asked.
“Of course. I need to head out for a bit. I’ll be along later.”
“Where are you going?” she asked him with a frown.
“Nowhere you should worry about. Ask Marley if you can drive with them.” Kelley said and kissed the top of her head as she sat down on his seat.
Kelley left his study and knocked on a door on the second floor. Kirk opened it and pulled his jacket on. “Let’s go.”
“I’m driving with you?” Kirk looked at the watch on his wrist.
“We’re stopping somewhere first.”
Kirk followed Kelley down the stairs and into the foyer. Connor peeked his head out of the kitchen doorway. “Where are you two going?”
“We’ll be back in a bit,” Kelley said and opened the front door.
“Kelley … are you armed?”
Kelley smirked as he looked at Connor. “Always.”
They walked to the garage in silence and Kirk climbed into the SUV when Kelley unlocked the doors. Kelley reversed out of the garage and Kirk swallowed nervously when he turned onto the street. “Kelley, where are we going?”
“To the warehouse for a meeting.”
“A meeting?” Kirk asked.
“With Marcus.”
“I’m assuming you have a plan, right?”
Kelley smiled as they drove through the streets. “I always have a plan.”
They drove in silence for twenty minutes and Kelley finally stopped in front of their warehouse. He pressed a button on a remote and opened the garage style door on the side and pulled the SUV inside the parking bay.
“What time is Marcus coming?”
“Eleven,” Kelley said. He’d changed the meeting to an earlier time this morning when he texted Marcus the address.
“What do you need from me?”
“Nothing. Just sit there and look pretty,” Kelley said and Kirk barked out a laugh.
“I’m no Mason but I think I can pull it off.”
Kelley switched on the lights and unlocked the meeting room with his thumbprint and a pin code. The lights automatically switched on when the door opened and Kelley looked at his watch. “You wait in here. This room is sound proof and blocks all cell communications.”
“Right, boss,” Kirk said and Kelley grinned at him.
Kelley walked back to the front offices of the warehouse and sat down on the couch. It was ten to eleven and he pulled his phone out when it pinged.
Steel – Milana’s feeling unwell. I’m staying at the house with her.
Kelley – Thank you, Steel.
Kelley put his phone on silent and back inside his jacket pocket just as another SUV pulled to a stop in front of the warehouse. Kelley stood up from the couch and watched as Marcus and Lewis got out. Lewis looked around and Kelley walked to the front door and opened it.
“If you’re armed, the detector will go off. You asked for this meeting in good faith so leave your weapons in your car.”
“We’re not armed, Kelley,” Marcus said as he walked around the front of his car towards Kelley.
Kelley stepped back and let them walk inside. The detector didn’t go off and they followed Kelley down the hallway. Marcus and Lewis walked into the meeting room first and stopped in their tracks. Kelley closed the door behind him and walked past them.
“Kirk will join us in this meeting,” Kelley said as he sat down.
“We thought you were dead!” Lewis exclaimed.
Kelley stood on the other side of the room and looked at Marcus. “You asked for this meeting, Marcus.”
“I want to know who shot Charles,” Marcus said.
“You’re not in a position to make any demands here. Stop wasting my time and tell me what you want,” Kelley said stoically.
“We want to propose a truce but I also want to know who shot Charles,” he replied.
“I don’t think it’s important to know who shot Charles. What am I getting if I agree to this truce?”
“A truce is beneficial for all of us, it’s not a situation where I have to give you anything,” Marcus said.
