Chapter 19: Have You Fallen for Me?

Brandon's tall and straight body suddenly stiffened.
His gloomy, bloodthirsty eyes were like blocks of ice in a cold pool that could freeze people to death instantly.
After staring at her for a while, he quickly pulled out his hand and tore off more than ten wet wipes, frantically wiping his fingers.
Seeing his actions, Annie couldn't help but sneer. "Mr MacDonald already told you we slept together, yet Mr Ross still wants to check? Why bother?"
Her eyes and mouth were filled with laughter, showing no signs of being ashamed or angry but instead full of the atmosphere of the world.
Her indifferent attitude and repeated provocations made Brandon lose his temper suddenly despite having excellent manners.
He threw away the torn, wet wipes in his hand and fiercely pinched her chin with all his strength until her small white chin turned blue instantly from the force applied by him.
Annie was so painful that her face turned pale, but Brandon didn't care about her expression as he approached her face directly.
"Have I not told you before that anything used by me cannot be touched by anyone else?"
With murderous intent in his eyes, he squeezed harder on her chin as if trying to dislocate it completely from its socket.
This was the first time Annie had seen Brandon get so angry; she was slightly stunned. She wasn't deliberately provoking him; it was only because she had been humiliated several times by him that she fought back this way.
She never expected him to be so angry, though - didn't he not care about her? So why is he getting so mad?
Enduring the pain, Annie raised her gaze courageously and asked him: "Are you falling for me since you're concerned whether others have slept with me or not?"
Having followed him for five years without ever seeing such an emotional outburst, there must be some affection between them, right?
Thinking of this, Annie's dim eyes gradually lit up with hope. She stared at him intently, hoping to see a hint of fondness in his eyes.
But she saw nothing but disgust and disdain.
"What I care about, don't you know?" Brandon coldly retorted, causing the light in Annie's eyes to suddenly dim.
Of course, she knew what he cared about; it was just that she was unwilling to accept it.
When you love someone for so long, you always want something in return - even if it is only a little bit.
However, Brandon was not an ordinary person; he had OCD tendencies. People with this condition find it difficult to accept things they have played with being touched by others within a short period of time.
He got angry because he felt disgusted inside...
Annie hooked her mouth into a self-deprecating smile and said: "It seems like I'm overthinking things again...but..."
She paused for a moment before continuing: "I asked you before whether I could date someone or not, and you said 'whatever.' Since I am dating someone now, isn't it normal for him to touch me? Does Mr Ross still forbid anyone from touching me?"
Brandon looked stunned for a moment as his already cold face became even more gloomy.
Seeing that he had no response left made Annie suddenly bold enough to raise her hand and touch his eyebrows and eyes gently from the top down while being cautious.
This man whom she had loved for five years - how could she bear hurting him like this?
But he didn't love her back; not even the slightest bit of liking towards her existed within him. So why couldn't she let go?
As she watched him become lost in thought momentarily after feeling her touch on his face,
Brandon suddenly grabbed hold of her wrist tightly.
"Don't touch me!" He spat out coldly, "Dirty!"
Annie knew he would react this way, but hearing him say it again made her heartache.
She gritted her teeth and suppressed her emotions as she looked at the hand that was holding onto hers tightly.
"Mr Ross, if you dislike me so much, why are you still holding my hand? Could it be that you can't bear to let me go?" She smiled brightly with a face full of indifference as if all the obedience and docility from before were just an act; only now was she being true to herself.
Brandon seemed to have seen through her facade; his murderous intent faded away, replaced by indifference.
Without any hesitation or nostalgia, he pushed Annie towards the car door and threw a cheque in front of her face.
"You've been sleeping with me for five years - this is your service fee."
