Chapter 20 Buried in the Grave

The check was made of a rigid material that scratched her face and hurt painfully.
She stood still briefly before calmly bending down to pick up the check. When she saw the amount on it, bitterness spread throughout her chest.
Five years for fifty million dollars is entirely worth it. Five years ago, she needed money. But now, she doesn't need it anymore since you can't take it with you when you die.
Annie smiled indifferently and put the check back in the car. "Mr Ross is very generous, but if I took your money, I wouldn't be able to marry into the MacDonald family cleanly."
What she meant was that fifty million dollars wasn't much compared to being a young lady of the MacDonald family. Accepting his money would also affect her chances of marrying into a wealthy family.
It wasn't until this moment that Brandon understood why she didn't want any of his money - because she had plans to marry into a wealthy family.
The doubt in his heart completely dissipated, and when he looked at her again, he felt like he was looking at a stranger without any emotions.
"Annie, from now on, never appear in front of me again."
Annie smiled nonchalantly. "Don't worry." She would never have another chance to appear in front of him because there was no future for her anymore.
That love deep within him would also be buried in time, and nobody would ever know...
After Benjamin parked their car outside Brandon's private estate, and got out quickly, intending to find Brandon inside; however, just then, an orange Koenigsegg drove into the garden area.
A man nearly two meters tall stepped out from the car.
Despite his height, he had perfect proportions, which exuded an aura so arrogant that people dared not approach him easily.
Even Benjamin felt intimidated seeing such Brandon, let alone his opponents.
He adjusted his mood and walked up to Brandon. "Brandon, you're back?"
He wanted to ask where Brandon had gone since he left Pacha Nightclub before him but returned later.
However, seeing that Brandon's face was dark and unpleasant, he didn't ask.
Without responding, Brandon went straight into the villa past Benjamin. The servant waiting at the entrance bowed respectfully and called out "Mr Ross" when he saw him come in.
After taking off his suit jacket and tie, and handed over to the servant, Brandon walked over to the liquor cabinet.
He casually took two high-end wine glasses and poured some sober red wine into them before turning around to hand one of them over to Benjamin.
"What's up?" Benjamin rarely visited his private villa so late at night; therefore, there must be something important that he wanted to talk about with him.
Benjamin received the glass of red wine from him while looking at him for a moment, then said: "Did Miss Hart offend you before?"
It was surprising for Benjamin, who knew how gentlemanly Brandon usually acted, when he saw that he used alcohol on a woman's head without hesitation. He guessed Annie was probably the woman whom Brandon had kept outside for five years but never met himself until tonight when things got weird between them both.
At first glance, she looked like Annika, so maybe she was just a substitute for her in his mind.
But later on, it turned out that their family's beloved son lost control because of Miss Hart or, more accurately, became jealous!
Anyone could get jealous except for their family's beloved son; this wasn't good news.
