Chapter 30 Fiona's Wedding
When Fiona saw Annie locking her suitcase, she hurriedly stepped forward to stop her but was pushed away.
Fiona sighed helplessly and said, "Annie, why are you so stubborn?
After locking the suitcase, Annie hugged Fiona's arm coquettishly.
"You have cared for me since we were young, but I haven't done anything for you. So just take it as my gift to my elder sister."
Fiona still disagreed. Annie had a hard time living normally every day; how could she accept her money? But Annie insisted on giving it to her anyway, so Fiona reluctantly took the bank card from her. She planned to return it to Annie's room on the day of her wedding.
She couldn't take the hard-earned money that belonged to Annie no matter what happened in the future.
After packing up some things together, they lay down in a room with one bed like they did when they were young girls - putting on face masks while dreaming about their futures.
Fiona talked about Brandon and how breaking up with him was good because he was too high-profile and would never marry an ordinary person like them. She advised Annie to find an elite white-collar worker who matched their status and earned enough money to avoid financial worries in the future. This two-bedroom apartment would be their pre-marital property which either of them could move back into if needed after starting families later on.
This house was their backing and shelter; as long as they had this pre-marital property, there was nothing for them to fear.
Annie agreed without showing any signs of suspicion or doubt at all. Instead, she held onto Fiona's arm, feeling very happy knowing she had such a loving older sister. Even if God took her life early, she wouldn't regret anything anymore.
She fell asleep peacefully, holding onto Fiona like she did when they were young. It was the most peaceful night's sleep she had in days, but time passed quickly, and before they knew it, it was already Fiona's wedding day.
Annie felt a little reluctant to let Fiona go, but she knew that from now on, there would be more people in her life than just herself - there would be Joseph and his family too. So Annie kept her feelings of reluctance hidden inside and happily helped Fiona with everything.
After the makeup artist finished doing their makeup at home, the photographer took many photos of them together while also recording a video of Joseph coming to pick up his bride.
Joseph burst into the room with his groomsmen after breaking down the door; he was so excited that he hugged his new wife tightly as they went downstairs.
Annie followed behind them, holding up Fiona's dress with a smile.
They held their wedding ceremony at a hotel first before going to their honeymoon suite afterwards. The hotel wasn't very luxurious, but it had everything they needed for their special day.
It was clear that Joseph valued Fiona very much, which made Annie feel even more relieved about leaving her sister in someone else's care.
Fiona had no relatives present except for the orphanage director, who came to give away the bride. All of the guests sitting in attendance were relatives from Joseph's side of the family.
The theme for this romantic starry sky wedding was set by lighting effects, creating an atmosphere full of stars shining brightly around them.
Countless roses bloomed along both sides of the T-stage while spotlights shone continuously, creating dazzling starlight effects everywhere you looked.
Fiona wore a white wedding dress standing at one end of the T-stage where twinkling lights dotted around her body, making her look like she belonged among galaxies - sparkling brilliantly.
Seeing this momentary image made Annie slowly turn red-eyed because this was Fiona, who had accompanied her for half of her life. She placed Fiona's hand in Joseph's, and from this moment on, Fiona would start a new chapter in her life without any regrets.
The emcee hosted the wedding ceremony and proceeded to the ring exchange segment. Just as Joseph was about to put the diamond ring on Fiona's finger, an untimely voice suddenly interrupted the lively scene -
"Why wasn't I invited to such a grand wedding?"
