Chapter 35 Playing Excitingly in Normal Times

After being blindfolded, she saw nothing but darkness and couldn't even see a glimmer of light.
The fear of the dark made her feel like she had fallen into an endless abyss, struggling to escape but unable to do so.
Under the shock, she broke out in a cold sweat, and her legs gave way uncontrollably.
With her eyes covered and hands tied up, she had completely lost control!
The only thing she could do now was to calm down and try to communicate with him.
"Excuse me."
She gritted her teeth and asked tremblingly: "What are you going to do?!"
The man didn't answer her question. Instead, he picked her up horizontally.
Annie felt herself lifted off the ground instantly. Then there was a dizzying sensation as she was thrown onto a soft bed.
She thought the man wanted to violate her, but he didn't touch her. Instead, he sat beside her on the bed.
Feeling that there was a dip in front of the bed, Annie guessed that she lay in the middle position on it.
She remembered hiding a short knife behind the pillow just now. As long as she moved towards it, she could get hold of it and cut off the binding rope.
Immediately using all strength from both legs, Annie tried moving upwards along with them until almost touching the pillow when suddenly feeling his body pressing down on hers while hearing his hoarse voice near her ear:
"You invited Carl to this hotel room for fun by drugging him without telling him beforehand. What's your intention?"
Annie froze for a moment.
Did Carl figure out what I'm planning and send this guy over intentionally?
Impossible!
Knowing Carl's character well enough, if he knew that I wanted to kill him, he probably would have sent someone who'd chop me into pieces for dog food.
"It's just a party drug."
She forced herself to remain calm and replied.
She didn't know who this man was, so she would never tell him the truth.
The man seemed to sneer: "Role-playing again, drugging again. It seems that you guys play very excitingly in normal times."
Annie saw that he believed her words and immediately pursed her lips without saying anything more.
Her silence seemed to anger the man. Then, suddenly, his chin was pinched by an icy hand.
Just when Annie wondered if the man wanted to kill her by choking her neck, a ringing phone interrupted them...
The terrifying atmosphere of the silent room was instantly broken.
The man let go of Annie's chin and picked up her phone instead.
Annie noticed he wanted to answer it and begged quickly: "It's Mr MacDonald calling me urgently. Please let me answer it?"
Seeing how nervous she looked, his hoarse voice suddenly turned cold: "What? Afraid he'll find out about your affair?"
"No!"
Annie felt anxious but tried hard not to show emotion while pleading with him: "Please let me take this call. If I don't pick up, my friend will surely be in trouble! You can ask me whatever you want after I finish talking with him!"
Her constant begging made the man loosen up slightly.
Annie thought he would untie her bindings but unexpectedly only cut open the answering key on speakerphone mode instead.
Before she could say anything else, Carl started cursing loudly from the other end:
"Annie, you bitch! How dare you deceive me?! If I don't see those contracts tonight, your best friend Fiona and Joseph will die on their wedding night!!!"
This loud sound almost tore through Annie's eardrums as if wanting to shred everything apart around here!
Terrified beyond belief now yet still worried about Fiona & Joseph's safety at the same time, Annie tried to calm herself down and spoke in a gentle tone: "Mr MacDonald, I was just about to send you my address when you called. I'm at Emperor Hotel, room 2088, waiting for you. Please come quickly."
Carl was so angry that he gritted his teeth: "You bitch! My men are already on their way to Fiona's wedding chamber! Once I arrive at your hotel, if those contracts aren't there, they'll be dealt with immediately! Do you hear me?!"
