Violet POV
DING
I took a deep sigh and looked to the right to Jason's suite. It was the first door that I approached after coming out of the elevator.
Without a doubt, I knocked on the door twice and waited for him to answer. A light creak crawled my skin, converting to goosebumps as Jason opens the door widely.
He stood there, shirtless with his t-shirt tucked in his hand, wearing his sweatpants and water droplets dripping from his chest and his hair.
''My bad, didn't expect you to come that early,'' he smiled, placing his shirt on and nods his way for me to go in.
''Yeah, sure,'' I mumbled.
I walked in, circling around the suite and notice the enormous view of the city of San Francisco. The night lights gave it an aesthetic vibe in the suite along with the dimmed lights above the ceilings.
I turned around to Jason and said. ''Okay, please make this quick because I have to be at the show tomorrow by nine, and I need my sleep so... yeah.''
''Violet, I don't know how to say that I'm sorry but, I am. The things that I said I said it out of anger, and you should have not heard that. I was angry that you didn't give me the chance and I blame myself for letting you go.''
''You watched me cried in front of you, you didn't even flinch-''
''--Which was the worst decision that I've done. I let the ego get the best of me and I knew I could have made things different if I wasn't so prideful about it. I'm sorry. Please, let me make things right Violet.''
''Jason.''
His dark eyes blinked open when I said his name, his arms coming up to pull me on top of him, his sleep-heavy voice whispering, ''Violet.''
He pulled me ever so close, brushing his lips against mine in a powerful, intense kiss.
I was enjoying how his soft lips moved over my mouth, his taste addictive. I tilted my head and the kiss deepened. His touch warmed every inch of my skin as our tongues danced in perfect harmony.
I pulled myself back and shook my head. ''I'm sorry, I can't... I just can't do this Jason.''
''Why?'' He sighed, breathing heavily and looked at me with confusion.
''I just can't... It's overwhelming me, plus you are with Danielle--'''
''-We broke up.''
''Are you saying that to make me feel better?''
''No, Violet, why would I want to do that to you?''
"I don't know Jason it's hard to believe that a billionaire like you likes me.''
''Of course, I like you, Violet, I always did,'' he retorted. ''You act like I don't know you--''
''---You don't know me, Jason, you don't even know my favorite color is--''
''---Blue,'' he responded quickly.
''What?''
''Your favorite color is Blue. What? You just think I'm some stoic boss that doesn't notice their employees?''
I shrugged.
''Violet, I study you. I know you, the smallest things that I've noticed about you since you worked for me. You know when you get nervous, you start playing with your thumbs.''
''How?--''
''--You are doing it right now.''
I sighed and looked down timidly, feeling that guilt churned in my stomach.
Jason cleared his throat and continued to speak.
''Maybe I should leave you be, I think it's best for us for now.I'm still trying to fix myself, building walls, recovering from the past then you came back, showered me attention I never thought I deserve, you gave me another reason to laugh when I can't even smile, you made me feel like my old happy self once again and that terrifies me every time. Perhaps I was wrong for expecting too much from you.''
''What are you trying to say?''
''I'm letting you go, Violet.''
A lone tear tracked down my cheek, and just like that, the floodgates opened. So many tears burst forth like water from a dam, spilling down my face. My chin trembled as if I was a small child. I breathed heavier than I ever had before.
''Okay. I guess I'll let you go too.''

[ the next morning ]
It was the second day of the fashion show for Coast Apparel over at The Pearl. The show was starting and I was backstage with the models, executive production, director, other designers, and makeup artists.
The pop music was playing in the background which was the cue for the models to walk down in the runway and show off the new clothing line of Coast Apparel.
After switching the models with four different looks, the show was over and everyone got up from their seats, cheering for a successful show that we presented to other brands.
''Violet, we did it! We impressed so many people, this is a huge skyrocket of our company,'' said Sadie.
''Thank you, I really was inspired and wanted to make a change in the industry.''
''I'm very proud of you Vi, you're a great fit here,'' she smiled. We both hugged each other as Sadie leaves me to myself.
I wandered around in the venue, finding my way out back outdoors when I was stunned upon by Jason and his friend, surrounding with a group of women, giggling and flirting with them.
''--He was like hell yeah I'll go!'' The friend said. The girls fall out of laughter, flirting back to them and continued to sip on their drinks. ''My friend is single and ready to mingle,'' he added, and of course, the girls giggled flirtatiously.
It is a sudden thought; an impulse hitting directly my head. Suddenly, my mind went blank and all I could think about is to cry.
This gut feeling made me felt a bit icky on the inside like I've gotten a weird stomach pain and I don't even know why it was happening to me.
I turned around quickly and find myself rushing into the bathroom. I was gasping for air that simply wasn't there. My throat burned to form a silent scream. It was more than crying, it was the kind of desolate sobbing that comes from a person drained of all hope.
''- You love him, don't you?'' A female voice echoed through. I recognized the voice and turn myself around to see that Jessica was standing there with dark blue jeans, baby blue tee, with a Chanel bag in her hand.
''Wh.. what?''
''Jason?'' She pulled out a small Kleenex pocket tissue and hand it over to me.
''Thanks,'' I sighed.
''You're welcome. You know, if you truly care about Jason, why don't you tell him how you feel.''
''It's just too hard, I'm too afraid plus being with a billionaire is so--''
''--Intimating? Yeah, I get it.''
I sniffed.
''The longer you wait, the more it's going to hurt you. Violet, it's clear that both of you have feelings for each other. I see the way he looks at you as if he has won a trophy. He loves you, I know it, I just hope you two can figure it out.''
''He said he's letting me go.''
''That's bullshit.''
Before I replied, her phone ringed from her purse and she quickly said to me ''I wish you luck, I have to go.''
''The tissue?''
''Keep it. I gotta go. Stay strong girl."
"I'll try."

By midnight, I've reached to my suite and was packing my clothes for my early flight. I stumbled across a note with Jason's handwriting with a necklace he gave to me.
Slowly, I opened the note and read what it says.
Violet,
Even though we have been
separated for a while
Your presence has been longing
like a ghost in my mind
I regret how we ended things
And I missed you so
I need you to know that
I love you.
I wish you all the happiness in the world
And I hope that you find a love in your life that is fulfilling and lasting, you deserve it.
No matter where life takes you
I hope you never forget that I am always loving you.
- Jason
