Violet POV

''Say yes!'' Jessica and Aubree shouted.

Jason shot back ''Guys! Can you not!'' He laughed.

I heaved a sigh and look back to Jason.

The tears made wet tracks down my face and dripped from my wobbling chin. ''Yes, I want to marry you, Jason.''

''Okay,'' he smiled. He placed the ring through my finger and gets up from the ground. ''I love you, Vi,'' he whispered.

''I love you, Jay,'' I replied.

Our fingers locked together similar to puzzle pieces. As the soft skin of his mouth left the side of my face, the exact spot where they had come into contact tingled.

''Let's go,'' he said to me. We went over to Jessica, Cameron, Aubree, and Caesar standing around in a circle.

Jason was in a good mood. I can see the spark in his eyes on how excited he is for the baby and for this engagement.

There was something about the way he smiled; the way butterflies seemed to escape from the pit of his stomach and the way the sun had somehow toppled down from the sky and made a home right there in his heart. He had the kind of smile that made you feel happy to be alive and just that little bit more human.

''I want to thank everyone for being here with me and my fiancè Violet. I cherish each moment of my life and feel so blessed because I have such great friends and family around me.

Before I met Violet, I didn't think love was for me. It was something other people had and felt. Something in movies and in TV shows. It felt more like a wish I had then something real. Now that I'm with her, love is so much more tangible. It's something I can reach out and touch.

And I'm excited about whats more to come.''

"Salut!" Caesar shouted.

''Salut!'' Everyone else cheered, raising their glasses in the air after Jason's heartwarming speech.

The party resumed with laughter, stories from Cameron and Jessica, and with music. It was refreshing to see that everyone was here celebrating the baby shower with me and Jason.

It was late by nine when Jason and I went back to our home. He dims the lights low and walks me over to the stairs.

''Close your eyes, I have a surprise for you,'' he said to me.

''I swear Jason if it's one of those pranks that you and Cameron did back in the day--''

''--It's not a prank, Jesus woman,'' he laughed with a little snort at the end.

''Okay, ready?'' He asked and I shook my head yes. ''One, Two, Three, Ta-da!,'' he sings at the end.

I widened my eyes to see a nursery room for our baby girl, completely finished filled in with purple and pink decor all around. My eyes were filled in with tears, emotionally happy to see how beautiful the room looked.

''Jason, I.. oh man, I don't have the words,'' I said.

''You don't have to say anything, I already know,'' He smiled.

I lean over to his face and kissed him on the cheek slowly. ''A piano?"

''Yeah, just in case if you need a little entertainment for our baby, I'm here. And Cameron of course, but you know.''

I snickered. ''Show me what you got.''

''Oh yeah? Is that a challenge I hear miss thang?''

I giggled. ''Yeah, I want to see some magic with the piano.''

"Alright, you asked for it.''

He went over to the grand piano and started to play the keys of Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. I laughed and said ''wow, that's so basic.''

''What?'' He laughed with me.

''Come on, I know you more than a basic piano song.''

''Don't disrespect the classic babe,'' he said. I sat down next to him as he cracked his fingers and placed his hands on the keys again.

He played the chords of Stay With Me by Sam Smith.

♩Oh, won't you stay with me

'Cause you're all I need

This ain't love, it's clear to see

But darling, stay with me ♩

His eyes were the color of hot cocoa, sprinkled with tiny flecks of gold like mini marshmallows. He wraps his hands around mine and I let out a soft sigh.

''What are you thinking about?'' He asked.

''Us, our future together.''

''What about it love?''

''When I think of our future I get a bit scared sometimes. Like what if we're horrible parents, what if I don't raise my girl right it's so--''

''Overwhelming? Yeah, I know.''

He placed his thumb on my chin and rubs it gently in a vertical motion.

''I overthink too much,'' I whispered.

''You do,'' He said. ''But that doesn't matter right now babe. I know our love is strong and powerful, as long as we both are here with each other nothing matters.''

''You sure?''

''Yes, love, I'm sure. I married you with my eyes and soul on that night in Italy. I married you with my heart and every future dream. I saw all of you, the joys and the sorrows, and I knew I was home.''

His hand reaches for mine and they interlock as we kiss tentatively, passionately and then, tenderly. ''Violet Vella, you're so beautiful and I can't wait for you to be my wife.''
