Jason POV
My eyes scanned the crowd, spotting Violet at the bar with a scowl on her face.
What the hell was she so pissed about?
Gary was announcing to the audience of an award for me for the best partnership in 2018. I was facing the crowd as everyone was clapping voluminously, watching me receiving the award and listened to my speech.
"Thank you, thank you. Ladies and gentlemen, I cannot thank you enough for this award.
This award is for all the young ones in the crowd tonight. For those who have an idea but don't think it's good enough.
For the children who will grow up and have an idea that will revolutionize the world. Encourage them like I had been encouraged because had it not been for the faith my parents had in me...."
My eyes met with Violet and they were angry, and I couldn't blame her. But I couldn't allow her anger to deter me from my speech. This was getting serious, more serious than I could've imagined it would.
After the speech, everyone whistle and even clapped even more as I got down the steps and met up with Gary by the paintings.
''Jason, I want you to introduce to you to Ulysses Bernard he wants to speak with you,'' Gary said, interrupting my walk before I went to Violet.
I couldn't let her be too angry at me; I thought it'd be easy to apologize for my actions and maybe thought she could forgive me.
The look on Gary's face brightened as he was waiting for an answer from me.
''Uh... yeah sure I'll love to meet him.''
''Great! Follow me.''
I followed Gary over to Ulysses and introduced myself to him.
I reached out and shook his hand, gripping it as tightly as he gripped mine.
''Jason, this is Mr.Bernard. Mr. Bernard, meet Jason Vella,'' Gary said.
"Hello, sir," Ulysses said with a smile.
"Nice to meet you,'' I replied with a grin.
We began to discuss my accomplishments and even suggest to work sometime in the future.
From afar, I watched Violet drink and interacting with a businessman from Sax London company. Anger raged through my body as I watched Violet talking to that guy.
"-- You have no idea," Violet said with a giggle.
A giggle.
A fucking soft little giggle.
The ease of their interaction churned my gut. Who the hell was this guy, and why was she bringing him around?
Violet was close to him, closer than she ever stood to me. With the way she looked at him, one could suggest that they were together in a relationship. Fucking one another.
Why was I dwelling on this so much?
They looked good together, and that made me angrier. There was something alluring about her, and now I didn't have the room to figure out what the fuck it was. I could feel the alcohol rushing through my system, clouding my judgment in the first place.
Maybe that was what all this was, all the whiskey and the champagne working its way through my body.
"--- Mr. Vella?" Ulysses intrigued my angry-fantasy with Violet and that guy.
"Yes?" I asked.
''I'll see you sometime? Maybe?''
''Yeah, maybe. I'll let you know.''
We handshake again as he left with Gary over to the stairs. I turned my back around and saw that Violet was coming out from the hallways in the restroom.
I looked over to the guy and saw he sprinkled a dash of white powder in the drink quickly then stir it with the straw rapidly before she went to him.
''Son of a bitch,'' I whispered.
I paced my way over to them as Violet took a big sip of the drink. ''Oh my gosh.''
''Violet, I've been thinking maybe you can over and we could hang out,'' the guy said.
She laughed. ''I wish but--''
''--Vi...Ms.Johnson, I need a word with you," I interrupted the conversation.
She looked at me and frowned. ''What am I doing?'' She snapped.
''Just listen to me for once,'' I clapped back.
"— You won't win," He said.
"Come again?" I turned my body to him.
"If you try to defy her or take control back, you won't win. She's dealt with bigger bastards than you. It's easier if you just do it her way," he said.
I heaved a sigh and my voiced became accosting. ''Who the fuck are you? Do you even know who I am?"
He chuckled and I clenched my fist taking a step closer to him.
''Fine, fine, I'll go with you, sheesh,'' Violet said. She turned to him and said ''I'll be back John, sorry.''
''Don't worry baby girl, I'll be waiting,'' he took her hand and kissed it sluggishly, leave a wet mark on the back of her hand.
''Bye,'' she whispered.

''I don't understand you, okay. I was wrong for putting up a show I guess. But, I was just communicating with him Mr.Vella,'' she said as soon as we step into the elevator.
''Just let her ramble until she passes out
Then you can take her to the hotel and take care of her...''
''You know what's the issue? Mr.Vella, you're too stubborn, that's the issue. I mean I was just doing my job and all of a sudden you care about who I talk to. Such a narcissist, stubborn, cold-heard bastard. You're probably a Saggitarius, or a Capricorn, probably a Leo since you love looking at yourself all the time.''
I cleared my throat and nodded my head.
DING
''So you're not say anything? I swear men these days... Can't even own up the shit you do.,'' she mumbled as we head outdoors. We stopped the end of the sidewalk as she turns her body to me.
She sighed and continued ''You know what? I think it's so funny how you're not firing me at this moment. You usually always have something slick to say.
After all, I'm talking so fast like there's an apocalypse outside. Why are you so quiet? Gosh, I just hate that you're so fucking... fine.''
I winded my eyes with a slight smirk.
Oh... so, she finds me attractive eh? Mmmm interesting.
''With your big chest, those juicy lips, and that face... ooo.. that face.'' She came closer to me and placed her hands on the side of my cheeks.
I stared at her brown pool eyes, dazzling from the lights above the ceiling of the venue. Her lips were wet and she smelled like the champagne she drank earlier.
I really wanted to kiss her right there and then. The way she looked at me... I wanted to shove my tongue down her throat and kiss the living shit out of her.
''-- If you weren't my boss, ha-ha, I would love for you to hit me from the back... hard as fuck.'' She snickered.
''But... you don't care about me so... pshh that shit ain't gonna happen.''
She giggled and stopped with a frown. Violet touched her head and started to rock back and forth uncontrollably, wobbling her legs to me.
''Are you okay?" I said, trying to help her balance.
''I... I...''
She passed out.
A sharp tug on my hand and I fell forward, closing the inches between us, her breasts pillowing against my chest hard.
Startled, I looked up to see her face staring closer until her mouth was slowly open. I placed my thumb and index finger together closing her mouth together then traced my fingertips all over her bottom lips.
''Everything's going to be okay. I got you, Violet,'' I whispered.
