Jacob's POV
I was a little bit confused, I wondered why my me among all people.
"Did the captor say anything and does the voice sound familiar?" I asked, hoping to get something that was traceable.
" No, the voice was so unfamiliar, I have never heard it before" he replied with a sad expression.
"No my daughter, I can't let anything happen to her, no.. she's my Only daughter" Josephine's mum cried in a panic-etched voice.
" I Know, nothing would happen to her, just calm down" he assured her, I nodded, she needs someone to be by her side right now because the dismissal of Josephine came like a bombshell to us and this is making me even more restless.
"Jared " I called out, he turned towards my direction while waiting for my command.
"We have to go now because many people are waiting for us and so we can start the search" I commanded while taking out my phone.
"But we have searched almost the entire City, but there seems to be no Trace of her, right now I'm frustrated," he said with a clear angry voice, I Drew in a deep breath while trying to calm down, this indeed is what I wanted but I'm confused, I don't know how it All happened and how my life ended up like this, I was more than frustrated about everything and it was making me even more tired than I already was.
"Is there anything you are not telling me?" I asked.
"I'm telling you everything sir " he replied, I narrowed my gaze at him, I felt like is something that he was hiding from me and I can't pinpoint what it was.
" Are you sure?" I asked again, he let out a sigh, then he nodded.
"Okay let's go and search for her, I don't want anything to happen to her," I said, I started walking to leave, then the blaring ringtone of my phone echoed, making me almost jolt In fear. Then I noticed a number which they put, a private number, I was hesitant to pick up the call.
"You need to pick up the call" Jared urged me, I Drew in a deep breath, and I was about to pick, it up before I signaled, Aaron so he can connect with my phone and be able to trace the number, he immediately did that.
Then I answered the call, but not until a familiar voice resonates through the cell phone, the familiar voice let out hysterical laughter, which made me clench my fist in a tight ball, I'm so frustrated with what had happened to me lately.
"Hahaha... you think you can ever find her and you think you can trace me, even my connecting this call to the system?" Another laughter erupted, the laughter was laughter if share evil, my stomach churned I was feeling even angrier, the way he laughed, like everything, was Okey And it managed to give me that goosebumps, I felt so frustrated Right now.
"You need to calm down" Jared advised when he noticed my clenched fist and said to me, I'm not going to calm down, I needed something, just anything in other to get a hold of the bastard.
I started rummaging my environment, using my eyes, trying to see if any was anyone of anything that had served as a hidden camera.
"Hahaha, you won't find the camera" he laughed again.
"Where are you with my wife bastard," I asked, another hysterical laughter erupted, I almost felt that this man has some real psychological imbalance.
" I Know you must be wondering where to get your wife right, so I'll just spare you the fuss, all you need to do is take the papers that are coming through the door and sign them," he said, his voice was so commanding and etched with anger, immediately I Heard the sound of the door, someone was knocking. immediately Jared rushed to open the door and he noticed a delivery man, he handed a Parcel to him and inform Jared to sign, which he did, before I could understand what was happening, Jared had already shoved the delivery man into the house. I furrowed my brows at his actions while wondering why he did that.
"Hahaha, your side dog, things he can investigate the delivery man, unfortunately, I was not the one that had delivered the Parcel, it's someone way to bigger and sinister that you might have taught" he replied from the phone.
"I want you to tell me, why are you doing this?" I asked, my brows creased with evident frustration, he drew in a deep breath, before Said.
" Open the Parcel and it'll tell you everything".
Hurriedly did as he said, then when I did, I was so shocked, it was a document, I hurriedly skimmed through the documents, only to find out it was a divorce paper.
"Now you see what I'm talking about right, I hate to see you Land your filthy Lips on my priceless jewel, so I'll advise you to sign those papers so we can let this matter side," he said, which made me draw in a deep breath, my heart was racing, I don't want anything to happen to her neither do I want to sign those papers.
" I said sign" he commanded.
"And what if I say no?".
"Then I'll have no choice but to do the needful, which is to pull a trigger deep through a skull". His reply should have sent a chill down my spine, but I felt nothing, more like his words, didn't matter to me.
" I Know you can do that" I scoff, knowing what he intended to do.
"Yes I can and I'm about to do it Right now," he said, which made me even more agitated.
"Why can't I, I can destroy her at any given moment, just say the word and things would be settled immediately," he said, his voice sounding raspy.
"I won't forgive you if you dare do anything to her " I yelled through the phone, I was already feeling so agitated at the slight thought it what was going on to happen to her.
"That's why I'm allowing you to try and see because very she's going to take her last," she said huskily.
"I hate you Aiden " I yelled before he ended the call.
