"mum you are here?" I asked evidently shocked, she came close to me, while she stared at Celine, her gaze was that of disgust.
"Morning mum, please meet my secretary, while Celine, please meet my mum" I introduce them to each other.
" Morning ma" she greeted respectfully before he extended her hand for a shake, but my mum didn't offer her hand to reciprocate her handshake.
"What's the problem mum?" I asked already agitated.
"Come here son, I'll like us to talk about something really important" she said, before we start walking back to the restaurant, where we sat down, I waited for her to speak, she was casual while looking at me.
" I don't want to see with your secretary, while would you be moving out with your secretary?" She asked evidently enraged, I took a deep breath while trying to calm down.
"You don't understand something here, this is something..." I trailed, immediately her expression changed.
"Don't think much about it son, you need to leave your life to the fullest, not too anyone desire" she said, before she cupped my cheeks while looking at me Intently, I took a deep breath, while trying to calm myself down, I don't know what else to do, the only thing I wanted at that moment was to be happy and genuinely happy at that.
" I know you want the best for me, but allow me to leave my life to my full expectations" I said, before I took a deep breath, while trying to calm myself down, I then went outside my house, only to noticed that she was still waiting for me outside, I tried as much to keep calm, especially when I noticed the way she was looking at me Intently, almost like she was hoping that nothing bad had been said about her.
I then went close to her before we both entered the car, I noticed the way she was fidgeting with her shirt and she curled her lips awkwardly.
"I just hope I have not caused any misunderstanding, between you and your mother" she said, I immediately shook my head, because I know for sure she hasn't done anything like that.
"Can we reschedule a day, where you would be able to tell me everything, but I'll like you to take you to my house, I just hope that won't be a problem" I said to her, with a mischievous smile etched on my face.
"Really!!" She exclaimed, " of course I'll really love that" she added.
When we reached home, I sat on the couch, before I ordered the chef to serve her lunch , which he did,I then heard the chef started mumbling some words I couldn't clearly comprehend.
After we were done eating,I noticed a morsel of the food was beside her lips, I then cleaned it with my thump, which made her curved her lips to a smile, while looking at me so intently in the eyes, I must admit she's a beauty.
I noticed Josephine was standing beside the front door while staring at us, she didn't utter a word, but it was evident that there was that glimmer of hurt In her face that I didn't fail to see, she took a deep breath, before she forced a smile on her face.
"Hey... Josephine, please meet Celine my secretary and Celine please meet Josephine my wife" I introduced the two and they glared at each other without even extending their hands for a shake. I then spoke in other to make the situation a little more less tense, I wonder what could possibly be the reason that I had resulted to that gaze . There was that glare that the landed at each , almost like they knew each other, I took a deep breath before I asked.
"Did you guys know each other " but before I could understand what was happening, I then noticed the way Josephine rushed out of the house, her eyes was filled with tears, I felt nothing but regret, because this time I might have went far, and I'm really regretting everything.
I started running while trying to pursue her, but unfortunately, I was stopped by my secretary.
"Sir... she's not worth it, she's...".
"Keep quiet young lady, remember your position, that you are still my secretary" I shouted at her, I noticed the shock expression in her gaze, it was evident enough that she also wanted to start crying, but I don't care. but I just hate to see those tears in the eyes of Josephine, for that reason, I ran like my life depended solely on it, I hate the fact that everything was happening to me this way.
"Josephine..." I called out to her, but she was bent on running , i chased her till I was close with her, she ran towards the garden.
I Instructed the gardener to tell my secretary that she can find her way home, before I took steady strides towards her, I then held her hand while trying to comfort her, I don't know what else to do, I tried as much to keep calm, but I couldn't.
"I want to know why are you are offended for me bringing her here?" I asked, while trying to keep a calm expression.
" I also want to know why you had to bridge the contract" she said abruptly, which made me baffled that I had to look at her in other to be able to calm my raging nerves.
"I didn't bridge any contract" I said gently, she then pursed her lips to a thin line, before she stared at me so Intently, which made try to keep a calm expression, I tried as much as possible to keep a calm, before I placed a soft kiss on her cheeks.
"Always remember that I love you and I'll continue to love you, I won't apologize for anything, because I know what I did was not wrong" I said, before I immediately stood up and left while I left her stranded there, she stared at me, while looking at so tired, I couldn't say a word.
I then went to my room , while trying to calm myself down, I don't know what I'll do to make her genuinely love me, there are many qualities that attracts me to her that i just wish she could understand my part, I tried as much as possible to keep calm, before I ruffled my hair, I continued starring blackly at the ceiling , before I heaved a sigh, I then noticed that there are things in this life, that I just can't stop myself from doing, I tried as much to keep calm, especially when I noticed that she was standing right at my door.
" What are you doing here?" I asked gently, she took a deep breath, before she walked up to me, she was looking at me with nothing but pain in her eyes, I tried as much to keep calm, but I couldn't, there was that inward Joy, that I couldn't ignore no matter what, I then went close to her before I engulfed her in a tight hug.
"I just want to say sorry, and I want to make up for the wrong I did..." I trailed, " by bringing her here, was to know your reactions, would it spark anything in you, for that reason, I promise not to bring her here again" I apologized, making her stared at me with a clearly shocked expression.
" You know I have always cared for you, but I never loved you, I love Aiden" she made her statement outright, I had to take deep breaths to calm myself down, because I know deep down, it Hurts, before I went closer to her, then I hugged her ones again, her Statement hurt me, but I know very soon she would fall for me, and I'll really make sure of that.
" I'm not asking you to care for me, the only thing I want from you, Is for you to give me your time and attention, and I'll be than content" I Said.
"Just my time?" She asked, I nodded, she then stared at me with a more Shock expression, before she started walking to the window, where she stared at the open space.
" Did you know, that after that incident, I thought you will give up on me, I thought you won't want to do anything with me, but why are you still doing this?" She asked gently.
I let out a throaty laugh before I said, " I also thought the same, it's evident enough that I just can't forget about you, no matter how hard I tried " I said gently, before I then heard a knock from the door, which might have well interrupted me.
" Who's that?" I asked.
"Sorry, it's me sir, your secretary, which is miss Celine, she's outside, and she said she needs to see you before she leave" my chef said, which made me took a deep breath, before i patted her then I left, I don't know why she was still here but I wanted to be sure.
When I reached her, I was welcomed with a tight slap on my cheeks.
