Twenty one

I left the stables when it was close to noon to continue practicing on my target that was when I saw Elison besides it.

“Go away.” I said in greeting to Elison who nodded.

“Good morning to you too. I see that you are sharing the same amazing deposition with your husband.”

“Then share in his not mine.” I growled at Elison who shook his head.

“Both of you are angry, what happened.” Elison said as I paused in strapping on the scabbard to look at him in shock.

“Orel is angry, what gave him the right to be.” I demanded.

“I don’t know, that is why I want you to tell me.” Elison said as I shook my head.

“I don’t know why he is angry.”

“Then why are you angry.” He asked.

“No reason that concerns you.” I said as the bitter taste came into my head again, I knew that it happened before we met but where did Orel sleep last night. Did they sleep together on the same bed that I slept last night? At that thought I growled angrily, I should have left the tent for him not the other way around.

“Themis…” Elison started to say but stopped when I turned my glare on him. He knows better than to make me angrier right now.

“There you are Lady Themis, are you ready to lose today.” Gwenn said in a loud voice as I smiled. The sight of my smile must have been enough to fear Elison because he quickly walked away from me.

“No, are you?” I asked in return.

“Gwenn, be careful.” He called out to Gwen who growled in anger at him. I could see that he really meant the warning, whatever he saw on my face was enough for him to be cautious.

“Are you okay?” Gwenn asked as she came closer to me.

“Peachy.” I said as me and Gwenn started circling each other, Elison was no longer within my eyesight but I knew he was still here, watching us.

“Defend yourself.” Gwenn called out as she came at me with full force, her blows didn’t drive me back, I used one of my swords to defend myself while the other to attack her, she was quick and fast, I will give her that but I was riding on rage. It wasn’t long before I disarmed her and she could not jump out of my sword quick enough as I strike her across her cheek. Blood swelled up from the wound.

Gwenn looked at me in shock. “You are angry at me, you are fighting in rage, which is good for some cases not all. Want to share the reason of your anger with me.”

“Why, just as you shared my husband with me.” I asked in rage, her eyes widened and I saw the guilt in her expression. That was all I needed to know that my thoughts was true. “Pick up your sword.”

“Themis, calm down.” Gwenn said as she licked her lips.

“I said pick up your sword.” I screamed out in rage as tears blur my eyes. Gwenn looked ashen. “You don’t understand…”

“I would not tell you again.” I said as Gwenn quickly picked up her sword and stood up. I tightened my grip on the swords as I thought about throwing one of them to Gwenn chest but I didn’t want to kill her. I quickly advanced to her as she shifted back while trying to make excuses.

“It was just one night, it never happened again. It was a long time ago.” Gwenn said as she blocked my attacks but I was not hearing, she could block my swords but she could not focus on my legs, when I was certain she was busy with my swords, I kicker her chest and she fell again, I could see the fear in her eyes as she scrambled back away from me.

“Pick it up.” I said as she shook her. “Pick up the bloody sword.” I screamed at her as tears fell from my eyes.

“No, please Lady Themis, listen to me.” Gwenn said as I raised the sword, if she didn’t want to defend herself, maybe I could give her a shallow wound that will show her that I was not kidding about wanting to fight her. As I brought down the sword, a hand appeared and held my hand from coming down.
