Thirty five
The wedding took place in less than a week after the negotiations and the mood was like that of a funeral, immediately after the wedding, we left and began our journey to the capital. Dyane started talking to me again and she was the only one, I no longer existed where Gwenn and Orel is, I know that Gwenn understand that it was her duty but she was still too upset to think about it clearly and Orel was angry with me.
We got to the capital yesterday after spending two weeks travelling and Orel helped me down my horse after helping Dyane and ignored me in his courtyard while he barked orders to his servants and warriors. I was taken to his room in his home and there I was awake waiting for him to arrive no matter how fatigued I was, he came in, ignored me and went to sleep, I cried myself to sleep that night and this morning when I woke up without him being around. I got dressed in my trousers hoping to train but knowing that I will have to issue the command myself since Gwenn will not be closed to me by choice, I left my room only for me to see nobody waiting for me, I tried to ease the panic in me that I have destroyed my relationship with my husband but instead it just increased until I saw Gwenn at the end of the hallway watching me.
“Gwenn.” I breathed out in relief as I hurried to her side.
“Why Themis.” She asked me in a low sad tone, she really hate her new position. It didn’t matter if she was supposed to be Queen of an empire, she wasn’t interested in being a queen.
I looked at her and saw the raw emotion on her face, I will not insult her by lying to her. “You are the only one that can save that empire from crumbling, you are needed there.”
“I am also needed here, by Orel side.” Gwenn lashed out as tears dropped from her eyes. “Orel needs me and Elison by his side.”
“He got me, Gwenn.” I silently tell her as she glare at me though her tearstained face.
“Is that it? Is that the reason why you allowed that to happen?” When I opened my mouth to talks she hushed me. “You cannot tell me that it wasn’t in your power to prevent that.”
“Yes I could prevent that and an empire will died out. I could have changed the future but it would have been for the worse not better.” I blurted out.
“So there was no other way.” Gwenn face crumbled again.
“I would never do something like this to another person on purpose. This was the only way which I could do anything.” I voiced out as she nodded at me.
“You swear on the life on your future children that you didn’t do this to remove me from Orel side because you are jealous.” Gwenn asked.
I snorted at that. “I am more concerned about Estrid than you and besides. The prince…”
“His name is Sorens.” Gwenn informs me.
“Prince Arius is just like Orel but unlike my husband, he have a woman who will give up everything for him. Orel has two.”
It was Gwenn turn to snort at my statement. “Please you think that with that I will chose to give up everything for him.”
I smirked as I thought he will be your everything “We shall see.”
“You need to tell Orel all what you just told me.” Gwenn said as I rolled my eyes.
“For me to tell him, he has to listen to hear it, he doesn’t even look at me anymore.” I mumbled trying to hide the hurt I was experiencing.
I wasn’t successful because Gwenn knew and not to make me feel bad, she squeezed my hands in a show of support but didn’t say anything more the issue.
“I see you are dressed for combat. That is good. Let’s go, I need to work of some aggressive energy today.”
I gulped loudly at that as her laugh bounced off the walls, she was going to kill me. I just knew it.
