Chapter 35

'Master!! Master!!" Czar runs to the throne room only to collapse on his knees, 'Arcadia has been crowned Queen, she killed all our men!! I don't know what to do or say anymore, she is a demon!" He feigns fear and this angers his master, his head is bowed to the floor,
'I thought you said she would be my captive by tonight!!" He growls, 'how did this happen Czar?!! How!!?!" His unearthly yell makes the palace walls shake and Czar's head is still bowed to the ground.
'Forgive me Master, it was not how I expected it to turn out. She was supposed to be injured and dragged away from her palace after she would be prevented from becoming queen, but everything turned south." He raises his head finally, 'it turns out that the late king actually willed his kingdom to Xerxes and not Magnus, Xerxes claimed the kingdom after discovering the truth and crowned his daughter Queen."
Mace was seething with rage, 'so she's finally Queen of the North…." He would do anything to bring her to his feet, anything, but that was when Sativa's words began to ring in his ears,
'If you want to defeat the princess then you must do it from the inside, she must begin to like you."
He couldn't get them out of his head no matter how he tried, he couldn't even imagine himself pretending to be on her side. She would never believe it and he would never do it. Period. The thought of addressing her as Queen and paying respects made him sick to his stomach. He really despised her now.
'Our men were stationed but her Beta saved her from death, but even she didn't let him die. She did something that brought Him back to life." That was the part that really scared Mace,
'What?! That's impossible!! No one has been able to bring the dead back to life!! Not even witches!! What power does she have?!" This was his worst nightmare; to be weaker than a woman.
'It's not magic, it's Reiki."
Loki walks in with a stoic expression on his face, he seemed to be empty on the inside but his appearance was still strong and domineering. He takes a bow before continuing,
'Queen Octavia was the guardian of the rose tree, she had the ability to perform Reiki and her daughter awakened that ability when she reached age, she has used it and now her power would begin to grow intensively." He explains to them and this little fact about the Queen only seems to excite Czar the more, 'Reiki is the ability to heal physically and emotionally using energy, only sages from the rose clan are able to do so but it seems Octavia and Arcadia were exceptions."
'What can we do to get that power?" Czar's question sparks thoughts, and Mace expects an answer from Loki, he isn't sure whether to say because Czar asking for it in the first place is rather ambitious,
'Speak Loki!" It was an order from his Alpha,
'Well….." He takes his time, recollecting all the stories his mother told him, 'Octavia was the guardian of the rose tree, it was rumoured that the roese tree never wilted away but it was taken instead." He clears his throat,
'The rose tree is over hundreds of feet tall, how can it be taken away from it's intitial position? Are you sure of what you're saying Loki?" Czar was beginning to doubt his fellow Beta,
'Anything is possible through magic," he shows his Essence before dispersing it, 'king Magnus married her for the power in the first place, but he was never able to attain it because it was inside of her; she took the tree with her. And she gave it to her daughter before she passed away. She gave Arcadia power to destroy us all." He puts it in simple English and this breaks Mace completely.
'We would not lose to a woman, what can we do to acquire it for ourselves?" He wanted it to himself, he would be called the supreme Alpha of the land if he was able to acquire the rose tree that was inside Arcadia.
'It is only if she gives it to you, but you know very well that she would never. Or if you can steal it from her then you are on the right track." He says without a care in the world, 'but getting it out of her is the issue, she would have to bring it out herself."
'Then we would force her to give it to us!! We would snatch everyone she loves until she is forced to hand us the rose tree, then our master would be the most powerful there is." Czar makes another one of his bizzare plans and this makes Loki roll his eyes to the moon and back.
'The Queen is not so weak that she would break after a few attempts, from what the sage said if you attack her then she would give you your actions with double damage, we need to be tactful if we want to obtain such power from her." His word put the Alpha on the throne in deep thought,
'We would discuss that later….I believe you came here for something else?" He points out to the fact that he just waltzed in like Cinderella,
'Ah yes, that woman we found is conscious now but it seems she remembers nothing about herself. It must be the effects of the curse." He pursed his lips for a while before straightening his features once again, 'should I bring her in for you to interrogate her?"
'What is the use? Just get rid of her, she's not our problem and I don't want to be having a mental person roaming around in the palace." The man with the scar scoffs, 'I hear she only knows one word in that big brain of hers….what's the name?? Rune? Is that it?" He pokes trouble at Loki and it pesters him to no end, but he had to keep his cool,
'And is that true Loki? Is she really a mad woman?" Mace cocks his brow at his half brother and this dumbfounds him,
'Master is it not her fault!! She is only what she is because she has been cursed! She needs help and it wouldn't be right if we leave her to die outside. Anyone can do anything to her!!" He defends her with everything he had, he was beginning to lose control of himself as he had started shouting, but Mace could understand, he didn't have the best time growing up since his mother was a witch.
She was consumed with power and he aged and this made her mental, then she was killed as she was labeled a curse to society. It was only normal for him to see a mother in this woman. It was natural for him to want to protect her.
'Loki she is mad. She cannot stay here!!" Czar puts his foot down on the matter,
'Watch your tongue or I would cut it out and stick it up your ass." Dead silence, he had never threatened anyone to that extent in a long while, 'she is not mad, I would make sure she goes back to her normal self, I'm not as selfish as you are." He spits at his comrade before turning to his brother, his eyes were full with so much passion, 'may I bring her in?" He hoped for a positive.
Mace thinks for a while before giving the go ahead, 'but make it quick."
