Chapter 7

'I found them in Magnus' wardrobe, he knows we have an affair." She smiles a bit and this further confuses him, 'they were with me until yesterday, so he must've found them and his nose-y attitude got the best of him." She laughs a little.
'Octavia are you serious right now? Is this a prank?? The king knows about us and you're laughing like nothing is wrong! You do know he can decide to kill us if he wishes to." He hurriedly arranged the letters until he sees one, a very familiar one, 'does he know about Arcadia too?" His eyes widen in fear.
The Queen of the kingdom nods like a happy child, she was enjoying the way the situation took a turn for the worse.
'You can't tell me you're not the slightest bit worried love?" His eyes are wide in fear, he must've fallen in love with a mad woman. She bends to move close to his ear,
'In fact at the moment we are being watched," her eyes sneak to a tree and he sees one of the palace guards spying on them, 'but relax darling, he is under my control now." She is about to kiss him but he moves back a bit and it hurts her,
'How?" It takes him some time to understand, 'was it when you…." He trails off, she sang in the form of laughter, of course, she used her powers on the poor guard now he would eventually lose his memory, 'you're a devil Octavia." He sighs in relief and she laughs once more.
'If the king wants to play games he should've known that I'm the master of games." She gathers the letters and binds them in the red rope, 'I would put these back to where they were so he would think I'm clueless." She puts them underneath her dress once more.
'But what if he decided to attack any one of us? I can't lose you Octavia." He holds her firmly,
'Xerxes, he is powerless in this situation, I know something you don't….and I have something he needs…." She speaks in riddles once more,
'What are you hiding from me Octavia?"
'You would understand everything very soon, but Magnus would pay for all of his wrong doings." She rises to her feet, 'expect me in your room by midnight, we would talk properly there. But I think I would be the one doing the talking." Her fingers trail to his lips,
'Could you at least be straight with me?" He swats her hand away from his face, he didn't want to be seduced, she rolls her eyes,
'Magnus has been lying to all of us, he is going to marry our daughter off when she turns 18, I wouldn't let her go through the same thing I had to suffer." Her fist clenches uncontrollably, she turns to her mate, 'sharpen your sword my love, there would be bloodshed in a few days and I want his head on a golden plate." She makes her demand known and he nods in approval.
If she wanted his head then he would get her his head. A husband should always fulfill the desires of his wife.
She leaves him in the garden and the guard runs to tell the king, but unknown to him, he would lose his memory the moment he stepped into the palace. Octavia was not someone to be taken lightly, she had immense power and that was why Magnus married her in the first place.
The day comes to play and Arcadia is up and about, doing her regular business which is actually doing nothing and letting the maids feed her till she becomes fat.
A knock his heard on her door and the maid opens it for her, 'your majesty." She bows out of courtsey and moves out of the way, revealing Magnus in a grand attire,
'Arcadia…" He smiles at his daughter and her eyes light up,
'You actually came to see me father!!!" She's more than delighted, 'I thought you would be too busy to see me, are you here to give me my present?" She squeals, almost deafening everyone as she activated her powers accidentally,
'Well yes." He clenches his ears in protection, 'in fact it's a very precious gift from me." He moves closer to her and sits on her bed, 'it's not a something but a someone," her face begins to twist in confusion,
'A someone?" She isn't quite sure about what he is saying,
'There's someone I would like you to meet." He smoothens her hair in affection,
'Father I'm really not interested in this," she throws the idea down, 'I do not want to marry just anyone, I would marry who I want to marry." Arcadia puts her foot down on the matter,
'But I promise be is a good man, he would take care of you." He tries to convince her, he turns to the maids, 'privacy." He orders and they file out one by one, 'you have to consider him."
'Father, if I don't know him well enough then I refuse to marry him, I would never want to get a stranger as my mate." The tears begin to choke her, 'we must court before anything marriage, that's the only thing I want to ask of you."
'But Arcadia, don't you trust my decision? He's the perfect man and—"
'Arcadia?" They both turn to see who interrupted them, 'apologies your majesty," Xerxes takes a quick bow, 'it is time for her training, and I know she is already devising methods not to train today." He caught her there and she groans loudly, she picks her fans that was on top of the drawer beside her,
'Father we would have this discussion later, I would come to you personally." She pecks him before running off to the training grounds, Xerxes sets out to leave,
'I would also love to talk to you Xerxes, I believe we have a few things to straighten out." Magnus eyes him but Xerxes is emotionally numb to his stare,
'I believe so too, uncle." It has been too long since he said that word, and it would be the last time he would ever address him as that, he takes his leave.
