Chapter 68

Everything froze in that moment, her words came as a big shock to the Queen but she was delighted by the news,
'Pregnant?!" She squeals and rushes to hug her half sister, 'are you joking with me? You're not helping Asher play a prank on me now are you?" The look of excitement on her face made Sheila happy untold eh remembered she had to tell her the father, but she shakes her head, 'goddess!! Many thanks!! You have given my sister a child!!" She embraces her with everything that made up her strength.
'I was feeling sick previously so I decided to check what was wrong with me after the queen told me too. She suspected a pregnancy although I denied it, and it turns out that I am pregnant." She moves to the bench and sits on it, 'I'm sorry I couldn't tell you earlier, I have become a liability now haven't I?" Her gaze moved to her feet.
'No!!! Not at all!!" She holds her chin firmly to guide her eyes to meet hers, 'you're not and will never be useless to me, we both run this Kingdom together, I'm just happy you're going to be a mother soon." She becomes emotional as she placed her hand on her stomach, 'tell me, who is the lucky man?"
And that was the question she feared so much. She found herself unable to say his name, even the thought of him made her cry and Arcadia could see it as clear as day,
'Sheila? Did he abandon you?" Her guess only made her choke on her tears, 'tell me his name and I would bring him at your feet!" She was ready to start another war because of her sister,
'Arcadia….you do not understand…." She was scared that she would hate her but the Queen had told her to tell her the truth, 'he didn't run away but he tried to kill me in order to protect his master…..he hurt me so much by doing such." She begins to sob.
'Tell me who he is and I wouldn't spare him!" She was enraged by how the man had rested her sister, but Sheila could see that she still couldn't understand so she decided to be straight,
'It's Beta Loki."
His name shocked the spirit out of her and it took her some time to come back to her senses, she felt even more guilty after seeing the look on Arcadia's face,
'But…..how?" She looked at her for an answer,
'We started seeing each other wa before I met you, we were madly in love but he hadn't touched me as I requested him to. I wrote requesting to meet him and he came, he saw that I was different." She has multiple flashbacks of that day, 'ever since you helped me and I pledged my loyalty to you there has been fights between us."
Arcadia doesn't say anything, giving her more room to continue,
'I begged him to stay with me as I had become a being with him, he agreed after I helped him explode traitors of alpha Mace….that was the reason you didn't see me for some days….." She comes clean on that aspect, 'he made up and we decided to spend some time together but……we ended up spending the night together instead…." She looks at her hands, she was playing with her fingers nervously as Arcadia kept mute to listen to all he had to say, 'and this is where I found myself; pregnant and heartbroken."
The wind whistles but Arcadia still wasn't sure of what to say, she was still accessing the situation,
'Forgive me my queen, I didn't want to betray you but I was in love with him!!" She goes on her knees to plead for forgiveness but she receives an unexpected gesture, she is being lifted from the shoulders by Arcadia.
'I honestly do not see this as your fault, it was just circumstance that we met and you pledged loyalty to me. If I had known you had Beta Loki as your lover then I would have never kept you. I am not angry t you Sheila but I am hurt it took you this long to tell me." She holds her hands in hers, 'I noticed there was something wrong with you, but I wanted to hear it myself and not ask you. I accept you and your child, does the father know anything about this blessing?" She touches the growing baby with a smile on her lips.
'He doesn't know anything yet, and I pray he never comes to know." The bitterness was still there.
'You cannot hide this away from him, he deserves to know as he had rights over the child too. I understand that you're angry with him and you can hurt him however you wish to but do not keep the news of the baby away from him. It would be considered a sin in the goddess's eyes.."
'He almost killed me and his child!! What about that?! Isn't that a sin too?!!" She is rampaging again but he quickly breaks down, 'never in my entire life would I have imagined he would have the guts to do that to me. He promised to protect me, but he would have killed me."
'He was only doing his duty as a Beta, take Asher for an example," she rubs her nose as she got ready to make him look like the idiot he was, 'he decided to give Conan the seal, practically turning himself to a traitor just to get me to declare war on Mace. If he didn't do this then we would have never found ourselves in possession of the entire land. We would never be he strongest clan there is, if not for his stupid idea."
'It was still wrong of him to do so and I think he should be whipped for it." Her eyes roll to the moon and back and Arcadia found it rather funny,
'He should but his actions gave us a great result so he wouldn't. In essence he was only doing his job as a Beta, not caring if he would lose his brother or even be killed for it. It was the same thing Loki did, he must have been so enraged when he found out that mother was playing him like a pack of cards, the only thing he had on his mind was to protect his alpha. And he did his best to." She explains before picking a rose, 'you would have done the same thing too Sheila." She smiles a bit at the flower.
Sheila Is silent as she played with the words in her head, Arcadia did have a point, if she were in Loki's shoes then she wouldn't hesitate to spill blood. Even if it was his. This fact made her less angry and her being came down from the cliffs of hatred.
'You can still decide to maltreat him if it makes you heal faster but I know that even with that you still love him a lot. It's the reason why you decided to slap him instead of behead him." She chides,
'How did you know that?" She is flushed,
'I could hear it from my room, poor boy should be sore, he wouldn't be able to eat for three days." She laughs heartily,
'I believe the Queen did this to help us sort out our differences but she has caused quite a problem for you, paring you Mace and all." She stated facts and this even made Arcadia angry again,
'I do not take this decision to be a good thing but she is my mother and I will respect her, I have a feeling she did this so Loki would live. He wouldn't see any need to stay alive if Mace died. And Czar would gladly follow afterwards. I guess this way is better since we get to use them however we like, that way they die a thousand deaths in a day." She smirked sadistically at the thought of reducing Mace to dust,
'What will you make him do?" Sheila liked the thought of having human puppets, Arcadia smirks sinisterly as she thought of the ways to torture Mace, especially for looking at her while she undressed.
'Sheila my darling, sit back and enjoy the show."
