Chapter 13: I'm Getting Married
Elio did not immediately go to find Tiffany but instead went to find Katie.
Katie wasn't surprised that Elio came to see her, but when she saw his disheveled appearance, a hint of understanding appeared in her eyes.
"You know, don't you?" Katie asked cautiously.
Elio silently looked at her, and after what seemed like an eternity, he finally asked her, "How did you recover your memory?"
If he was not mistaken, Katie had also been hypnotized.
Since Katie could remember, why couldn't he remember anything?
"Elio, I hate you."
Suddenly, Julia's vacant eyes appeared in his mind, and he remembered her repeatedly saying that she hated him, which caused his heart to ache so much that even his fingertips trembled.
"Brother," Katie looked at Elio, "you might not have realized it, even if you have forgotten everything, or even if someone tampered with your memories, deep down in your subconscious, you still can't bring yourself to harm Julia. If it wasn't for Tiffany, are you sure you wouldn't fall in love with Julia again?"
Elio didn't answer her. Instead, he asked, "How is she doing now?"
Katie shook her head. "She has been in a coma for the past few days. The doctor said her will to live is very low."
Elio's head jerked up, panic evident in his eyes.
Katie chuckled. "Don't worry, she is not in immediate danger. She just needs proper care. However, her foundation has been severely damaged. The doctor said she will never be able to have children in the future."
The air seemed to freeze in an instant.
Katie looked up at the sky outside the window and said, "Brother, do you think the sins I have committed will never be cleared in this lifetime?"
"No, the one who should atone for his crime is me." He lowered his head.
Everything was his doing, and it had nothing to do with Katie.
Katie never stole anything from him because she understood what was right and wrong in her heart.
She knew very well that Tiffany was the main culprit in all of this, but she was still an accomplice.
"Katie, I'm going to marry Tiffany."
With those words, Katie suddenly looked up. The hurt in her eyes disappeared, replaced by a look of madness.
"What did you say? Are you crazy?"
Elio pursed his lips. "I know Tiffany may have done some bad things, but she is still the woman I love. I can't discredit my own lover because of other people's words."
"Elio!" Katie exclaimed angrily. "Are you serious? Do you realize what you are doing right now?"
"Katie, you are my only family. I know you will give me your blessings, right?"
Katie burst into laughter, pointing in the direction of the door. "Get out! Elio, just get out of here!"
Elio frowned. "You need to understand that Tiffany isn't as bad as those people say. You also know that Julia is a cunning person. She always plans everything carefully. All of this is part of her scheme, and you are deceived..."
Katie was disappointed.
