Chapter 36: My Pain

Upon seeing Elio appear at the door, Tiffany screamed and retreated.
But Elio's gaze was too cold, and the bodyguard behind him didn't hesitate. They approached and dragged Tiffany away.
Tiffany continued to struggle, "Elio, Elio, look clearly, Julia is a promiscuous and shameless woman, she is—!" She couldn't say the rest of her words because her mouth was completely blocked.
Upon seeing Elio, Nathan's eyes were filled with venom.
If it wasn't for Julia in his arms, he might have already made a move against the man before him.
Just the day before, he had finally learned about everything Julia went through four years ago.
'No wonder, no wonder she had never dared to accept him. Elio's role in all of this was truly significant!'
And just now, what did he hear? It was all instructions from Elio too?
Nathan completely ignored Elio, who had appeared in the hospital room. He continued to softly coax Julia, who seemed to be lost in some memory.
"Let's go home, don't be afraid, I'm here, I'm here."
"It wasn't me, it wasn't me." Julia suddenly choked up, tightly gripping Nathan's arm and looking up at him with a tear-stained face. "Why don't you believe me? Why don't you believe me?"
"I know, I know it wasn't you, be good, calm down." Nathan's eyes grew even darker.
Julia didn't have the chance to finish speaking before he interrupted her, placing a finger on her lips.
When Nathan saw Julia in such agony, he felt a surge of pain in his heart, but he was helpless. "Where does it hurt? Tell me, where does it hurt?" he asked desperately.
"It hurts so much, I'm in so much pain," Julia couldn't even hear what Nathan was saying. It was as if she had fallen into her own nightmare.
"Elio! Elio, why don't you believe me! Why do you treat me like this!"
Hearing this, Nathan froze in an instant.
Elio, who was standing beside them, too afraid to approach, became teary-eyed at her words. Why didn't he believe her?
How could he trust Tiffany's lies instead?
How could he be so easily hypnotized and have his memories replaced?
Deep down, his heart had always been telling him who he truly loved, but why did he choose to ignore it?
"Elio, Elio, it hurts, I'm in so much pain," Julia reached out her hand to him, without a single word.
But Nathan ignored him and tried to pick Julia up to take her away. However, Elio didn't give him the chance.
"She needs me now."
"She needed you before, too! But where were you then?!" Nathan's eyes were filled with a chilling coldness. "I will settle the score with you at some point! Now, step aside!"
Elio didn't step aside, he simply said softly, "Julia, be good and come home with me."
With just those simple words, Julia, who had been crying uncontrollably as if trapped in a nightmare, suddenly stopped.
She saw Elio standing stiffly on the side and reached out to him, crying, "Elio, why did you come so late? Why?"
In that instant, Nathan felt defeated. Not by Elio, but by Julia.
