Chapter 5: Divorce
Katie wanted to continue, but when she saw Elio speak, she didn't dare to do anything further. She only managed to grab Julia for a brief moment.
In just a moment, Julia's back was covered in scratches.
"Are you still pretending?" Elio asked Julia in a cold voice.
The pain in Julia's scalp had rendered her numb all over. She raised her bruised arm and pointed at Tiffany nonchalantly, deflecting his question. "You love her, don't you?"
Elio instantly positioned himself protectively in front of Tiffany due to Julia's action. He stared at Julia with a heavily warning gaze and said, "You think you can use tactics on Tiffany too? Julia, let me tell you, if you dare to touch anyone around me again, I will make sure you suffer a fate worse than death!"
So, that was the answer; that was how much Elio loved Tiffany...
The answer that Julia had already known for a long time ravaged her both physically and mentally when she heard it with her own ears.
Julia trembled in pain, biting her lip. She slowly said, "I haven't done anything. No matter what you say, I won't admit to anything I haven't done."
She glanced at Tiffany, who was smiling provocatively behind Elio, and said, "Who really did those things, who knows in their heart."
Crack! A slap landed mercilessly on Julia's face!
Elio's slap was heavy, and in an instant, Julia's mouth was filled with blood.
"If you dare to defame Tiffany like this again, the next time won't be as simple as a slap!" Elio's eyes flashed with a hint of cruelty, and his tone became icy cold.
Tiffany smirked in her heart. Julia only had this little trick up her sleeve.
She quickly ran forward, embraced Elio, and said tenderly, "Elio, let's not be angry. Julia, Julia did this because she was angry. It's because she had no one else to vent her anger on."
"Don't blame her, she is already like this now. Can we not wait until she is better to discuss matters?" Elio's tone carried reproach as he looked tenderly at Tiffany in his arms.
Julia watched their intimate gestures and couldn't help but recall how Elio used to be so devoted to her, seemingly deeply in love. However, she never imagined that the person she once loved would turn into her worst nightmare. Elio.
She began to ponder whether he had ever truly loved her in the past.
If he didn't love her, why did he give her the illusion of the most beautiful love in the world?
In the end, it was all fake. All of it!
Her hand under the blanket clenched into a fist. Julia stared at the couple embracing each other, mustering all her strength, and said with deliberate emphasis, "Elio, let's get a divorce."
