Chapter 18 Not Settled

Elio was hospitalized.
Katie didn't dare to tell him anything about Julia.
She knew that Elio already remembered everything; he just hid it.
If he really didn't remember anything and had no impression of Julia, how could he end up in the hospital?
Julia had died.
Her body had been identified.
Due to being soaked in salt water for a long time, the body had decomposed greatly. If it weren't for the clothes and the bracelet she always wore, she might not have been able to confirm that it was her beloved Julia from childhood to adulthood.
"What do you want to say?" Elio leaned against the headboard. Despite wearing hospital clothes, there was no sign of illness on him. Instead, he seemed even more fierce, making it difficult for people to look directly at him.
Katie hesitated, but in the end, she said, "Tomorrow will be Julia's funeral."
She carefully observed Elio's expression, but there was nothing.
Elio furrowed his brows, focusing his gaze on her. "Is she your friend? If she's an important friend, then I'll attend..."
"What?" she asked as if she didn't hear clearly, staring at him in surprise.
"What? Do you want me to go with you?" he asked.
"It's Julia, it's Julia's funeral!" Katie became a little excited. "Brother, no matter what you thought back then—"
"Why I should know this person named Julia?" Elio's brows furrowed even more. "Katie, you know how busy I am. I have so much work piled up during this period."
Katie didn't even know if Elio was sane. In panic, she rushed to the attending doctor's office.
When she learned from the doctor that Elio might have selectively forgotten everything about Julia, Katie sat down on the cold floor, crying loudly!
"Why are you crying?" Elio stood in front of Katie, watching her cry with sadness.
Katie bit her lip tightly, shaking her head repeatedly, unable to say a word.
"Stop crying, be good." Elio crouched down, "Shall I go with you?" he asked. It had been a long time since he had seen his little princess cry like this.
Katie opened her mouth, but in the end, she could only nod. She couldn't let her brother be absent from Julia's funeral.
On the day of the funeral, Katie looked at the photo of Julia on the altar and recalled the moments they had spent together. Her eyes were filled with tears, and she couldn't help but think, "Julia, if you were still alive, you could have been my sister-in-law."
The black and white photo depicted a woman smiling radiantly. Unable to resist, she asked Elio, "Brother, do you really have no impression of Julia? Do you truly not remember anything about her?"
Elio's gaze lingered on the photo for a while, his eyes filled with a hint of pain that quickly disappeared, concealing it from Katie completely.
He shook his head. "Why even ask? Should I remember her?"
Disappointed, Katie shook her head. "No."
Julia's funeral was organized by Katie herself. Over the past two years, the Murphy family had completely severed ties with Julia due to the intentional suppression from the Parker family.
Who else would have held a funeral for her?
Ultimately, the Parker family owed her; it was a debt that would never be repaid in this lifetime.
Julia had been cremated. When Katie went to retrieve the urn, there were some issues. The staff took a long time to bring it out, and in response to Katie's questioning, they explained that the procedures were complicated, hence the delay.
While doubts lingered in Katie's mind, she didn't inquire further.
Therefore, she had no idea that Elio, who had supposedly left temporarily due to company matters, was at that moment holding a black-clothed rectangular urn, speeding down the road.
