Chapter 43 LATER

<Chapter>Chapter 43 LATER </Chapter>
When Elio was pushed into the operating room, Julia stood pale-faced at the entrance, and Nathan stood silently next to her.
"Don't worry, they'll just remove the bullet from his arm. It won't be a big problem," Nathan said.
Julia nodded silently; her gaze somewhat vacant.
Tiffany was dead.
She was shot and killed instantly when she raised her gun to shoot Elio, and a sniper hidden not far away took her life with a single shot.
She knew Elio would be fine, but when the gunshot rang out, her heart seemed to stop suddenly.
It was only in that moment that she realized how important Elio was to her, more than she had imagined.
Julia sat on a chair in the corridor, her gaze fixed on the ground, her voice slightly hoarse.
"Mmm."
"After Elio's surgery, let's go back to country A, okay?"
Nathan, who had been silent, suddenly turned around, his azure eyes locked onto Julia.
"Do you," she took a deep breath, "do you know what you're saying? Do you know what you'll face if you go back to country A with me? I'm not worthy of you doing that for me."
"Julia, you must be with me. If you choose him, you will be with him for the rest of your life—and you'll only be by his side!
You'll be bound to him for your entire life!
No matter if you, Julia, regret it or not, I will never let you go again!
Have you thought it through?"
Nathan begged; his eyes were full of tears.
"I know," Julia looked up at him, "but I need some time."
She pointed to her heart, "This part, there's still him, even more than I expected. Can you give me some time?"
Julia knew she was being unfair, but she couldn't be with Elio. She couldn't forget everything.
Whether or not they could be together for the rest of their lives had nothing to do with how deep their love was.
She couldn't accompany Elio any further, nor could she face everything he had done to her.
Nathan knelt beside her, his body slightly rigid as he pulled her into his embrace. "It's alright, I told you, I have plenty of time. I can wait, I can wait."
No one knew that he had waited for these words for a full ten years!
He regretted not meeting her earlier back then. If he had, the only one by her side would have been him.
Even now, he still remembered the time ten years ago when he was in dire straits, and it was her who reached out to him and gave him all the cash she had.
She said, "No matter what difficulties you encounter, please don't lose hope in this world, because there will still be people who love you and whom you love."
That was the most difficult time for him, but it was her who saved him.
But Julia had long forgotten about him.
When Elio woke up after the surgery, Katie was the only one by his bedside.
Seeing Elio wake up, a glimmer of joy flashed in Katie's eyes, but soon, she remembered the words Julia had left behind and didn't know what to do.
Elio scanned the ward, but he didn't see the person he wanted to see. The award was quiet. Just as Katie was about to tell Elio everything, his hoarse voice echoed in the room, "She left, didn't she?"
Katie was taken aback. Elio's eyes slightly reddened, "I knew one day she would leave me, but I didn't expect her to leave so decisively. She refused to forgive me."
"Brother, have you ever forgiven yourself?" Katie asked with a teary voice.
How could Elio forgive himself? Julia left without leaving a word, and she changed all the ways they used to communicate. He couldn't find her.
One year later.
Elio received some news and immediately arranged for someone to buy plane tickets and go to the school to pick up Eddie, who was still attending classes. He drove to the airport.
"Dad, where are we going?" Eddie asked.
"We're going to pick up Mom."
They were going to pick up the woman he had finally found.
