Chapter 21: She is a Ruthless Person

After putting Eddie to sleep, Katie went straight to Elio's study.
"In the next few days, you need to take care of him. I have to leave for a few days," Elio arranged for Katie as usual.
Katie knew he was departing again.
For the past four years, every time before his mysterious departure, he would give her this instruction.
"Brother," Katie took a deep breath. "How long do you intend to continue like this?"
She finally asked!
This was the question she had wanted to ask for the past four years, but she didn't dare.
But today, she couldn't hold back anymore.
Elio put down his pen and looked up at Katie. "What do you want to ask?"
"You know what I want to ask," Katie pursed her lips. "I just want you to know. Julia won't come back! No matter how you torture yourself, Julia has long gone..."
"Shut up!" Elio's face turned ashen, and his once gentle eyes suddenly turned fierce!
For the past four years, Elio's temper had become increasingly strange. Originally known as a ruthless man in the business world, he was now referred to as the unpredictable smiling tiger.
His methods were ruthless and made people in the business world fear him.
Even Katie sometimes felt afraid of her own brother.
"I don't!" Katie clenched her fists. "You need to face the reality. Julia is dead! Even if you pretend to forget about her, she won't come back! You know that! Even if she were still alive, she wouldn't want to see us again. She hates us, she hates us!"
"Hate?" Elio sneered. "If she truly hated me, why didn't she come find me? If she truly hated me, why didn't she come to take my life? No, she doesn't hate me at all, she doesn't even care about me!"
Elio's words scared Katie.
"Brother?"
The long silence seemed to help Elio regain his composure.
"Don't bring this up in front of me again," he said coldly. "Just like what you said, she is already dead and won't come back."
"I won't bring it up? Do you think I want to? Every year during this time, where do you go? Tell me, which time have you come back not extremely weak? Look at what your body has become in these years. Do you think..."
"It has been four years since she left." his voice suddenly grew heavy, "Do you know that in these four years, even if you walk slowly, you can still go far? I'm afraid she can't wait; what if she no longer waits for me?"
He so badly wanted to just go with her.
But he couldn't.
Because they have a child, and he cannot neglect that child.
Katie gasped in disbelief as she stared at Elio!
"You—you can't, you can't think like this! The Parker Group cannot be without you, Eddie cannot be without you! You know very well how much Eddie needs you!"
"That's why I'm still here."
So, if it wasn't for Eddie, would he have followed Julia to her burial on that day?
Katie dared not think any further, she didn't even dare to ask any more questions.
"I will take good care of you, Eddie, but I'm telling you now, if anything happens to you, I won't take care of that child anymore! Let him fend for himself!"
