CHAPTER 24 "FIRST BOYFRIEND"
Because they were both wet, Jenny decided to let Jason stay in their house. She lent him a replacement t-shirt and then took this school polo and white shirt to wash.
"I'll give these to you tomorrow, at school, I'll wash and dry them first," she said to the young man when she put the coffee he had mixed for him on the center table.
A beautiful smile tore from Jason's lips before he thanked her for the coffee. "Where is Aunt Weng?" he asked her afterward.
"She's asleep already. You know she needs to wake up early because of our bakery," she replied. "Next time I'll introduce you to her as my boyfriend, is that okay with you?"
Jason nodded then reached out for her hand and kissed it. "It's okay, do it when you're ready," he replied in an understanding tone.
Jenny smiled at her boyfriend's answer. She was really kind and yet understanding, and even too early she knew she hadn’t made a mistake with the man she had chosen to love for the first time.
Jason nodded then reached out for her hand and kissed it. "It's okay, do it when you're ready," he replied in an understanding tone.
Jenny smiled at her boyfriend's answer. He has always been really kind and very understanding, and even if it might be too early for others she knew she hadn’t made a mistake with the man she had chosen to love for the first time.
"I'm sorry if I've been behaving like a child these past few days ah? But you know what? Why do I have this feeling that you know I'm jealous but you're still doing it to annoy me?" the young man still did not let go of her hand that he gently squeezed.
Jenny immediately felt a strange flow of electricity in her body because of what Jason had done. Then she smiled before opening her mouth to speak.
"The truth is, I don't know the truth. Maybe I felt that in my heart. But I still didn't pay attention, because I'm afraid of being hurt. You did not admit anything so I don't want to expect," she said then bowed her head when she could no longer hold on to the way the young man stares at her.
"I'm sorry," Jason said.
Jenny nodded with a smile. "It's okay, and it's over so don't worry about that. Wait, do you mean you and Cathy broke up?" when she remembered that was what she had asked.
"Yes," Jason replied promptly.
"Why does it seem so fast?" she asked incredulously.
Then the young man reached for her and then gently pinched her cheek. "Of course you're the one I love. I just talked to her, she understood so you don't have to worry anymore," he assured.
Jenny's eyes rolled. "I hope so if I didn't know you were a playboy."
After saying that, that was when the young man shook his head consecutively. After that, he stared at her then with a nice smile on his face tapped the empty part of the sofa where he was sitting.
Jenny shook her head. She immediately thought of her mother but in the end, she realized that she would also admit to her about the two of them so there is nothing to worry about.
When she sat next to Jason, the young man quickly pulled her closer to him and hugged her. "I love you so much, and I hope you would believe me when I say that there is no one else here in my heart, it's just you," he said staring into her eyes.
At that moment, Jenny felt as if Jason's dark and beautiful eyes were absorbing all the energy she had. And that’s the reason why she’s failing. But on the other hand, even though she felt that way, she still had in her heart the inexplicable kind of happiness that she once experiences only in her dreams.
"Do you believe me when I say that I love you so much?" he asked her again while not taking his eyes off her.
That was when Jenny's chest heaved with intense nervousness. "I've been feeling that, that you love me for a long time, I just really want to hear it from you. But since now that you said that, of course, I believe you," she admitted.
Jason smiled. Not only on his face but even more in his eyes was the obvious presence of the extreme happiness that intensified the joy Jenny felt.
The truth is that she has wanted to cry since earlier but she is just holding back because she doesn't want the romantic excitement that she feels to fade away.
"And at least now I have a real reason to watch over you," Jason said laughing before he pulled her again planted a simple kiss on her forehead.
"And at least now I don't have to guess why you're always angry," she replied, laughing softly and then hugged the young man tenderly. "I love you so much. Thank you that you loved me too, you don't know how much you made me happy."
That was true, and at that moment, she too could feel the warmth of the corners of her eyes because of the welling tears. But just like what she said before, she held back, and for the second time, she overcame that.
"I'll pick you up tomorrow, let's go to school together tomorrow okay?" Jason when he said goodbye to go home.
Jenny nodded smiling as she looked up at the young man. "Be careful on your way home, okay? But are you sure you want to pick me up? We can actually meet at the school," she said when they were at the gate.
At that moment, the rain already stopped, but she still decided to give the young man an umbrella. She is worried that it might suddenly rain again.
"Of course, I want you to be the first person I see tomorrow. Mama isn't here either, I don't have anyone at home so I always leave early," Jason explained.
"Why, where is your Mama?" she asked afterward.
"Mama is in Baguio, she manages a small business there," Jason replied.
Jenny's eyes widened at what was heard. "Wow, you're rich, if that is the case then why did you choose to be a student assistant? Well at least you can focus more on your studies," she said.
When Jason's smile widened as his eyes twinkled when he hugged her tightly. "If I hadn't been a student assistant, I wouldn't have met you? Do you still remember? We first met at the library?"
The young lady quickly blushes at what she heard. But despite the intense redness of her face, the effect of what happened did not stop her from ger wanting to look up and just stare at her boyfriend's handsome face.
"Do you know my dream place is Baguio? I want to go there someday and then I will build a restaurant or bakeshop," she said in a dreamy tone.
Jason's gaze touched her face for a moment before he opened his mouth to speak.
"Don't worry, someday I'll take you to Baguio," he bowed then whispered. "We will be spending our honeymoon there. After our wedding," he said.
The young lady sighed violently not only because of what Jason said but even more so because of his warm breath that hit her ear. That caused the inexplicable but delicious kind of shiver that she always felt whenever they accidentally touch and even earlier when he kissed her.
"W-Wedding?" her stuttering utterance.
Amuse, Jason stared at her. Then he bent down, and even before she could move he was able to touch her with a kiss on the lips so Jenny once again gasp.
"You're the woman I'm going to marry," he said, winking at her before he pushes the gate open. "See you tomorrow," Jason added then walks away.
