CHAPTER 68 “OBVIOUS CHEMISTRY & JEALOUSY”
"I'M so sorry, Miriam," Jenny began when she and Ryan's legal wife met.
"It's not your fault. Although I don’t want to admit it to myself, I know in everything that happened Ryan was responsible. But I can't blame him for everything, maybe I also have shortcomings,” she replied to her as they both looked at the unconscious Ryan from the glass wall of the ICU.
Jenny sighed there then opened her mouth again to speak. “But I can't help but feel guilty. I didn't even want to be the one who caused your family to be ruined forever,” at that point Jenny couldn't stop crying. "I-I didn't mean to, I'm so sorry," she said, sobbing.
At that moment Jason was not far away. He was in that lobby as well and sitting. Jenny didn't know if the young man could see her but hopefully not.
“You don’t have to blame yourself, Jenny. Maybe my husband didn't love me like that. Maybe he loves you more than I. But do you know that even then I can't feel jealousy or even anger for you here in my heart?” Miriam in her calm tone.
That was when Jenny looked at Miriam's beautiful face and then stared at her. When she did not speak the woman continued with the rest of what she wanted to say.
“You are not the first woman I have asked to stay away from him. He has victimized many women. But maybe there was something in you that he saw. That is why you were the one he really loved. And I understand what that is. Maybe Ryan and I are not really just for each other,” she said.
"Miriam," she said.
“I am happy that I had beautiful children from him. Even as far as I know he says that Kyrie and Kyla are not his children. I don't have any other man to give myself to, just him. But he was not satisfied with me, and I accepted that. Thank you, Jenny, you were the one who made the way for me to realize that I deserve more,” she said, staring meaningfully at her.
"Oh no, you mean?" she said she couldn't help but feel the seeming depression of her heart at what she heard.
Miriam nodded. “I know it won't be easy. But I already called Ryan's family. They already knew what had happened to him. My decision is final, once he comes to his senses and there is no problem, I will give him his freedom. For him to have a chance to find the person he really wants to be with for the rest of his life,” said Miriam who smiled at her.
"But, Miriam, how about your children?" she asked.
The woman then grabbed her hand and squeezed it carefully.
“It wouldn't be better for them to see us always arguing, right? Maybe that's how it is supposed to be. Don’t worry, I’ll wait for Ryan’s condition to be okay before I open up to him about it. Anyway, who knows when he will have his consciousness back? The doctor said there is still a possibility that when he wakes up, he will not remember or recognize anything.”
Jenny heard a heavy sigh in the tone of Miriam's speech. But even so, as before, she did not have felt any trace of blame there. She obviously accepts what happened to her husband and believes she is not angry with her. Those things alone were enough so that the guilt she felt before would completely disappear.
“Thank you, Miriam, and you made everything easier in our lives. You forgave me and that's all I need to be completely happy,” she said, unable to help but look back at Jason who she saw was busy talking to someone on his phone.
"He's handsome, I'm sure you two will be a perfect match," Miriam replied with a smile. "I wish you all the best, Jenny," she said extending her hand to her.
Miriam's action touched Jenny's heart. So instead of accepting her handshake, she decided to just hug the woman who later responded with a hug to her.
“Don't worry, no matter what happens to Ryan in the next few days, I won't bother you anymore. I want you to be happy, I know in the gleaming of your eyes now that he is really the one you want to be with, and I will give that to you,” Miriam referred to as -he- is Jason.
Jenny smiled there. "Thank you, thank you very much," she said.

“Is it okay if we stop by the office first? I just have an urgent meeting with Paul?” Jason asked her.
After she talked to Miriam, she decided to say goodbye. Somehow, she was also thankful that she did not refuse her request to go to meet her. And at least they had the chance to talk. Now she can tell Ryan’s part in her life is really over, especially and Miriam tells her that she will make sure she can live quietly, with Jason.
"Of course. Wait, it's about what you're telling me regarding the chocolate spread, are you serious about that?” she asked the young man as they walked towards the hospital parking lot.
"Of course, everything I'm telling you is true and I'm always serious," he replied turning to her and then winked.
Jenny was quickly affected by what the young man did. She couldn't help but give a strange meaning to it. Jason's car was parked nearby when they encountered a familiar face.
"Leo!" Jenny's warm greeting to the man she met.
“Jenny! Hi,” he said with a smile as he approached and kissed her on the cheek.
"How are you?" she asked immediately.
"I'll start the car, okay?" that's what she heard Jason say and she just nodded. It was only a matter of time before the young man left her there with her former classmate.
"Our maid said my mother was rushed here because of dizziness," he informed her.
"Oh, I hope she's okay," she said.
Leo nodded then smiled at her. “She seems okay, but hey, I’m sorry but I have to go. So nice to meet you, just say hello to your boyfriend for me, okay?” he said.
Jenny secretly shuddered at what Leo said.
If she could actually be mistaken as Jason's girlfriend, it means they both have chemistry and that's what gave her a good feeling.
"I'm sorry it took so long," she said when she got into Jason's car.
The young man did not say a word and instead quietly drove the car out of the hospital parking lot.
With that gesture of Jason and the young lady easily felt amusement.
Jason has always been the same jealous guy she knew. But it has a bright side, and that's the reason why apart from chemistry, she secretly felt an intense romantic excitement again. In fairness, the young man is cute as he drives. Though quiet with knit eyebrows.
Hey Jason, do I really have to make you jealous to make you realize your true feelings for me? You really are going to drive me crazy!
What she wanted to say but she chose not to.
