Katrina
"PRINCESS"
"KIT-KAT"
"DARLING"
"KATRINA"
Their voices sounded simultaneous, each of them yelling my name as they ran toward us, barreling past the crowd of students gathering nearby. My fated. Somehow they'd known something was wrong and had rushed to my aid.
"I'm over here!" I shouted, my voice muffled due to being smothered against Miles's firm chest. "Miles, let me go."
"I'm never letting you go again, Kitten. That was too much. I can't...I can't go through that again. I felt like I couldn't breathe, Katrina. I don't...I don't know how I would go on if I lost you."
"You aren't going to lose me. I'll always be here." I tried looking up at his eyes as I spoke what I hoped were words of comfort, but his grip was so firm, his bicep curled against my head, that I couldn't even manage to tilt my head. 'Miles, please let go. You're suffocating me."
"What the fuck happened? You were supposed to watch out for her, Miles." Luka yelled. While his words sounded angry, his voice was laced with concern and anxiety, "I felt our bond slipping away Kit-Kat. I thought..." His voice choked, unable to finish his sentence.
"We thought we'd lost you." Samael finished, reaching out to grab me away from Miles, only for Miles to pull me out of his reach. "What the Hell, dude."
"You might have felt her disappearing, but I had to watch her dying," Miles growled, "I'm not sharing. Not right now."
"I'm not a toy to be fought over. Let me see the others."
"No."
"Miles." I huffed, starting to get irritated.
"You can be mad at me all you want, Kitten. I don't fucking care. I'm not letting you go. Holding you is the only thing stopping me from killing Freyja. If you're willing to let that happen, tell me now. I'd like nothing more. " The pure hatred dripping from his voice told me he spoke the truth, and letting Miles become a murderer wasn't something I was willing to let happen, no matter how much I hated to be controlled. Outside the bedroom, my personality can be just as dominating as my men, and it makes me feel small, almost inferior to them, when they try to control me.
"Could you turn me around, at least?" I asked, holding back my temper, hoping he would compromise.
He loosened his grip, just a smudge, as he turned me to face the others, grumbling the entire time as he did so. The moment I faced them, Aphelion grabbed my face, cupping my cheeks, and leaned in and kissed me. I could feel the wet hot tears dripping down his face as his skin touched mine.
"I'm sorry," I whispered as he pulled away.
"Tell me exactly what happened," Luka stated furiously, his dark aura swirling around as his anger grew.
"Freyja tried to kill Katrina. She made up the roster, so Kitten would go up against her, and when it was finally time for their battle, Freyja used sharpened weapons. If it was for Katrina's quick wit, she would have died in the first round. In the second round, she took Freyja down fast, but in the third round, she froze, and Freyja went in for the kill. Just as she was about to strike Katrina down, Kitten's eyes changed, her color and pupils vanishing, and only the whites remained, and then her aura became pure white, and a powerful burst of divinity barreled toward Freyja, wiping her out. By the time I'd reached Katrina, all of her mortal wounds were gone. I'd never seen anything like it before."
