"So Brahma wants to add me to his collection of angels?" I swallow deeply, realizing that this man wouldn't just lock me up for my DNA but would use my powers for his benefit instead.
"Pretty much. Yeah." Miles replies, looking me over as if to gauge my reaction.
"So what's the plan?" I ask, knowing my warrior God would've dissected the entire situation and come up with the best-suited option to keep Brahma away from.
"The plan isn't set in stone yet." Beckett replies, "We are still waiting for a few things to fall into place before we can determine if the plan will work."
"So when will you know?" I ask cautiously, wondering if my men are keeping something from me yet again.
"Tomorrow night. After your date, and we all return from our assignments." Luka speaks up, his response settling my worries of being kept in the dark again. I can wait one more day to hear their plan.
"So, what happened during your meeting with my father?" Aphelion asks, taking my hand into his, the pad of his thumb softly rubbing the top.
We're sitting in the dining room, which is surprisingly untouched, given the amount of destruction that occurred in the living. The tall white kitchen chairs are soot free, and the glass table top is unshattered. A few of the placemats ended up on the floor, and the salt and pepper shakers were knocked over due to the fierce winds, but that was the extent of the damage. Our almost impeccable kitchen proves how strong and in control of his powers my Prince of the Underground is.
"It was strange. When Zeus arrived at the school, time was standing still. He seemed just as surprised to see me as I was to see him. Hey told me that he'd come to the academy to meet me. He said he was upset that he hadn't been introduced to me yet, which made him suspicious. He wanted to see me for himself to determine if the heirs were indeed not keeping something from him. It wasn't until he mentioned that I was the only person besides himself that could move while time was standing still that I realized I'd painted an even bigger target on my back. "I reply, watching as Aphelion's eyes widen in surprise.
It's not only Aphelion's eyes that widen, though. It's all of my mates. They look more than surprised. They look... They look frightened. Were they afraid of me? Had I finally done something that even they couldn't write off?
"What do we do now?" Beckett asks, looking toward Miles for direction.
"How likely is your father to request her death?" Samuel asks Aphelion.
Luka is still staring at me with wonder in his eyes; if it weren't for his jaw moving, I'd think he was starstruck, but knowing his little quirks, I know he's lost deep in thought.
"My father will see you as an even larger threat now." Aphelion states answering Samael but looking at me. "While he'll likely request you be sentenced to death, or at least to be banished to the veil, he could try to use you. He already knows how powerful you are; if he's as cunning as he's led us to believe, he'll try to use you as a weapon of mass destruction."
"So, my question once again is, what do we do now?" Beckett inquires, waiting for Miles to respond.
"We proceed as normal," Miles states, taking my hand in his and drawing me near, inhaling my scent to calm his nerves.
"Are you sure that's wise?" Beckett asks, his voice full of concern.
"The plan wasn't only to keep Braham away; it's to keep everyone away. Including Zeus." Miles states.
"And you're sure I can't know the plan?" I grumbled, hating the feeling that in being left out.
"You'll like it." Luka states smiling at me. "Trust me."
"I do." I reply smiling at him. And I do trust him. There's always been something about my overly handsome professor that told me I could trust him.
"So now that we've got all that out in the open," Beckett starts.
"Umm..." I swallow deeply, my nerves acting up, "There's actually one more thing."
I can feel Miles's arm tighten across my stomach, his muscles rippling against my skin. My other men seem to tense up as well, waiting for me to drop my news. But I can't seem to get the words out of my mouth. My jaw feels locked, and my throat seems to tighten; I know it's my anxiety getting to me. And I know I shouldn't let it. I have no reason to be, but I feel like, at any minute, the ball is going to drop, that the cloud I'm walking on is going to disapparate, and I'm going to fall.
I can feel Miles's hands rubbing circles across my belly, sending warm butterflies soaring throughout; his breath is hot on my neck as he leans in and places a soft kiss right below my ear. "We are waiting, Kitten." His voice vibrated against the spot he had just placed his kiss.
"Err… yeah." I clear my throat, trying once again to form the words needed to talk about my dream.
"Whatever it is, Princess. We're here always." Aphelion states his eyes are adorned with love.
"I know," I whisper, biting my bottom lip, "I just don't know where to begin."
"I find the beginning is always helpful when telling a story." Samael jokes, winking at me, trying to help settle my nerves.
"The night before everyone woke up feeling drained, I had a dream. A dream unlike any I've had before."
I can feel Luka's eyes drilling into me, and I know he already has it figured out. He knew that morning before he left for class. I could tell by that look he gave me before walking away.
"We've already told you that you couldn't have drained the entire academy. There's no way." Beckett states.
"Please continue, Kit-Kat." Luka's held up his hand to silence the others; he and I both know the truth. His darkness has always called to mine. He's seen and felt the darkness that's been inside me from the very beginning.
"In my dream, I had an insatiable appetite. No matter how many times you guys fed me. I still craved more. Nothing could calm the passion that was raging through my body."
"Now we know that was definitely a dream, darling. I'd force-feed you my cock until you no longer hungered for anything else." Beckett states while adjusting himself.
I can feel the inkling of desires swirling around, but I push them down. This conversation is important and needs to be had.
"You're hungry now," Luka remarks, his eyes never leaving my own, his intense stare causing my nipples to pebble. "You shouldn't let yourself go hungry ever," he murmurs, stepping forward to caress my face, "If you go hungry, you'll feed until your energy restores, as then you'll continue to feed until you have a surplus amount of energy stored."
"Do you really think Katrina was capable of all that?" Samael asks his expression one of disbelief.
"I believe our Queen is capable of that and much more," Luka replies, peppering kisses along my jawline while Miles's hands slide gently across my waist, tucking every so often into the top of my panties.
"What are you doing?" I moan, letting out a sharp hiss as he gently bites my neck.
