Chapter 33: Samael
As much as I wanted to track Beckett down and beat some sense into him, I had to respect Katrina's decision in letting him have some time. Hopefully, the fool came to his senses soon; we will need everyone to be on the same page if we will succeed in our plan of winning over the council.
As I fly down to the underworld once again this weekend, I try to keep my thoughts away from Luka. I don't want to think of how angry it made me when Beckett mentioned Luka's name in disgust. I don't want to think of how my heart rate accelerated when Katrina mentioned lying in bed with Luka and how my thoughts strayed to me laying in bed with them, the three of us entangled in the sheets in nothing but our birthday suits, panting breathlessly after we'd taken pleasure from each other's bodies. I don't want to mention that even now, almost twelve hours later, I still thought about how his lips felt against me and how I hoped it wasn't just a one-time thing. I especially didn't want to talk about how I thought multiple times about how it would feel about returning the favor and watching him come undone under my mouth.
With my thoughts on Luka, I didn't realize that I had already made it past the divider from the Earth Kingdom into the Underworld Kingdom and that I was now flying high above the Acheron river. I needed to take time out of my schedule and visit the river cities of the underworld, it was my duty as heir, and I had been neglecting my responsibilities lately; maybe Katrina would want to come back with me soon, and I could show her around the world she'd someday help rule over.
Just as I was passing the outskirts of the Acheron river village, something caught my attention. A gooey black substance seemed to be overtaking a part of the river. Everything the substance touched seemed to die. Was this the Eitr that Luka, Beckett, and Katrina talked about? I take out my cellphone and curse when I find I don't have service, not that I should be surprised; the only place I had service down here was at the castle. I open up my camera and take a few pictures of the tar-like substance and the path of destruction in its wake. The substance is moving slowly now, so I'm not too concerned about leaving it as I find Luka, but I would need to return quickly and see what I can do about destroying it.
After taking the final picture and scouting the area to ensure no citizens are nearby, I continue my journey toward the castle, hoping that Luka is still there. As I enter my home and try to track down Luka, it crosses my mind how much easier it would be to find him if we were bonded mates, but that process would require me to be inside of him and him me. My face flushes, my breath quickens, and I feel myself stir with pleasure as thoughts of Luka bent over cross my mind. I quickly banish those thoughts from my mind. What the fuck is wrong with me.
I can hear Luka's voice, hollering Katrina's name in the distance. "Katrina!" Followed by, "Okay, Kit-Kat, this game isn't fun. If Samael finds out I've lost you; my ass is grass."
I quietly follow Luka's voice through the castle until I'm right behind him, following him down an unlit corridor that will eventually lead to an empty theatre room. The hallway is eerily quiet; the only sound is Luka's footsteps. I hurry down the corridor until I'm directly behind him, my breath hot on his neck. "Did you lose something, Luka?" I ask huskily, causing him to jump.
"Fuck, Samael!" Luka exclaims, turning towards me, his eyes swirling with an emotion I can't decipher, "I wasn't expecting you."
"You're awfully jumpy, Luka," I reply, stepping closer to him and backing him into a wall, cornering him.
"What are you doing here, Samael?" Luka asks the look on his face impassive.
"Katrina told me I needed to talk to you; she didn't want any awkwardness between us."
"You saw Katrina? When? Where? Is she okay?"
"Yeah. She's fine; she teleported into our dorm in the Academy."
"Wait, what?" Luka asks, confusion on his face, "Did you say teleported? I thought that was impossible inside the Academy."
"Not for Katrina, it seems; her powers are increasing daily."
"So Katrina wants us to talk?" Luka asks, stepping away from the wall and closer to me, our chests nearly touching, "What does she want us to talk about?"
I lick my lips which have gone dry, "just about last night," I reply, my cheeks pinking when I watch his gaze drop to my lips and then slowly back into my eyes again.
"Which part of last night? How I sucked your cock, or how when I watched you fuck Katrina in her ass, the only thing I could think of was how it would feel to have you in me?"
His words cause me to sputter, "Uh..." I'm at a loss for words; I'm never at a loss for words. What is it about Luka that causes me to become a blubbering fool?
He steps forward once more, leaving no distance between us now. I think he's going to kiss me for a moment, our lips are so close they brush against each other, but then he sides steps and lets out a little chuckle.
"Last night was fun; there isn't much to talk about as far as I'm concerned, what happened happened. Don't you agree?" He asks
"Err...uhh... yeah. Whatever you say, dude." I reply, trying to act like Luka's little tease hadn't affected me.
He chuckles again before turning around, intent on leaving our dark corridor, "so, anything else you needed to discuss?" He asks as he walks out of the hallway and back into the central part of my home.
Damnit, how could I forget the tar-like substances? I'm going to be king, for crying out loud; I can't forget important shit like this, "Actually, yeah," I respond, catching up to him, "Could you take a look at these pictures and tell me what you think?"
I open up my phone and swipe over to the first picture before handing it to him.
"Where was this?" He asks with concern.
"The edge of the Acheron River. Just outside of the village." I respond.
"We need to talk to the kings sooner rather than later. This is most definite Etir, and it's multiplying quickly. If we don't figure out who's creating it quickly, there will be ancient beasts running amuck. Beasts that the Thor and Odin of legends had a hard time defeating."
"We can't go to the council yet. Katrina hasn't learned how to control her powers; if the kings or the rest of their council discover her true heritage, she is as good as dead."
'If the Etir continues to grow, Katrina and the rest of the world will cease to exist." Luka replies.
"Is there any way we can slow the spreading? Aphelion told us earlier that his father wants to meet Katrina within a month. If we can help her learn to control her power within the month, she'll have a higher chance of survival and not being taken, prisoner. After we present here, we can discuss the Etir. We can also tell them Katrina was gifted Divine Light as a gift from the original God Jehovah to help defeat the spreading darkness."
"There's supposedly an elixir that Freyja created that can help slow the Etir. It's scarce, but Loki stored a bottle in Tartarus; if we can find that elixir, we can use it on the Etir down here to slow its spread."
"What should we do in the meantime while we're trying to find the Elixir?"
"We have to hope that it doesn't spread. Katrina could use her heavenly light to destroy most of it, but I don't know what her light would do to the Acheron river."
"Okay, let's try the elixir first. If we can't find it, we will use heavenly light as the last resort. Whatever we need to do to buy some time before we present this to the kings, the better."
