Chapter 49

Kharis POV

I was bored to death by just staying home alone. Yes you know it, I had no friends or anyone to visit. Frederick already left for work and Lois was home. I figured it was best to invite him in, cook a meal, and bond with him.

I sat on the couch, watching the South African movie 'Happiness is a four later word'. In the movie, perfectionist Nandi seems to have the new South African dream life within her grasp: being a partner in a major firm, marriage, and the perfect house - but it all goes up in flames a few months before the wedding. With her friends Zaza and Princess, Nandi will have to find out what truly makes her happy and then fight to get it.

In the movie, Nandi seems to have the perfect man, job, friends, house - everything. She joggles every aspect of her life perfectly. She is engaged to a man who isn't as rich as she is but has a son already. When her ex comes back into her life by being a co-partner in her firm, things change.

She has sex with him despite being engaged and accepts his wedding proposal by collecting his ring. She begins thinking if her ex was more instead of her fiance who she has been with for a long time. When he decides to call off the wedding, she begins to think differently and strive to do whatever it takes to be happy. Is it calling off the wedding with her fiance? Going back to her ex? Buying the house? Accepting her fiance's son? Becoming partner?...

I finished watching the movie and eating the full bowl of popcorn in my hands. I turned to look at the time again and it was noon.

'Hmm, when is Frederick going to get back from work?', I thought.

I got up from the couch to take the bowl of popcorn to the kitchen. I realized I had not given Lois breakfast and figured it was a perfect way to bond with him. Although Frederick relieved me of all maid duties, I couldn't leave Lois to starve of course.

I opened the fridge and took out Lo-Dough, pastrami, 2 slices of Gouda chees, sauerkraut, 2 pickled gherkins, French's American mustard, and fry-light oil spray. I placed everything on the table and hurried to the parlor to play some cool music.

I swayed my hips just because I was enjoying the music and went to the kitchen. I preheated the sandwich maker and went to the table to cut the Lo-Dough in half to create a base and lid. I hummed to the music. Weird enough, my stepmother didn't teach me how to cook, ever.

Everything I learned was from my mother. As I cooked, I dialed Frederick's number. It rang twice but he did not answer. Suddenly, my mood changed.

While I added pastrami, mustard, pickles, sauerkraut, and a layer of cheese to one side of the dough, Frederick called back.

Soon, I became happy and wore a smile on my face.

"Hey baby", he said.

"Hey, love. I called earlier though".

"Yes. I'm sorry about that. I just got out of a meeting and saw a missed call from you. How is it over there"?.

"So, I'm making a sandwich pie".

"Hmm. I know it's going to be delicious".

"Yes. I was wondering if I could bring some for you to the office".

After being silent for some seconds, he responded.

"Okay baby. I'll call Lois and tell him to bring you here".

"Are you sure? I could stay home and wait till you get here".

"It's fine babe. I need you to come. I want to give you my credit card so Lois can take you shopping".

"Shopping"?

"Yes darling, shopping".

"But I do not need anything babe", I said, frowning my face.

"Babe. Take yourself out. Buy some clothes, shoes, girlie accessories. You need them, my love".

"Okay babe", I said and dropped the call to continue with my cooking.

I packaged the food into a plate and tied a ribbon on it. I decided to write a note for him as I did the other time. It read:

'How can I not love you when all you do screams love and call out for me. You are everything sweet and a thousand more, you bring a million smiles to my face. Your love is sweet, your love is patient, your love is healthy, it's new every day, it's not like anything I've seen before. It gets me drunk, it feels like I'm floating. I love you.

I smiled at the note on the plate. As I left the kitchen and walked upstairs, I heard a bang on the door. 'That must be Lois', I thought. I opened the door to find the same model standing outside.

I stood by the door and kept staring at her face.

"Good afternoon, Frederick is not home at the moment and I am stepping out too", I said to her with a smile on my face.

"I'll wait for him", her face was blank as she spoke.

"Okay, please come in", I said and opened the door wide for her.

As soon as she was there. I locked the door and climbed the stairs to my room. I went straight to my wardrobe and picked out a tight and semi-long brown gown. I tied my hair in a ponytail, applied lip gloss, and wore glasses that matched the dress. I took out a black floral sandal and wore it on my foot. I applied cologne to my body and aimed for the door.

As I held the door, I figured it would be necessary to inform Frederick of his visitor. Thankfully, I was with my phone. I took it out of my bag and called him.

"Babe, you have a visitor", I said.

"Okay. Who's the person"?

"I don't know her…"

"Her"?He interrupted my statement.

"Yes, I do not know her but what I do know is that she's a model".

" Oh"...

"Okay. Come over here with Lois. Can you check my wardrobe for some work clothes and bring it here".

"Okay. Is everything okay babe"?, I asked.

"Just forget about the clothes babe. I'll follow you to the mall and shop for more clothes", he said.

"Okay then. So, can I leave her here in the house"?

Yeah, babe".

"Okay. I'm on my way. I cannot wait to see you", I said excitedly and dropped the call.

I opened the door and headed downstairs to the kitchen, avoiding contact with the woman who was staring at me. I picked up the bag containing Frederick's food and another bag, containing Lois's share.

"I'll be right back. Frederick said I can leave you here all by yourself. Take care please", I said and left the house.

I walked to Lois's door and knocked on it.

"Good afternoon. Frederick asked you to bring me to the office".

"Yes, I know about that", he said.

"This is for you", I said and handed over the bag to him.

"He opened it and was trying to figure out what the content of the bag was".

It is a sandwich pie", I said to him laughing.

"Thank you so much for this Kharis", he said and gave me a long hug.

He took the bag inside and came out with a car key. He pressed a button and a garage with lots of expensive black cars were revealed.

"Oh my God", I whispered. Lois smiled at me and said, "make your choice ma'am".

"Do you mean we could drive anyone I like"?

"Yes Kharis", the boss ordered".

"I love this one" I, said pointing to a Benz

"Hop in then", Lois said and drove out of the building into the street.

The ride was quiet though. The only thing making a little bit of noise was "fuck you back to sleep by Chris Brown", on the radio. A part of the song got to me and immediately I Shazam it.

'Yeah, I'm kissing, I'm sweating, I'm licking all over your body

Yeah, who else gon' beat it like me?

Yeah, he was good but I'm really nice

Yeah, you let me shoot a deep blank on his life

Yeah, he fell in love after only one night

Yeah, and then I ran off on that pussy twice

You always let me in, I got that slick talk

Keep that good wood on me, you love that stick talk, stick talk

Used to think that we were so the same

I'm real R&B, these other niggas lame

I'm awake it up, you got the cake batter

Shit, I'ma bake it up

Put you back to sleep, baby girl, no picture

No ho shit, cause I'm a real nigga:

I could only think of Frederick licking my body, kissing my breasts, and having his sweat drop from his body onto mine. I craved his touch at the moment. I bit my tongue unconsciously at the thought of Frederick touching me. I missed him but I was already on my way to him.

"What is Frederick's office like"? asked Lois.

"It's colorful, busy, and comfortable", he answered, a smile forming on his lips.

Damn, I wanted to fuck Frederick in his office. I was going to do it. I smiled to myself, at my thoughts...
