Frederick POV

Ivy called to talk about coming to stay at my house!! At my house??? Why the hell would she want to come to stay at my house when we were not married. I invited her to dinner because I wanted to inform her of my plans to cancel the wedding.


I became furious when she insulted Kharis over the phone. In her words, "Because of that cheap thing, that gold digger". If there was someone who wasn't cheap and digging gold, it was Ivy. I was aware that she used me to get some deals from top modeling agencies. I wasn't against that though because I want to see her succeed.


But when she insulted Kharis, I realized it was time to cut the connection between myself, my business partners, and herself.


I left the office to the conference room for a meeting with some partners who were ready to invest in our newest phone product. It was after the meeting was over and I went to the office that I noticed I had missed two of Kharis's calls. Damn, I promised to communicate today. Well, I had been busy all through.


I dialed her number right away.

"Hey, love. I called earlier though".


"Yes. I'm sorry about that. I just got out of a meeting and saw a missed call from you. How is it over there"?, I said, arranging some papers on my desk.


"So, I'm making a sandwich pie", she said, and I could tell that she had a smile on her face.

"Yes. I was wondering if I could bring some for you to the office", she said word for word.


I was silent for a while. I wondered if it was a good idea for Kharis to show up at my office. I already received some calls from my business partners asking to know if I'm still getting married to Ivy. While I said yes to some, I said no to the others. I didn't want Kharis's visit to make things worse. I thought about it and answered her.


"Okay baby. I'll call Lois and tell him to bring you here", I said, scratching my forehead.


"Are you sure? I could stay home and wait till you get here", she answered, not sure about my response.


"It's fine babe. I need you to come. I want to give you my credit card so Lois can take you shopping", I said.


"Shopping"?


"Yes darling, shopping".


"But I do not need anything babe,'' she said.


This woman didn't understand that being with me involved looking like me. I wanted her to shop for some more things but most especially, I wanted her to have fun and do something, instead of just sitting at home.


"Babe. Take yourself out. Buy some clothes, shoes, girly accessories. You need them, my love".


"Okay babe", she answered and dropped the call.


I called Jane using the telephone. I needed her to come to take some papers and go to work on them. I began responding to some emails when Kharis's call came in again.

'what's wrong again, I asked myself.


"Babe, you have a visitor", she said.


"Okay. Who's the person"?, My mind started running to all the people that could visit my house.


"I don't know her…"


"Her"? I interrupted her statement.


"Yes, I do not know her but what I do know is that she's a model".


" Oh"... It then hit me that Ivy had landed. Why wouldn't this woman leave me and let me be? It wasn't mandatory to marry her.


"Okay. Come over here with Lois. Can you check my wardrobe for some work clothes and bring it here", I asked her.


"Okay. Is everything okay babe"?, She asked.


When I realized that Kharis might suspect something if I ask her to bring my work clothes, I said "Just forget about the clothes babe. I'll follow you to the mall and shop for more clothes".


"Okay then. So, can I leave her here in the house"?


Yeah, babe".


"Okay. I'm on my way. I cannot wait to see you".


I was about to say "me too" when I realized she had already ended the call.


I called Lois and asked him to bring Kharis straight to my office. I didn't want them making stops at the office building to avoid triggering some puck nosers in the office.

I kept blushing seriously after I read the note.

"Who wrote this", I asked, still staring at the paper, reading in between the lines over and over again.


"I did babe", she answered, looking at my face with wholesome eyes.


"Do you mean any of this", I asked.


"I mean everything that is on that paper. Frederick, I love you. You make me feel whole. I no longer feel like a broken woman", she said to me, stretching her hands to mine.


I stood up from where I sat and moved closer to where she was. I lifted her, took over on the chair, and made her sit on my lap like a baby. I kissed her lips and caressed her hair.


"I'm willing to do whatever it takes to make you mine", I whispered and nibbled on her ear.


She stared into her eyes as if she was pleading for something.

"Don't ever let me go please", she whispered.


"I'd be a fool if I do".

"Why, what is wrong"?, She asked, walking to the couch.


"I just want us to spend a few days away from home. But first of all, we are going shopping".


I stood up and excused myself. I quickly called Lois to come to Jane's office. I went there and already met Lois sitted.


"I heard Ivy is home", I said.


"Yes sir, she is".


"I want you to keep a close eye on her. When she leaves, let me know. You can head back home. I and Kharis wouldn't be coming back today".


"Okay sir", he answered and walked away.


"Jane, please attend to those files as soon as possible. I'll be leaving the office now. Let me know if anything comes up", I said and headed out of her office.


"Shall we", I said to Kharis who was busy on her phone.


"Of course".


Anytime I saw her with her phone, my heartbeat tripled. I wondered if she had seen the news yet!!!
